i walked to our mailbox grabbing all the mail. as i walked back to the house, i flipped through the mail to see which ones belonged to me, which is when i noticed mail from solana. i stopped in my tracks and opened the letter. it was an invitation to her deluxe listening party, it also said i could bring a plus one, i smiled to myself as i continued walking inside.

i placed everyone else's mail on the entrance table and walked into my room now sitting on my floor with my notepad on my lap. listening to music to help inspire me, i sang and scribbled down whatever came to my mind at the moment. anaya then barged into my room without knocking, which startled me. "hey?" i said.

"you'll never guess who i just ran into." she said as she looked at me with wide eyes.

"who??" i asked excitedly as i paused my music.

she sat down across from me, pretzel style. "neil."

my jaw dropped when she said neil's name. "what? where did you run into him?" i raised my eyebrows and put my pen and notebook down as my full attention was now on anaya.

"he was at coffee bean right down the street." she said.

i let out a heavy groan as i placed my head in my hands. "i thought he moved back to paris?"

"he only went back for a short period." she explained. "i didn't really talk to him for long, but when i did he kept making little remarks about you...he misses you. he wants you back."

"that is the last thing i need right now..." i said while shaking my head.

"exactly." she sighed. "how are things with your rockstar?" she laughed.

"good! i got invited to solana's listening party that's gonna be tomorrow. and i can bring a plus one...so i think i'll invite him and then he's taking me out tomorrow." i said with a slight blush.

anaya clapped like a child. "aww, elaine i'm proud of you for moving on from that loser. i know you really liked him, but he wasn't good for you...especially if he was holding you back from what you wanna do." she stated. "dominic is literally perfect for you, he's sweet, and hot, and a literal rockstar. it matches your lifestyle." she laughed.

i laughed softly and pulled out my phone. "i'm gonna ask him if he wants to go..." i said as i began typing on my phone.

i looked at anaya. "he's already on the guest list...and he instructed me to bring a friend. you wanna come?" i asked her.

"i would usually love to, but i have this dinner with gq...invite raelynn, i think she really needs to get out of the house." anaya said with a smile.

"i'll go ask her about it now...thanks anaya." i said as i got up.

raelynn's door was still closed so i decided to talk to her from behind the door. "raelynn...are you awake?" i asked softly. i got in response was a groan.

i walked inside, to see an extremely messy room. "what the hell happened here?" i asked her as i looked around at the mess. bottles, wrappers, half eaten food everywhere...i just shook my head.

she looked at me and sat up in bed. "oh hey, elaine..." her voice was a bit hoarse.

"hey rae..." i said as i walked closer to the bed, i didn't sit but i crossed my arms and gave her a soft smile. "so, tomorrow, let's do something."

"i don't wanna do anything, i'd rather stay in bed and rot." she said.

i let out a sigh. "have you eaten today?"

she nodded. "zoë brought me some food before she left earlier."

"just think about it. you and me at a listening party for sza...it's been forever since you and i went out."

she groaned. "there'll probably be press, cameras, and a bunch of annoying people...i don't wanna get dressed.." she sighed.

i bit my bottom lip, thinking about how i could convince her to come with. "think about all of the hot guys that'll be there. the hot celebrities..."

raelynn smirked, "like who? what celebrities are gonna be there?" she asked.

i shrugged. "i'm not sure, but you have to come to figure it out."

she grumbled. "fine i'll go. when is it?"

"tomorrow at 10pm."

she sighed again and nodded. "i'll be ready at ten." she said. i simply nodded and left her room, shutting the door behind me.
