Standing at her locker, Rosemary's ear twitched as she heard someone walk up behind her and turning around, holding her books to her chest, she saw Daniel standing there with a small smile on his face.

'Hey Rose'

With a small smile spreading across her lips, a small blush formed on Rosemary's face and she held her books closer to her chest, her tail quickening in it's movement.

"H-Hey Daniel",Rosemary stuttered and she cleared her throat, trying to shake away the strange, fluttering sensation that brewed in her stomach,"Oh, before I forget, I wanted to thank you for last night. You-.. You didn't have to carry me home.."

A small blush slowly blossomed on his cheeks and Daniel cleared his throat, reaching up to itch the back of his head with a nervous smile on his face.

'W-Well, you had looked so peaceful and I didn't want to wake you..',Daniel recalled,'So.. I- I thought that carrying you wouldn't have bothered you..'

With a small smile, Rosemary chuckled softly and slowly turned around, closing her locker before looking back towards him.

"Still, thank you",Rosemary thanked him.

With a small smile, Daniel looked into the girl's vermillion eyes and felt as if he was getting lost within her fiery gaze.

'You're welcome..',Daniel said.

Sitting at their usual table for lunch, Rosemary and Daniel were munching on their lunches as Kai and Aphmau talked.

'So, I've been meaning to ask you',Kai spoke up, causing Aphmau to turn his way,'What's the notepad for?'

Raising her eyebrow in confusion, eyes of vermilion turned towards her sister and Rosemary saw that Aphmau did in fact have a notepad in her hands; which she furiously wrote in, her hand almost a blur as she wrote.

Immediately stopping what she was doing, Aphmau turned her chocolate brown eyes towards the Meif'wa and her eyes widened; nervously.

'O-Oh, this?',Aphmau questioned, glancing towards the notepad in her hand,'Taking notes on.. werewolves.. and stuff'

Confused as to why she was writing about werewolves, Kai tilted his head to the side and furrowed his eyebrows together.

'Werewolves?'

He was confused as to why she wanted to take notes on werewolves and why she hadn't just asked her sister; who was indeed a werewolf.

Looking back down towards her food, a small smile twitched at Rosemary's lips and she turned towards Daniel, after taking a bite of her sandwich.

Watching as eyes of the ocean turned her way, a small smile twitched at Rosemary's lips and watching as he smiled back, she felt her heart flutter within her chest.

'I'm just interested in learning more about them, but.. I'm kind of afraid to',Aphmau stated.

Feeling her ears pull back for a moment, Rosemary shook her head and locked eyes with Daniel once more, a small smile forming on her face.

"So Daniel, I wanted to ask you..",Rosemary started.

Hearing her speak up, Daniel sat up straighter and his ears perked up, the right one twitching slightly as a look of curiosity and confusion filled his face, tilting his head to the side.

Adorable.

'Yeah?',He questioned.

Eyes of vermilion stared at the forest-haired boy and she began to feel a strange sensation fill her; it felt strange and it made her nervous.

She never felt this way before and for once, she was actually nervous.

And Rosemary decided, that she'd definitely have to talk with Aphmau about this. She had put it off for a bit and she decided that she wasn't going to any longer, she was going to ask for help.

Which made her feel strange since she's never really asked Aphmau for help before, it was always the other way around.

Seeing that he was still waiting for her question, Rosemary cleared her throat and shook her head to rid herself of those thoughts for now, before she gave her friend a small smile.

"I- I was wondering if.. you'd want to hang out s-sometime?",Rosemary questioned and slowly began to curse herself in her head for stuttering.

What was happening to her?

With a bright grin spreading across his lips, Rosemary watched as Daniel immediately perked up and his tail began to sway as fast as possible, his smile making it seem as if the stars dulled in comparison.

'Yeah, I'd love to!',Daniel exclaimed and slowly calmed down, clearing his throat as a small tint of red blossomed across his cheeks,'I- I mean, that'd be great. I'd love to'

With a small laugh leaving her lips, Rosemary's vermilion eyes seemed to glisten with stars as she looked at him and Daniel felt a wave of calmness wash over his body as his eyes looked into her's.

"R-Really!?",Rosemary exclaimed and felt her lips pull up even more, revealing her sharp canines,"I mean.. um.. good, then I'll text you later and we can figure out where we want to go"

Looking into her eyes, Daniel couldn't explain the feeling he felt and decided that he was going to figure it out, but looking at her now, made him wonder something.

He never understood why everyone was so afraid of her and when he had heard the stories about the ruthless beta who'd hurt anyone who even glanced her way, he grew fearful of what she represented and who she could've been; so much so that he never wanted to cross paths with her.

But when he had finally met her and gotten to know her just a bit more, Daniel began to realize that all of her brutal actions and words were only to cover up who she truly was.

'That sounds great!'

Sure she could definitely hurt a wolf or two if they messed with her, but he realized that she'd only ever go at someone if they came at her sister or someone she loved.

Or if they provoked her to the point where she attacked, which most of the werewolves in this school tended to do and that caused her to attack.

'Hey Aphmau, let me tell you something'

Having been quiet for a while, Daniel and Rosemary's ears twitched in unison as Kai's voice filled the air, causing the two to turn towards Aphmau and Kai, realizing that they were having a conversation as well.

And Aphmau looked kind of upset.

What did she miss?

'Hey Aphmau, let me tell you something',Kai started,'Learning about other people is a wonderful thing'

'It is?'

Confused as to what they were talking about, Daniel and Rosemary looked between the two; both with curiosity but one's eyes were narrowed in on the Meif'wa, her lips twitching up as she growled lowly.

'Yes',Kai answered,'In fact, I wish more people were like that. It makes it easier to understand each other'

Looking between the two, Rosemary began to seriously wonder what she had missed and her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

She was a bit lost.

