LUCY, MARLEY, AND LUCY'S SHARED APARTMENT
new york, new york
october 6, 2024
monday
11am

i woke up in my messy bedroom like everyday. i slowly fluttered my eyes open, my vision still slightly blurry due to my fatigue. my room was a mess, with clothes thrown all over the floor, my bed unmade, and things everywhere. i silently groaned as i sat up and swung my legs off of the bed, stretching my arms above my head.

i slowly shuffled out of bed, feeling slightly dazed and heavy, due to my hangover. i groggily made my way to my door and opened it, revealing the living room.

there in the middle of the mess was lucy, sitting on the couch in an old oversized shirt, sipping out of a random red solo cup.

i silently observed her for a few moments before making my way over and plopping down on the couch next to her.

she didn't even look slightly better than me. she had an expression of exhaustion on her face, and her hair was a frizzy, greasy mess...obviously from the party last night.

"morning.." she mumbled as i sat down, not even turning her head to look at me.

"this place looks like-" i started to say but marley who wasn't in the room finished my sentence.

"a shit show?" she said from the other room.

i chuckled with a tired tone in response. lucy took another swig of whatever was inside the red solo cup and gagged, making a face after she swallowed the liquid.

"you look terrible, lucy," i said jokingly to which she rolled her eyes and grumbled.

"shut up, you obviously don't look any better," she retorted back.

"marley where even are you?" i called out to her as i walked through the apartment.

"bathroom." she answered.

i nodded and continued to wander through the apartment, observing the aftermath of last night's party.

it looked awful, trash and food everywhere, various clothing articles on the floor, the strong stench of alcohol, and various pieces of decor that used to be in the living room were now missing.

i made my way to the bathroom where i found marley sitting on the floor in front of the toilet, looking just as awful as lucy and i.

"you know you're in every fucking celebrity news article there is, right?" marley said.

my eyes widened at her words as i leaned against the door frame.

"really?" i asked with a questioning tone, not really believing her.

marley groaned as she leaned her head back against the wall behind her. she lazily pointed to her phone, which was sitting on the counter of the sink.

i rolled my eyes and made my way over to the counter, picking up her phone and scrolling through the news feed.

it was all about nicholas and i. the youtube video i had posted about myself living a day in his life got a lot of attention, the photos from when we were seen together in los angeles were being revamped.

"god," i groaned in response, rolling my eyes once again as i kept scrolling through the gossip stories. "i knew that video would make people freak out..." i mumbled as i continued to stare at her phone.

i handed the phone back to her and she let out a scoff.

"the stories have been all over my feed for the past two days. it's annoying as hell." she added as she looked back at her phone.

lucy then walked in, leaning on the table the other side of the doorway. "are we talking about those articles?"

i turned to look at her and nodded faintly. "yeah. it's insane how much the paparazzi care about those photos from when we were shopping.." i said as i rubbed my eyes.

lucy rolled her eyes upon hearing my words. "and they're also all talking about that video you made about living a day in nicholas' life. they can't seem to give it up." she said with a groan.

"have you talked to him? since you got in?" marley inquired.

"yeah, when i landed i let him know i had touched down and he let me know he got back home." i answered.

"i can tell you miss him.." lucy said before letting out a soft chuckle. "you've been acting weird."

i turned my head to look at her. "what do you mean 'acting weird'?" i questioned, not sure what she was getting at.

"you've been all silent and moody," marley added a moment later. "i can't describe it, you've just been acting off, it's obvious you miss him."

i sighed and asked the question i'd been asking myself. "am i falling too hard? i mean, i've only known the guy for a week and still i can't stop thinking about him."

lucy and marley shared a look for a brief second before returning their gazes back to me.

"if he feels the same way, you're fine. and the guy is very obviously swooning for you, so you're good." lucy responded with a casual tone.

marley nodded in agreement. "but, you better tone it down a bit before you scare him off. you don't want him thinking you're obsessed with him."

i nodded slightly, acknowledging their words of advice. i knew all too well what the media thought of me, they had painted me to be an obsessed party girl who only cared about having a good time with the rich and famous. i didn't want nicholas to think that type of thing as well.

"you know me, i don't fall in love easy." i said as i shrugged. "i haven't even dated anyone since shawn."

"we know," lucy said, "which is why we think that you've been acting strange. your last relationship was a bust and you're now starting to catch feelings for someone else after not dating for so long."

i sighed in response and crossed my arms over my chest. "i don't know if it's even possible to fall in love with him. i barely know the guy..." i mumbled. "but i feel like i do."

