EXIT WOUNDS.
007. | ❛ out here.

AFTER MUCH DELIBERATIONS BETWEEN THE TEAM, THEY HAD COME TO A UNANIMOUS DECISION OF HELPING THE YOUNG GIRL IN EXCHANGE FOR HELP WITH THE LEGION OF ROBOTS ATTACKING THEM. The scientist didn't view helping them as a burden, and she was more than happy to if she had the chance of getting her cure. Once Mila was out of her cell, she suddenly felt like a small fish in a big pond. She spoke confidently to all of them freely when she was behind the glass, but now that she was out here, it was suddenly harder to express those feelings and ideas. Mila started to fidget with her fingers as she walked down a corridor that didn't seem to end, alongside Steve who was bringing her to the lab that Bruce and Tony were in.

"You don't have to be nervous. We aren't so intimidating, and you didn't seem to be afraid when you were in that cell." Steve told her as they circled around a corner. Nervous wouldn't be a word she would use; Mila was terrified, but not because of them. Her mimd quaked with every thought that she could lose control of the powers she hardly understood.

"There's a difference between out here and in there. In that cell,
I was safe. Out here, there's no telling what I can do." Mila responded with her voice getting faint with every passing word.

"Why don't you feel safe out here?" Steve asked as they continued forward, and suddenly a surge of power rose within her causing her to grab her head and fall to the ground.

She brought her knees to her chest and held her hands over her ears, grasping at her temples of the pain shooting up and down her body. Closing her eyes tightly, the voice of Steve couldn't get her out of her current state. Mila feared this exact moment because she didn't know whether this was an end to her life or the appearance of her alter ego, Oz.

Oz was the complete opposite of Mila, they were like Jekyll and Hyde. And there was only a single moment where she took control of her body. As Oz, it pushed all the negative traits out and into the world. Her cruel and vindictiveness spirit while under Oz's control was maddening, and almost led her to kill an innocent victim for replying sarcastically to her at a bar. She knew that it was a small instance, but who knew what could happen if she was pushed into a deadlier scenario?

The desperate scientist heavy breaths started to push her into a hyperventilating manner, to where Steve didn't know how to console her further. He had position her legs adjacent to the floor, no longer in a curled fetal state. Slowly, she started to clam herself down and it only ignited again when she opened her eyes, and knew that it reflected a emerald glow. Her throat started to close up, and she started to fight for air. Steve tried to snap her back into reality, and she couldn't hear his voice. Instead, it was more of a buzzing that was canceling out his voice.

Just when his options had run out, Bruce had come to his side. The male scientist removed his glasses, and analyzed the situation of the exasperated Mila. He could view the sweat pooling down her face, and the green glowing more furiously than ever. It seemed that her situation was getting worse if she didn't physically link herself back to reality.

Bruce waved a hand in front of Mila, trying to assess if she could see and slowly try to pull her back to a calmer state. He held a one finger up, hoping for a verbal reaction from her. When he didn't hear her delicate voice speak, he tried to figure out how to figure out another method.

She couldn't get out words because she knew that the only person that could help her would be Albert; he knew how to manage her panic attacks and what exact method to use, but he wasn't here because of her.

"Mila, you have to focus. That's the only way that you're going to call yourself down. Tell me of three things you could touch." She heard Bruce's voice come to through all the buzzing.

She scampered to fell around and start naming the things that she felt, "The floor, my hair, and your hand."

"Okay, you're doing good. What are two things you can hear?" Bruce continued to ask her questions, and she could feel her body start to calm itself down as it has always down in the past.

"Steve's heavy breaths, and your voice." Mila said with breaths further and further apart, and as it began she drop, she started to let go of pressure that she had on Bruce's hand.

"What's one thing you can see?" Bruce said knowing very well that it was the last step to have Mila open her eyes without her green orbs entrapping her to the powers.

Calmly, the two men waited for an reaction from Mila. With one final deep breath, she opened her eyes and uttered, "You."

Once she composed herself together again, she outstretched to hug Bruce. He was taken back from the sudden touch of their skin; he didn't have any physical contact in a while and couldn't deny but feel a spark of joy of the warmth and sympathy that extended from her hug. She also went to hug Steve for helping in the slightest, and assured him that what had happened wasn't his fault. Steve continuously apologized that his question must've triggered a memory for that caused her attack, but she assured that he wasn't the cause of it.

Mila got to her feet with the two men being extremely cautious of her, and explained that she would be better off in a room in the Tower, and a good nights sleep would be good after the attack she had. Still leading her to her room, Steve opened the door and carefully led her inside. She took her first few steps to the bed and sat firm on it.

"This is going to be your room for the duration. And if you need anything, I'm just down the hall." He went to go exit and was halted by Mila's voice.

"Wait, Steve." She said rising to her feet a little to quickly. "You asked why I didn't feel safe out here, and I guess it's because of what happened right now. Those attacks I have are getting more frequent, and I'm scared that one of those times will result in me exploding and revert to my other side. She isn't nice, and I wouldn't want her to come out. My deadly side is one that I can't control. She's a lot worse than I am, and I can't control her. That scares me! That I'm not in control of my body, and I might harm someone. Nobody deserves to die because of my desire to achieve greater. That's why I'm afraid."

The woman holding her hand to prevent her cries from flowing it was the initiative that made Steve go for an embrace.

"I get that you're scared. And it's okay to be scared, because it only makes you fight harder in the long run."

#stila for the win.
I lowkey ship them but this is more of a sister/brother relationship.
We do see a little of Brila in this scene, and it'll start to increase as we divulge further into the plot line.
