TERRIBLE LOVE.
070. ❛ she would've loved this. ❜
While Camilla was in life, her roles were no doubt the best in Hollywood even if she reverted to the small screen. Hearing of the nomination that Camilla got for the Oscars was truly a special time in the Delevingne family, not even Courtney had received a nomination that prestigious. Still having been weeks since Camilla's departure from this word, Courtney as well as her family that attending would be the first time they have made a public appearance since their family tragedy.
While Courtney got ready to attend the Oscars, she heard a loud shriek escape from the young babe's mouth. With half her makeup done and her hair wrapped up in a bun, she ran to the nursery to see the rosy cheeked baby wrapped up like a pink burrito squirming to get out. She reached from Camilla seeing how she was fussing around she could suspect that it was time to eat again for her. As Camilla fed from her mother's breast, Courtney felt two muscular arms wrapped around her waist resting his head on her small shoulder. She could feel Norman's gaze looking down at the breastfeeding that was happening, in no sexual way but as a blessing of nature that he was bestowed with. To have such an amazing woman nurture the children they made together.
"You should be getting ready, of you want I can take over." Norman said.
Courtney chuckled at his statement as she continued to breastfeed, "It's not exactly like you have the ability to provide food for our child. Either way I think she's had enough." Courtney closed her robe as she started to burp her daughter, watching Norman as she did so. She did so constantly until the baby started to fall asleep, and placing her quietly in the crib. Courtney stood over looking her precious baby watching the rise and fall of her chest. The baby was the pureness of her life but watching her also brought sadness to her eyes. The future that her sister wouldn't be able to her firstborn baby. The blanket started getting stained by puddles of tears dripping down and ruining the makeup she effortlessly put on.
Courtney held her mouth with her hand not wanting to let noise escape her body. No soothing words that came from Norman or the kind words that fans would post could take away the pain that she held in her heart. Her hair was being tousled and kisses were pressed to her temples before engulfing her in a tighten hug. After weeks of not talking, Norman knew that his duty wasn't to pressure her into talking but consoling her in a time of need.

Seated in the Dolby Theater made it real to Courtney. Not that she had any doubt before she didn't know how she would handle it without Norman and her family. Seeing all her fellow peers offer their condolences to the Delevingne and accepting awards for spontaneous acting in movies made the hurt subside for a while but it was when it got to Camilla's category that she clenched onto Norman's hand the hardest. She zoned out the presenters primarily focusing on the picture they had put up of Camilla. Her smile, her posture, her hair, the sparkle in her eyes.
"And the Academy Award goes to..." Watching as the person unfolded the envelope was the longest seconds in her life, the fingers twiddled with the paper before opening his mouth to announce the winner. "Camilla Delevingne."
The sound echoed in all of their heads as they got up and instead of Norman initiating the hug Courtney launched herself in his arms. "Accepting the award of Courtney's behalf is her family, her sister's Cara, Courtney, and Poppy Delevingne." While her parents wanted to be there, they felt it too hard specifically for them as parents to be there. At a certain aspect, they all understood because who as a parent could handle the death of their daughter.
The three sisters held hand and hand walking to the main stage as the whole audience applauded for Camilla. Going up the steps and standing in the podium watching the award placed on top of it was the scariest thing that she would do in her life, speaking on behalf of her sister. No one could prepare them for that.
"I want to thank the Academy for bestowing this award on my sister, there are not enough words to express how grateful and sadden that she couldn't be here to accept it. But surely enough, she's looking down on us and smiling at the legacy she left behind and her role certainly portray the person she was in real life. Kind, gracious, and rebellious at the same time. It has been a truly difficult time for my family and seeing what my sister has accomplished, something that I haven't accomplished yet is truly amazing. Being here in a colleague of her peers, of our peers, here celebrating her work is one that will fill my heart with so much happiness. The legacy she left behind wouldn't be one that will be forgotten, I can assure you that. As she once said, ' Don't listen to what anybody says except the people who encourage you. If it's what you want to do and it's within yourself, then keep going and try to do it for the rest of your life.' Camilla, you are now our encouragement and will keep us going to a very long time. Thank you very much." Courtney finalized taking the award, walking off stage alongside her sisters who had a group hug on stage for their fallen sister. And backstage Courtney took it upon herself to overlook its labels and reading the only one that mattered. The one that read, Camilla Delevingne.