"well you guys did share a house for a week." marley said. "and you never know someone until you live with them."

i nodded in response. living with him for a week had given me insight into who he was. he wasn't like any actor- an arrogant actor who only cared about money, he was down to earth, funny, charming, considerate, and a lot more caring than i was expecting. we had bonded quickly, and i felt myself developing feelings for him way quicker than i ever had with my last relationship.

"you know what, i'm gonna call him." i said to the girls.

"oh?" lucy said, raising her eyebrows in surprise.

marley clapped her hands quietly. "you go, girl!"

i grabbed my phone from my pajama pants pocket and dialed nick's number.

"put it on speaker." lucy mouthed.

i nodded subtly and pressed the speaker button as the line kept ringing.

it would only take a few moments before suddenly the quiet ringing silenced and a familiar voice spoke. "hello?"

"nick! hi, it's-" i started to say before being interrupted by him.

"i know who it is," he said with a slight chuckle in his tone. "i have caller i.d. remember?"

i laughed faintly as the girls smiled at the response. "right, how are you?" i said.

"i'm good- i've been thinking about you," nick responded, almost instantly.

i felt my heart skip a beat upon hearing his words. lucy and marley shot me a look as if to say, "what did we tell you?"

i bit my lip. "good things i hope?" i questioned jokingly, a smirk appearing on my face.

the two girls continued to smirk as they looked at me silently, listening intently to our conversation.

"only the best." nick's tone was obvious as he responded to my question.

i could practically hear him smile over the phone as he spoke, which made me bite my lip even more to prevent a smile from appearing on my face.

"so what are you up to right now? if i remember correctly, you're either at the gym or leaving it." i said referring to when i spent a day in his life.

nick let out a soft chuckle at my words. "gym. how'd you know?" he asked.

"intuition," i said nonchalantly.

"or you just know my schedule almost too well?" nick teased, his voice taking on a playful tone.

"have you seen the articles?" i asked in a more serious tone.

"about us?" nick questioned. i could hear the uncertainty in his tone.

"yep," i said with a sigh. "they've blown up with pictures from my youtube video, the paparazzi pictures from la..." i added.

"they're being ridiculous." nick said with a small scoff in his voice. "you know the media."

i let out a scoff similar to nick's in response. "unfortunately, i do." i said, knowing all too well what the media was like.

"you're not worried, are you?" nick asked.

i looked at lucy and marley who both had raised eyebrows in an almost accusatory look.

"i mean, not really." i answered, trying to give the girls a convincing look. "are you?"

"no, not at all," nick responded. he hesitated for a moment before speaking again. "if the media wants to make assumptions out of speculation, let them. we know what's true."

i couldn't deny that i liked what he was saying. his confidence and calm demeanor was appealing to me. i felt my face heat up as i swallowed hard.

"you're right," i said in a shaky voice. i silently cursed at myself for having a small reaction to his statement. "anyway, i'll let you get back to working out."

"you want to facetime later?" nick quickly asked before i could hang up the phone.

i looked at lucy and marley who both made an expression that said, "ooh, that's a good sign."

"sure," i answered, not being able to stop my smile from showing on my face. "facetime me later, ok?"

"i will." nick responded before hanging up the line.

i let out a sigh and turned to face lucy and marley, their smirks telling me that i had been acting like a lovesick puppy.

ignoring their looks, i clapped my hands together. "okay chop chop ladies, we have work to do."

lucy groaned as she looked at me. "work? really?"

marley sighed and sat up, resting her chin on her hands. "we're all hungover, can't it wait?"

i rolled my eyes in annoyance at how lazy the two were being. "yeah, work! look at this place," i said, gesturing to the mess laying around our apartment. "don't you think it's time to clean this up?"

"since when do you care about the mess?" lucy questioned, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

"yeah, and why don't we just call a cleaner?" marley added.

"because we don't need a cleaner, we're more than capable of cleaning a few dishes and throwing some papers in the trash," i said with a scoff. "come on, it doesn't take that much time."

lucy and marley both let out a collective groan in response. they were so lazy sometimes.

"c'monnnnn" lucy whined. "we're all hungover. can't we just relax today and clean tomorrow?"

i rolled my eyes at her whining. "nope, unfortunately we can't, we're all cleaning. get up." i said and pointed a finger towards both of them.

