i sat next to dominic in my bed as we went through the different comments under my newest post. "i guess people really like the album." i said.

dominic grinned, his eyes scanning the screen as he read through the comments. "of course they do," he said, his voice filled with pride. "your work is incredible. you poured so much of yourself into these songs and it shows." he looked over at me and gave my hand a gentle squeeze. "i'm so proud of you."

"thanks." i said with a cheeky smile. "i mean, even tyler the creator commented...i must be doing something right."

dominic's eyes widened in surprise. "tyler the creator? damn, you've made it big time now." he said with a knowing smile. "you're on your way to the top, no doubt."

i couldn't help but feel a sense of disbelief mixed with excitement at his words. "i didn't think i'd have fans so soon," i said quietly, a faint blush tinting my cheeks.

"are you kidding?" dominic said, his voice filled with admiration. "your music is making an impact on people. they can relate to your lyrics, your style. you're bringing something fresh and new to the table. give yourself some credit." he took my hand and interlocked our fingers, squeezing it gently to emphasize his words.

as my phone was in my free hand, we both saw the notification that came through. i swallowed hard before opening it.

i turned to dominic who was reading the conversation along with me. "do you want to bring my special guest?" i asked him softly.

he shook his head. "can't." he said.

"what? why not?" i asked with raised eyebrows.

"because i have my own set to play those days." he answered with a smirk.

my eyes widened in surprise, and i couldn't help but laugh. "oh really? and you couldn't mention that to me before now?" i teased, shaking my head playfully.

dominic chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "surprised? i didn't want to steal your thunder." he teased, reaching out to ruffle my hair affectionately.

dominic shrugged, a smirk playing at the corner of his lips. "i haven't asked yet," he admitted. "i was hoping you'd be my guest, but obviously that's not possible now."

"yeah, sorry about that." i said with a slight frown.

he saw my frown and reached out to gently touch my cheek. "don't worry about it. there are plenty of other awesome people i can ask." he said with a reassuring smile.

"like who?" i asked curiously.

dominic thought for a moment, his eyes scanning my room as he considered the question. "maybe beabadoobee, bakar or remi wolf. those are some top contenders for me," he said.

"those are good ones." i said with a nod.

he nodded in agreement, before a mischievous grin spread across his face. "but maybe i should surprise you. keep you in suspense until the day of the festival." he said, a hint of amusement in his voice. i rolled my eyes playfully as he then continued. "who are you thinking about bringing?"

"everyone i want to bring is either already playing or too far out of my reach." i said.

dominic laughed at that, shaking his head with amusement. "i doubt that. you never know who might say yes." he said, his expression turning thoughtful. "who's on the top of your list?"

"sza, the weeknd, giveon, summer walker." i sighed.

dominic whistled lowly at the list of names. "those are some big names," he said with a nod of appreciation. "you've got good taste, i'll give you that." he sat back, contemplating the list for a moment. "but i wouldn't count yourself out just yet. stranger things have happened."

i groaned out of frustration as i plopped my head onto his lap.

dominic chuckled at my dramatic display, but gently threaded his fingers through my hair in a soothing manner. "hey, it's okay. even if you don't get any of those big names, you're gonna kill it up there on stage. your fans will be there cheering you on, and that's what matters."

i then shot up. "i know who!"

dominic's eyebrows rose in curiosity as he looked at me. "oh yeah? who?" he asked, a hint of excitement in his voice.

"i can't tell you..." i said with a smile.

dominic let out a playful groan, pretending to be wounded by my secret-keeping. "fuck you! how am i supposed to live with the suspense now?" he said dramatically, i knew he was only joking.

i shrugged as i grabbed my phone and hid it from him. "sorry, i have to contact the person." i said.

dominic let out an exaggerated sigh, feigning disappointment. "fine, keep your secrets then," he said with a smirk. he then leaned back against the pillows, pretending to sulk as i typed away on my phone.

"oh, dom?" i said as i looked up.

he looked at me, his expression curious. "yeah?" he said, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

"i know you don't like events, but there's this event tonight...ysl is hosting it or something, and it'd be super cool if we went." i said with raised eyebrows. "we can ditch when we get too bored, just like we did last time."

dominic seemed to hesitate for a moment, mulling over the idea. "i don't know," he said, his tone hesitant. "events aren't really my thing, you know that. but..." he saw the hopeful expression on my face and relented. "but if it's with you, i guess i can make an exception." he finished, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

"are you sure? i don't want you to feel like you have to go." i said.

he nodded, his expression softening as he met my gaze. "i'm sure." he said gently. "i want to be there for you. and who knows, maybe i'll actually have fun." he added with a small smile.

"this isn't fun at all." i admitted. "i'm sorry for dragging you here." i continued.

dominic shrugged off my apology with a gentle smile. "don't worry about it," he said nonchalantly. "this may not be the most thrilling party ever, but it's nice to spend time with you anyway." he took a sip of his drink, his eyes scanning the room.

i felt a surge of fondness for him in that moment, grateful for his patience and understanding. "thanks," i said quietly, taking his hand in mine and giving it a light squeeze.

so i'm thinking the next chapter will be the camp flog gnaw event and then i'll end this story 😔.... see i would do something in the middle of now and the festival, but i can't think of anything and realistically she and dom would be prepping for the event soooo...
