A Proposal

The moon hangs high, casting an ethereal glow over the revel, its silvery light filtering through the dense canopy of the ancient forest. The air hums with magic and mischief, a mix of laughter and music weaving through the towering trees.

My court is a riot of colour and sound, faeries dancing and leaping under the night sky, their revelry a testament to my reign.

I stand apart from the chaos, my eyes fixed on Nicasia. She moves with the grace of a predator, her sea-colored gown shimmering like the waves of her ocean home. She is a vision, a siren amidst the madness, and I feel the familiar stir of possessiveness.

I stride towards her, my confidence unshakable.

The crowd parts as I approach, sensing the gravity of the moment. Nicasia turns, her eyes meeting mine with a mixture of defiance and curiosity.

She knows me too well, but tonight is different. Tonight, I will claim what is mine. I tink my wine glass to get the crowds' attention.

"Nicasia," I say, my voice carrying over the din of the revel. She arches an eyebrow, a smirk playing on her lips.

"Prince Cardan," she replies, her tone mocking but laced with something deeper. She enjoys this game, the push and pull of our desires.

I take her hand, pulling her close. Her scent is intoxicating, a blend of salt and seaweed, and it takes all my control not to crush her to me.

"Marry me," I say, my words soft but firm, carrying over the crowd and their bated breath, "Be my queen."

The crowd falls silent. She laughs, the sound like tinkling bells, but there is an edge to it.

"And why should I, Cardan? What makes you think I want to be tied to you?"

I lean in, my lips brushing her ear. "Because you are mine, Nicasia. You belong at my side, ruling over this chaotic court. You and I, we are unstoppable together."

She pulls back, searching my eyes. For a moment, I see the flicker of uncertainty, but then it is gone, replaced by her usual confidence.

"Very well, Prince Cardan," she says, her voice a purr. "I will marry you. But know this, I will never be tamed."

I smile, triumph surging through me. "I would not have it any other way."

The crowd goes wild, supporting us.
