• Michael Morbius [02]

Michael, if....
an unexpected improvement occurs

•••

No matter how intelligent some people were, such as a biochemist with a Nobel Prize, if life had other plans, there was not much to be done.

The disease Michael suffered from was one of the rarest in existence and thus, inevitably ended in death. It had taken him a while to figure out that it was a blood disease in which the red blood cells disintegrated.

"And you're sure?" you asked Michael uncertainly, as the experiments he was subjecting himself to became more and more experimental and absurd, "It's crazy, you know it. You can't tell me it isn't."

"For years people or their project have been called or declared crazy as soon as it went beyond the human mind," Michael replied, handing you the vial to inject him with, "There are planes or ships that weigh tons. Who believed that they could stand on the sky or on the water. According to this, what do I have to lose?"

"The remaining time you have," it didn't change Michael's intention though, so you merely stroked his hair with your fingertips, "Don't blame me if it doesn't work. You're the genius, not me."

The serum that was in the vial was made from the bodies of vampire bats and was combined with electroshock therapy.

No wonder you were less than enthusiastic. If the remedy alone, had not been questionable enough, then electricity had to be added. What electricity alone could do to the human body should normally be reason enough not to do it. But not Michael.

In the first hours after the 'treatment', it was to be assumed that it did not work, like all the others before, but after a few days, the whole thing looked a little different.