THE TRUTH BEHIND LUCKY CLARKE AND NICHOLAS CHAVEZ'S RELATIONSHIP

lucky clarke, nepo and model has recently been seen with rising actor, nicholas alexander chavez. how they met? we have no clue. but we do know that the two were sharing pda in los angeles just last week.

as they have not stepped out exclusively, clarke has posted a photo of nicholas' back profile on an instagram post. she has also made a youtube video titled 'nicholas alexander chavez's day in a life but through me.' where you see her and nicholas participating in his everyday activities.

they seemed quite close in the video and there were a few times you could catch subtle flirting. throughout this, we were able to get a body language operater to explain the way and reasoning behind chavez and clarke's actions, it is said that the two are in a relationship. it may not be official yet, but they are in the process of getting to know each other.

what's next for these two?

2pm

three hours had quickly passed and the entire apartment was now spotless. all the empty bottles from last nights party were thrown on the counter, all of the paper and trash from around the apartment had been thrown out, the living room and kitchen were all clean, and the beds had even been made.

all three of us were now sitting on the couch, looking exhausted from the extensive cleaning we had done.

"this is the cleanest our place has ever been...i could lick the counter if i really wanted to." i said.

"yeah, and it smells like lemon in here," lucy said as she took a sniff of the air.

marley nodded as her stomach grumbled loudly. "all that cleaning made me hungry," she complained.

"yeah, you didn't do much of anything," i said sarcastically, rolling my eyes at her once again.

"hey, i folded some clothes." lucy protested faintly in response.

"yeah, because i made you," i retorted.

marley let out another loud stomach growl. "can we get lunch now?" she said almost pleadingly.

i chuckled as she continued to whine about being hungry. "sure, we can."  i said.

"thank god," lucy said with a sigh before adding on, "let's get some pizza up the street."

i nodded in agreement because pizza did sound good.

we all stood up from the couch and made our way to the front door. just as the two girls walked out of the door and into the lobby, i got a phone call.

nick was facetiming me.

"shit," i said as i looked at the phone and back at them.

"you enjoy your call. we'll bring you back two slices of pepperoni?" marley said with a knowing smirk.

i sighed and nodded. of course the girls knew that the call was nick. i was so predictable.

they both smirked and gave me a 'we've got you' look before leaving towards the pizza place.

i then closed the front door and accepted the call.

nick's face appeared on my phone screen, it was almost comical how fast his face lit up once he saw me.

"hey!" nick said as a wide smile appeared on his face.

his smile was contagious as i smiled back at nick, feeling butterflies begin to flutter in my stomach. "hey," i said as i sat down on the couch. "how was your workout?"

nick chuckled faintly as he shifted his position in the room he was in, which i recognized to be his bedroom. "it was good. very tiring, as usual." he paused and spoke again, "thanks for my gift by the way." he said as he held up the necklace from his chest. "i love it." he added.

a smile tugged at the corners of my mouth upon the mention of the necklace. "of course." i said. i felt flattered that he liked the gift. "i couldn't not get you something after you let me live with you." i added jokingly. "and your super clean house gave me motivation." i said as i flipped my screen to show my squeaky clean apartment.

nick smiled and let out a small laugh as he saw the clean surroundings. "damn. was this all your doing?" he joked.

i chuckled faintly and flipped the camera back to my face. "no, unfortunately not. lucy and marley were forced to help." i said sarcastically.

nick laughed louder at my words. "sounds about right," he said jokingly. "where are they now?" he asked.

"they left to get some pizza, but they said they'd bring me back a slice," i said as i flipped the screen back to me.

i suddenly got a faint feeling that nick was checking me out, which made me raise an eyebrow.

he nodded, "ah," he said hencing that he understood. "so let's see a tour of the place." he suggested.

i shook my head. "nuh uh. you have to come to new york for the tour." i said jokingly.

a smirk appeared on nick's face in response to my comment. he seemed to like that i was implying that he should come to new york.

"i just might have to take you up on that." he said, a hint of playfulness in his voice.

i bit my lip to hold back a smirk as i heard his response. the thought of him coming to new york was both exciting and nerve-wracking to me. it was like the thought could send butterflies to my stomach.

"you should." i said almost flirtatiously.

nick raised his eyebrows faintly, he clearly didn't expect my flirtatious response. a smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. "yeah?" he questioned, almost teasingly.

