Walking through the halls, two sisters quickly ran past a group of girls and neither noticed as one of the girl's held out her leg, causing the older twin to turn around as a snarl left her lips, the fur of her ears and tail standing on edge.
Textbooks, papers and folders laid scattered along the floor and giggles filled the air as Aphmau held her scraped knee, her chocolate eyes looking up at the one's guilty as her sister moved in front of her; blocking her body with her own.
Ivy and her little posse.
Ice and magma connected as one and electricity crackled between them as the air thickened, a low snarl leaving Rosemary's lips as she stared at the girl and a fiery look filled Ivy's eyes as she stared at the werewolf, her hands clenching into fists.
Eyes of crimson twinkled in the luminescent light and fur of caramel gently glistened in the light.
Ever since last year, the two girl's had become enemies as Ivy believed that Rosemary had a crush on Garroth, but the two were just friends and the pink-haired girl had made sure to make her sisters school year a living hell after she found out that Aphmau was actually the one that liked Garroth.
But when she had gone after her sister, Rosemary had quickly put the girl in her place and ever since, the two had a hatred for each other; Ivy mostly hated her because she had lost the fight.
A low groan left Aphmau's lips and she rolled her eyes at the girl's as they continued to laugh.
'You guys are really funny, you know that?',Aphmau spat sarcastically.
With a smirk; that reminded Rosemary of the devil himself, Ivy only shrugged her shoulders and gave the sisters an innocent look.
'It's not my fault that you weren't watching where you were going',Ivy stated.
Vermilion eyes darkened into eyes of magma and pupils of darkness shrunk in size as a haze of crimson filled the beta's vision as she rushed forward, her hand bunched up the girl's uniform as she pulled her forward, a low growl escaping her lips as they came face to face.
The beta's eyes shone in the iridescent lights hanging from above and teeth of a canine as sharp as a thousand knives poked through as her lips parted in a snarl, teeth of razor blades fully on display as fur of mocha bristled in anger, a splash of pearl white painting the tips of her tail and her ears.
"And it won't be my fault when I beat you into such a bloody pulp, that your family won't even recognize you",Rosemary snarled and looked towards the other two, causing the girls to quickly take steps back as small screams left their lips.
A soft caress of warmth wrapped around her arm and waves of fire spread across her skin as her ears buzzed with white noise, her devilish eyes blazing with fury as they shone a dangerous scarlet. Small statics of a calming electricity buzzed through her veins and her shoulders slowly sagged as her sister's thumb rubbed calming circles on her hand, a low hum leaving her lips and it was just low enough that only she could hear it.
With her vermilion eyes staring into Ivy's sky blue one's, Rosemary released her grip on the girl and pushed her away from her, watching as the girl stumbled back; a fire igniting within her eyes.
Before the girl's could attack one another, a deep voice spoke up and Rosemary's left ear twitched in response, all eyes turning the students way.
'Now now, that wasn't very nice of you to do'
There stood a Meif'wa with eyes of sandstone orange and his hair was the shade of a tangerine as it glistened in the light, cat ears the color of a plum sat on the top of his head, ginger fur coated the inside of his ears.
He wore the normal school uniform and he had it in a generic style with light blue slacks.
The red eyed beauty had to admit that he was quite handsome, but honestly, he didn't seem like her type. Just by looking at him Rosemary could tell that he seemed like the type of person to say things that could offend someone without meaning to.
And that would not clash well with her personality.
'And who are you?',Ivy spat out, a venomous tone in her voice.
Rolling her eyes in annoyance, Rosemary was tempted to attack the girl then and there, but she didn't want to risk getting suspended on the first day of school, her mother would kill her.
And it would be even worse if she got expelled.
The only reason that Ivy hated her twin was because that she was obsessed with one of Rosemary's best friends; Garroth Ro'Meave, and ever since Aphmau and Garroth had become friends, Ivy was determined to make the girl's life a living hell.
She had tried to do the same with Rosemary but, well, that didn't end to well.
