Escapade
<The Bomb's perspective>
Picking the lock concentratedly, with the Roach silently pacing, a nervous sweat breaks out.
My brow furrowing as I realise my pin broke, I throw it to the floor in frustration.
I have to face it: were stuck.
If only I could just sneak out and find Jude, I could tell her that Cardan's been bewitched by Nicasia's clever love spell.
That evil Orlagh and scheming cunning Nicasia.
It's all for power.
The Roach puts his hand on my shoulder, pursing his lips, "My dear, be patient, we won't be here forever."
I groan, fingering my white hair, which is greasy and unwashed.
"There's only one more thing to try," I say determinedly.
I scream.
I scream, and I scream.
The Roach's eyes widen and he stifles an amused laugh as I scowl.
I collapse on the floor and pretend to be having a seizure, giving the Roach a pointed look.
He gets the message and yells, "Help!"
After about seven long seconds, two of the guards rush to the cage door, one of them grunting panickedly, "What's going on you vermin?"
The Roach takes my pale hand and wheezes, "Help her, please.."
The guards exchange a glance and shrug, deciding we're too weak. They unlock the door.
Obviously, no one told them who we are.
As soon as one of the guards tries to pick me up, I knee him in the gut and kick him to the floor, crushing his throat.
Immediately the other guard tries to get me into a chokehold.
I strangle, spluttering at the unexpected move.
Then the Roach grabs the guards sword and plunges it into his stomach, twisting it as the guard collapses in pain.
I grab the other guards' swords.
Seeing hope for escape, we run, dodging, spearing and shoving incredibly fast, feeling unbeatable.
Soon, we're out of the tower and we race to the stable where I grow a ragwort stalk hurriedly.
In no time we're off to the mortal world.