'But I feel like I don't belong'

Hearing her sister saying this, a small whine left Rosemary's lips and her ears slowly pulled back, resting against her hair as she stared at her sister.

She understood the feeling and in the past, she had hoped that Aphmau wouldn't ever feel the same way.

But she was and she didn't know how to help her.

'Don't let that stop you, look around',Kai stated.

Eyes of chocolate slowly looked around the cafeteria and took in the sight of all of the students sitting together, laughing and eating.

Some Meif'wa sat with werewolves and humans, while some werewolves only sat with humans and others sat with only Meif'wa.

And some humans only sat together.

'Everyone is apart of this world and it doesn't matter who you are or where you're from, we should all strive to get to know each other in some way, shape or form',Kai explained,'So even if you weren't interested at first, you are now and knowing is half the battle'

Rosemary had to admit that even though she was still wary of Kai at times, he was quite smart and knew how to cheer someone up.

And some of the things he said tended to make sense half of the time.

Lifting her iced tea to her lips, Rosemary looked between the two and slowly lowered the glass, placing it on the table.

'Was that a quote?',Aphmau questioned.

Stifling a laugh, Rosemary covered her mouth and looked away from the two, haven almost spit out her drink.

Swallowing the drink down, a small cough-like chuckle left Rosemary's lips and feeling someone softly patting her back, she slowly looked up, connecting eyes with Daniel; who gave her a worried look but seeing the small smile on her face and hearing the laugh that left her lips, caused a small smile to spread across his lips as she thanked him.

'Look, I had a great heartfelt moment going on and I didn't know how to end it',Kai stated and a small chuckle left his lips,'But, you get what I'm saying, right? Besides, no one can blame you for trying and if you make the world a better place because of it, well, that's all that matters to me'

Hearing a rushed heartbeat filling her ears, Rosemary's left ear twitched and she slowly looked up, looking between the two.

That better not have been..

Slowly turning her gaze towards her sister, eyes of vermilion took in the sight of a cherry red blush forming across her sister's skin and a strange look filling her eyes.

'Thanks Kai..'

Hearing the bell ring, the four looked up at the ceiling and slowly stood to their feet, heading out of the cafeteria.

Haven followed her alpha around as she asked a lot of the werewolves, and at times Rosemary, quite a few questions and the two had gathered quite a bit of notes to help Aphmau understand a lot more.

Once they had finished, the two sat down on a couch in one of the classroom and Aphmau opened the notebook, reading the first note she had took.

'The omega; the omega is the lowest rank in the werewolf pack, often dismissive and separated from his peers. If he approaches the alpha and tries to become alpha, he's automatically resented'

Glancing at Rosemary from the corner of her eye, Aphmau began to understand why she had acted the way she had towards Ein and began to feel even worse.

Rosemary was only following her instincts and she had basically shunned her because of it.

Clearing her throat, Aphmau looked back towards the book and seeing one of the topics she had wondered the most about, caused her to perk up.

'The beta; the beta rank is the highest ranking wolf in the pack just below the Alpha couple. The Beta wolf is essentially the second-in-command of the wolf pack and beyond this most significant point, the Beta is otherwise similar to wolves in the High rank. It is a beta's job to protect the pack when the alphas are away and even protect the alpha's themselves. When the Alpha's are absent (which for reason can be surveying areas, chosing new territory, etc), it is the Beta's job to make sure the pack is organized and under control. If the Alpha wolf dies or steps down from their position and leaves their current pack, the beta is either challenged for leadership, or is automatically made Alpha. If an alpha male is missing from the rank, it is made the new alpha females job to find an alpha male. While it may seem strange, it is quite natural for the beta to befriend and protect the omega from the other wolves, for the beta is one of the only wolves who could see them as an equal..'

Slowly understanding, Aphmau let out a small hum and slowly turned her gaze to the side, staring off for a moment.

'So.. did Rose... and why is Ein..'

Standing from her seat, Aphmau wrapped her arm around Rosemary's and dragged her along with her, causing the beta to let out a small yelp of shock.

She'd have to get used to this again.

Making it to the gym, Rosemary began to wonder why they were there, but seeing Ein, she slowly began to realize why and let out a small chuckle as she slowly shook her head.

Of course.

Following her sister inside, Rosemary watched as Ein's ear twitched at the sound of their footsteps and turning around, his eyes widened once he had seen them.

Jumping to his feet, Ein immediately backed away from the two and slowly looked towards the beta, her fiery gaze locking onto him, causing the boy to quickly look towards the ground and back up slightly.

'I found out what being the omega means',Aphmau stated.

Eyes of steel slowly looked towards the ravenette and looking between her and Rosemary, Ein watched as the beta slowly nodded.

Letting out a small sigh, steel and chocolate connected as one, causing Ein to slowly stuff his hands in his pockets, a small frown on his face.

'So.. you really didn't know',Ein stated.

'I told you, I'm human',Aphmau stated.

Slowly turning his gaze towards the ground, a feeling of shame began to flow through his body and Ein let out a small sigh.

'I'm sorry if I made life harder for you by being around you',Aphmau apologized,'That wasn't my intent'

Turning her gaze towards her sister, Aphmau's chocolate brown eyes looked into Rosemary's vermilion one's and watched as her ears pulled back.

Looking to the side, Rosemary's ears pulled back against her head and a small sigh left her lips as she shifted between her feet, a low growl of aggravation escaped before she huffed, slowly shaking her head.

"And, I'm.. sorry-",Rosemary spit out hesitantly and looked up, steel and vermilion connecting,"-.. for almost attacking you"

Realizing that she was trying to apologize and that was the best he'd get, a small and hesitant smile formed on Ein's face as he accepted her apology.