'Just a passerby',The Meif'wa stated,'I had seen what had happened here and I think that you owe her an apology. And I think that if I hadn't arrived, this werewolf would've won that fight'
With a smug grin, eyes of vermilion turned Ivy's way and sharp canines poked through rose pink lips as a feral grin formed on Rosemary's face, her eyes gleaming as she itched for a fight with the pink haired girl.
The Meif'wa was right, she definitely would've beaten her into a pulp.
A stubborn Hmph left the girl's lips and Ivy rolled her eyes, neither her or her posse showed the fear that they were feeling as they stubbornly scowled at the sisters.
'Whatever',Ivy spit venomously and turned towards her group,'Come on'
As they began to walk away, Rosemary was half tempted to finish what she had started but as her ears twitched as the sound of the Meif'wa moving close, she decided against it and turned towards Aphmau.
A small sigh left Aphmau's lips and she looked up at the boy, her eyes soft as she thanked him.
'Hey, thanks for trying but, it's not worth it',Aphmau stated, her amber eyes turning her sisters way and the boy looked towards Rosemary as well,'Rosemary's the only one who can usually scare them off, but this time I think they got too cocky'
'Well, it's worth it to ask for an apology. Are you okay?'
Hesitating, Aphmau slowly rubbed her arm and shifted her weight onto her other foot, her eyes glancing towards the ground.
'I'm fine, just a little startled',Aphmau stated and she looked towards Rosemary,'But, Rose would never let them hurt me'
A small huff left Rosemary's lips and she crossed her arms, a low growl leaving her lips as her tail gently swayed behind her, her fur bristling in anger.
"They just got lucky, if cat boy here hadn't showed up then I would've shown them not to mess with my baby sister",Rosemary stated, an irritated look on her face.
A small gasp left Aphmau's lips and a look of shock formed on her face as she turned towards her sister, seeing the small smirk on her lips as she stared at her with her crimson eyes.
'Hey! We're twins, dummy!',Aphmau stated, a small pout on her lips as she crossed her arms over her chest,'We're the same age'
With a small wink in her sister's direction, Rosemary turned her gaze towards the Meif'wa and Aphmau shook her head, rolling her eyes with a small smile painting her lips.
Even though Rosemary loved to tease her since she was born a few seconds before her, Aphmau didn't mind too much when she called her, her 'baby sister' at times but sometimes, it got kind of annoying.
Since they are twins.
Everyone always thought that Rosemary was the oldest since she was a few inches taller and no one ever considered that they were twins. No matter how much they looked alike, everyone always thought that Aphmau was the younger sister.
'Anyway.. I've got to pick up these—..'
With a small sigh, Aphmau looked towards the ground and seeing that her books were no longer on the floor and the boy held them all in his hands.
Blinking in shock, a small noise left Rosemary's lips and she slowly analyzed the Meif'wa in front of her.
That was quick.
How did he pick them up so fast that she didn't even notice?
'-..books?',Aphmau said and was just as shocked as Rosemary was.
It seemed as if time stopped as orange and caramel connected as one, electricity crackling between them as everything around them faded into nothing but white noise.
Eyes of magma looked between the two as fur of chocolate slowly began to bristle as a low growl escaped past lips of red, canines stabbing into the gentle flesh of her bottom lip as she snarled, her eyes narrowed in on the boy.
'So.. umm.. can I have my books back?',Aphmau questioned.
As if remembering where they were, the Meif'wa snapped out of his trance and blinked rapidly, shaking his head as he slowly handed Aphmau her books.
'Oh.. yeah, here',He said, giving the brunette a gentle smile.
Bidding the boy farewell, Aphmau hurried past him and turned around the corner, while eyes of citrus watched her walk away, the tail of a cat slowly starting to sway.
Suddenly, it felt as if fire was burning at skin as the heat of a stare was directed his way and with a shiver, the Meif'wa slowly turned around only to be met with a dark gaze of vermilion eyes.
