TERRIBLE LOVE.
068. ❛ this can't be happening. ❜
After waking up from her fifth nap and having the babies press on her bladder, was Courtney's start to the rest of her day. While Courtney slept so did Cara apparently, being lounged across her couch and drooling on the pillow. Courtney stepped cautiously into the kitchen not trying to wake up Cara but also feeling the weight of her babies affect her slightly more when she would walk normally.
She opened the refrigerator door to see if Norman stocked it to perfection, some cravings that she had were unhealthy but today her stomach craved juicy strawberries that they had. Washing them in the sink, strawberries popped into her mouth never settling her hunger needs. Once again she rummaged the fridge and not getting any feelings to eat anything else in it. Court went to sit on the chair in the living room, holding onto the armrests while she slowly sat down. But the loud groan that escaped when she sat down woke Cara up in a startle.
She rubbed her head still dazed from her sleep, "Do you have to groan so loud?"
"Once you carry a litter then you can complain about my groaning." Courtney leaned back rubbing her hand on her bump and feeling the jolt of their kicks radiating her body.
"It doesn't matter. What matters now is that those babies come out as soon as possible so that I can be the perfect aunt." Cara placed one of her hands on her belly and smiling at her sister.
"We don't even have names set for them. Norman and I are just the worst at picking names, I swear that I might actually name them after one of the characters on The Walking Dead." Courtney chuckled as she held onto Cara's hands that lifted her up and supporting her to led her to the couch that had more room to relax.
While Cara led her to the couch, Courtney's phone rang on the coffee table and Cara grabbed it and passed it to Courtney. The number was unknown to her but she would never get unknown numbers calling her, with a click of her finger she pressed her phone to her ear.
"Hello, is this Courtney Delevingne?" A woman's voice radiated with a very formal tone, and Courtney saw too many movies to know where this was heading. Courtney locked eyes with Cara and she didn't want to utter the words that were being fed to her.
"Yes, this is she." Courtney faltered her voice not wanting to continue the conversation with all the bad scenarios playing in her mind.
"I'm sorry to inform you that your sister, Camilla Delevingne has suffered a terrible car accident." Courtney felt tears running down her cheeks as she shook her head in disbelief, Cami couldn't have been in a car accident. She was with Paul and they couldn't have gotten into trouble. While she heard all the information that the woman was telling her, she asked for the name of the hospital and instantly hung up.
"Court, what's happening?" Cara asked seeing that her sister was in a hysterical mood.
"There's been an accident- Camilla's badly injured and so is Paul. We have to go...They need us." As Court explained, Cara was in the same disbelief that she was in. And all the two sisters could do was cry while they went to the hospital to where their sister was fighting for her life.

The hospital was one place where Courtney never wanted to be, because while it signified birth it also brought death and her mind couldn't stop from wavering towards the fact that her sister was a matter of life or death situation.
Cara and Court sat in the waiting room hugging one another while they awaited news from the doctors. They alerted their family members and all of them doing whatever they could to hitch a ride to NY.
"The family of Camilla Delevingne." The doctor announced with Cara lifting her arm to alert the doctor where they were. Courtney waddled over with Cara as support and both of them hoping for the best news.
"Please, tell us it's good news. That our sister is okay." Cara begged him, who looked sternly at both of them. The long silence that was stuck between them didn't help their hope at all.
"I'm afraid that she is in critical condition and it's best if you say goodbye." The doctor said as Courtney started crying and almost dropping to her knees if Cara didn't catch her. The words kept circulating her mind and she couldn't come to terms that Camilla wasn't going to make it.
Courtney sniffled and wiped her nose as she looked at Cara, "I'll go first and you go check on Paul." Cara didn't think it was a good idea to leave Courtney all alone with her critical sister, but she understood that Courtney was putting on her bold front to make it less harder on herself.
The doctor led her to Camilla's room where she had to where a special suit before going in. Even from far away, Courtney could see the pain that her sister was in. Taking in slow breaths and her heartbeat slowing down as well, but seeing Courtney's face was all Cami needed at that point. Cami smiled at her sister who was in tears and by her side, "You were a great sister." She said slowly trying to space out her words. "Tell them that they were all good sisters. That our parents were the best, and that I love all of you."
"And that my niece and nephew remember me." Cami spat out with her breaths becoming heavier.
Courtney held onto her sister's hand as she uttered her word to her, "Cami, I know that it's hard right now but I need you to fight. Delevingnes are fighters and your niece and nephew are going to see you, okay? So grant me a miracle and fight for me. Fight for us. I can't lose you, Cami."
Camilla smiled at her sister slowly as she explained what she was seeing, "I'm seeing beautiful things, I'm hearing wonderful sounds. Tell them. Tell them that I love them."
Courtney saw what was going on and the monitor beep was the clear indication of her death. Courtney let out a cry that could be heard throughout the world, and couldn't help but cry all to herself. Her pain was all that she felt through her body, consuming her liveliness and she looked down at her sister's lifeless body. A sharp jolt hit Courtney's stomach, a normal response she'd receive ever now and then but this was different. The jolts kept coming continuously as she held onto the bed rails, digging her nails into the plastic and feeling her contractions. Instead of cries, screams came out of her mouth that brought attention to the room.
A certain blonde passed the room before jogging back and seeing her sister. She burst in seeing Courtney crouch over the bed and then looking to her limp sister.
"Cara, I need a doctor." Courtney yelled out as she cried in pain once again. In a jiffy, a doctor came around in a wheelchair rushing her straight to delivery.
"Where the hell is Norman?" Courtney asked Cara who was by her side holding her hand, that was being crushed by Courtney's.
"I called him a while ago, he said that he was in traffic."
"If it was a while ago then he should be here by now! I'm about to give birth to his babies and he's not here!" Courtney cried out once again as the contractions started to become worse and worse. The doctor checking her cervix and putting on his mask.
"It looks like you're about ready to start pushing." The doctor said which brought much more anxiety to her, Norman was going to miss the birth of his children, her sister passed away, and her other one was about to receive a bunch of broken bones.
The doctor started counting and urged Courtney to push, the sweat started building up on her face from the constant pushing. And when the doctor said that he could see the baby's head, she could hear a ruckus being urged outside and the curtain opening.
And when the curtain opened, she could hear the high pitch cry of a baby and the kick in her thighs. Courtney leaned back into her bed, relieved that one part of her pain was gone. She felt another hand snake into hers as she looked over to the man who was the father of her newborn baby. Courtney tried to open her mouth to tell him of Cami's passing to which Norman just placed a kiss to her head, "I know."
While the nurses were cleaning the baby, the doctor once again urged Courtney to push again even harder as before and this time around the baby came around faster. And when she felt him come out, she sighed in relief feeling the pain leave her body but not the one she held inside.
"What are you going to call them?" The nurse asked as she placed the girl in her arms. In that instant, she saw all of Norman in her as the boy would inherit all of Courtney's genes. Courtney looked down at her baby who fused around as she swayed him back and forth.
"Lucas Monroe Reedus." Norman decided on the boy's name as Courtney still planned on her daughters. Courtney never took her eyes off of her before looking up to Norman and uttering the baby's name.
"Camilla Catalina Reedus."