"yeah," i said more seriously. "you could stay here at my squeaky clean place."

nick chuckled faintly at my words. "how very tempting." he said, his sarcastic tone being obvious.

i laughed faintly in response, enjoying our banter.

our conversation then fell into a brief silence, but a comfortable one.

i stared at nick on the screen as he sat on the other end, his face illuminated by the light coming from his room.

while i was busy staring at him, nick suddenly diverted his attention to the computer next to him. he began typing something on it, his eyes narrowing slightly in concentration.

i tilted my head in curiosity as i watched him. "whatcha doing?"

nick momentarily shifted his gaze from the computer screen to me, a small smirk appearing on his face. "just a little bit of work." he said plainly. he then looked back at the computer.

i raised an eyebrow, still curious as to what he was typing so diligently. "on a sunday? seriously?" i said sarcastically with a small chuckle.

nick's face remained expressionless as he pulled out a credit card and began typing in the numbers into the computer.

my eyes widened slightly as i saw him do that. "are you ordering something?" i asked curiously, still somewhat baffled by his actions.

nick looked up from the computer screen and nodded faintly in response to my question. "yeah, just a small purchase." he said casually. he then looked back at the computer as he continued to type in the credit card numbers.

i leaned back against the couch, still curious as to what he was ordering but not wanting to be too nosy. i decided to just play it cool and wait for him to reveal it himself.

a few moments passed and nick finally looked up from the computer screen, the action grabbing my attention.

he chuckled faintly as he saw the curious expression on my face. "are you curious about what i'm purchasing?"

i didn't even try to deny the obvious. "yeah, a little bit." i admitted with a chuckle. i couldn't stand the mystery.

nick chuckled again as he heard my response. he then smiled faintly and let out a sigh before answering. "if you must know, i've decided to book a flight to new york." he said casually.

my eyes widened in surprise at his response. i couldn't believe what he had just said. he was booking a flight to new york? to come see me?

nick chuckled faintly at my surprised expression. "yes, to see you." he said, almost as if he could hear my thoughts. "is that a problem?"

i had to resist the urge to smile too hard, the thought of him flying to new york was both exciting and nerve-wracking to me.

"when?" i asked, unable to hold back my curiosity.

nick chuckled faintly and glanced down at the computer screen before looking back up at me. "i was looking at a flight on wednesday." he paused for a moment and spoke again. "unless that doesn't work with your schedule." he said jokingly.

a small chuckle escaped my throat in response to his statement. "oh yeah, let me just check my crazy busy schedule for wednesday." i responded sarcastically.

nick chuckled louder, thoroughly amused by my sarcasm. "alright smartass," he said jokingly. "i'll take that as you being free."

i rolled my eyes in an almost exaggerated manner and gave him an 'obviously' look. "duh. i'm always free for you." i said in a teasing voice.

that statement caused a grin to appear on nick's face. "good to know." he said with a hint of sarcasm in his tone.

"and, you're staying here, right?" i said with a big smile.

nick chuckled faintly and nodded. "yep," he said plainly. "i'm crashing at your place." he added jokingly.

a small laugh escaped my throat in response to his comment. the thought of nick staying at my place both excited and nervous me, but i tried to keep my composure.

"oh, i can't wait." i said in a sarcastic tone. "how long are you staying until?" i asked.

"how about wednesday through saturday?" he suggested.

i nodded excitedly, "it sounds perfect."

just then the front door opened and lucy and marley entered the apartment.

"the girls just got back with my lunch. i'll see you wednesday, right?" i said to him.

nick smiled faintly as he heard the other girls return. "yeah. wednesday, baby." he replied.

"and don't worry, i'll pick you up from the airport...just text me the flight instructions." i said with a soft smile.

nick nodded and chuckled faintly. "will do." he paused for a moment before adding, "i'll see you then."

"see ya." i said with a smile, before we hung up. i then looked at the two girls and jumped up and down. "nicholas is coming to new york!" i exclaimed.

upon my ecstatic declaration, both lucy and marley quickly dropped the pizza on the kitchen counter and joined me by jumping up and down.

the three of us jumped in circles around the living room, squealing in excitement like little girls.

"he's coming to new york!" the three of us sang together.

we continued to jump around in joyful circles, feeling like three children who had just received the most amazing news in the world.

it was silly, we were all fully-grown adults, yet there we were, acting like we had just won the lottery. but then again, nick was my lottery.