The color of blood shone brightly under the lights as a dark glare was thrown his way and with a gulp, the Meif'wa slowly turned his gaze towards the ground, clearing his throat.
Staring for a moment longer, a huff escaped Rosemary's lips and she slowly walked past him, throwing the Meif'wa an evil eye as she turned the corner.

Walking into the principals office, Aphmau walked towards the bookshelf as Rosemary stood by the door, leaning against the doorway as she watched her sister.
Putting the books back on the shelf, a small huff of relief left Aphmau's lips and she looked towards Rosemary with a gentle smile.
'Phew.. we have fifteen minutes until classes start',Aphmau stated, a gentle smile on her face.
A low groan left Rosemary's lips and she threw her head back, lightly hitting it against the stone wall, closing her eyes as she let out a huff, her tail no longer moving.
"Aww man, this day feels so long",Rosemary stated, a small whine clear within her tone,"We should've never become mentors, Aph, it just makes the day feel so much longer"
Gently agreeing with her sister, a small hum left Aphmau's lips and her eyes brightened as an idea came to her head, a gentle smile on her face.
Seeing the change in her expression, Rosemary perked up and her ears stood up straight, her eyes gleaming with curiosity as she watched her sister take out her phone.
Hearing as her phone began to call whoever Aphmau was calling, Rosemary slowly walked towards her sister and looked over her shoulder, but seeing the name made the beta perk up even more.
'Hello?'
Hearing; one of, her best friend's voice, a small laugh left Rosemary's lips and she gently grabbed the phone as Aphmau handed it to her, before she put it on speaker.
"Aaron, hey!",Rosemary greeted enthusiastically, her tail quickly whipping back and forth,"It's been a while since we've talked to you"
A moment of silence was all that was heard and Rosemary became worried a moment, wondering if it had gone to voicemail and he didn't really pick up.
'Rose, hey! It's been like, what? Three weeks since we last talked, right?'
With a small pout, Rosemary's ears fell flat against her head and her tail stopped it's continuous wagging.
He knew exactly how long it's been.
"Exactly, since you've barely talked to me and only talked to Aph!",Rosemary stated and pretended to let out a small sob, even though she knew he'd catch on right away,"I feel so betrayed.."
A light laugh carried through the speaker and Rosemary grinned, extremely proud of herself.
Ever since the two had become friends, they'd constantly tease one another and playfully banter; even sometimes fighting over Aphmau and who she liked more.
But that was all just for fun and they even began to consider each other siblings.
'Wait a minute.. aren't you two in class right now?',Aaron questioned.
With sweat slowly falling down their temples, Rosemary and Aphmau looked at each other, trying to decide who would say what.
'Yeah.. it starts soon but we wanted to call you to see how your classes were going',Aphmau stated.
A low hum left Aaron's lips and he answered them, telling the twins how his classes didn't start for a few more days, so he was just unpacking his stuff for the time being.
With a small frown, Rosemary considered her friend lucky since he wouldn't have classes for a bit while she was going to suffer and it would specifically be in math.
Which she usually had Aaron help her with and since he wasn't here anymore, she would most definitely fail.
'Hey Aph, are you.. going to be alright this year?',Aaron questioned.
Sputtering out nonsense in response, Aphmau looked towards her twin for help and Rosemary quickly looked away, minding her own business.
She was on her own for this one.
'W-what! Pfft..-',Aphmau sputtered out,'Of course I'm going to be'
A deep sigh resonated through the phone and Rosemary could tell that Aaron was shaking his head, it was clear that he was worried.
'Well, you don't really call this sudden unless you're nervous',Aaron stated.
Nodding in agreement, Rosemary rose her eyebrows and was quite impressed with how well Aaron knew her sister.
'Alright, well.. I- I.. am kind of nervous',Aphmau stuttered,'And since you're my best friend—'
A look of offense quickly flashed across Rosemary's face and Aphmau looked up at her at the sound of her gasp of offense, causing the raven-haired twin to grimace.
'One of my best friends..',Aphmau fixed,'I kind of thought that you'd be able to.. calm my nerves'
A noise of shock filled Rosemary's ears and her right ear twitched at the sound, causing her to tilt her head.
'Oh, yeah.. alright',Aaron said, letting out a hum of thought,'So.. just take a deep breath-'
Taking in a deep; and unnecessarily loud, breath, Aphmau slowly let it pass back through her lips, her chest slowly falling.
'And relax',Aaron finished his sentence,'You're going to be fine'
Hesitating for a moment, Aphmau looked to the ground in thought and frowned.
'But.. what if I'm not?',The ravenette questioned.
Not even thinking of his next words, Aaron's answer came out a lot quicker than he thought it would and shocked Aphmau for a moment.
Probably even shocking himself.
'Well, you have Rosemary there for you, don't you?',Aaron questioned and he had a small smile on his face as he talked, even though neither of them could see him.
With a small smile twitching onto her lips, eyes of caramel and eyes of vermilion connected as one as Aphmau turned her way, the two smiling at one another.
Aphmau knew that her twin would always be there for her and she would be the same, she'd always be there for her, no matter what.
'And if by some strange circumstance that she's not there, then you can call me and we can talk',Aaron told her.
'Just as friends.. right?',Aphmau questioned.
With her smile falling, Rosemary looked at her sister with annoyance and slowly looked to the ground, slapping her hand to her forehead.
A small sigh left the werewolf as she shook her head and was slowly beginning to question her sanity. She understood that the two wanted to take time to explore their relationship, but Aphmau had just technically friend-zoned Aaron.
Even if she realized it or not.
'Yeah.. just as friends',Aaron said,'It might be weird to reach out to me, but I really want to be there for you'
While Aphmau was on the phone, Rosemary on the other hand, was banging her head against the bookshelf in the room, a small cry leaving her lips as she slowly began to question everything.
'And I want to do the same for you',Aphmau told him.
On one hand she wanted Aaron and her sister to get together, but at the moment they were making it very complicated and on the other, she didn't want them together because that was her best friend and it would be strange for him to date her sister since she considered him as a brother.
'I know',Aaron said,'Just remember to smile. You can do this, you survived the last year'
With a small chuckle, Aphmau looked towards Rosemary and watched as she turned her way, a small smirk on her face as she crossed her arms over her chest, arching her eyebrow.
A small smile twitched at Aphmau's lips and she let out a small chuckle, slowly shaking her head.
'That's because Rosemary kept everyone away from me',Aphmau stated,'If you remember'
Hearing the chuckle that came from the other end of the phone, Rosemary smiled as she had remembered what happened last year.
At that time, her and Aaron did not get along, which caused a few problems between the two of them.
'Oh I remember pretty well',Aaron told her,'I probably still have glass in my shirt'
With a small chuckle, Aphmau watched as Rosemary proudly smiled and confidently held her head high, her tail swaying quicker than before.
'Well, the two of you should get to class and remember, you can do this',Aaron told her and spoke up once more before Aphmau could hang up,'Oh, tell Rosemary that I said to not get into too many fights this year. Wouldn't want her to get as many detentions as last year'
With a nervous chuckle, Rosemary itched the back of her head and a small drop of sweat fell down the side of her temple, an anxious smile on her lips.
'I can do this!',Aphmau cheered,'And don't worry, I'll try to keep Rosemary out of fights. Oh, and Aaron... good luck in college! Don't work too hard'
Huffing out a laugh, Aaron shook his head and softly smiled.
'I'll try not to',Aaron told her,'Talk to you later'
Agreeing that they'd talk later, Aphmau hung up the phone and realizing that they had to get to homeroom, she grabbed Rosemary by the arm, quickly dragging her along.
But neither of them heard as Aphmau's phone fell to the floor.
And neither of them noticed as a werewolf with blue ears and tail, grey eyes and jet black hair with a blue streak picked it up and looked towards the two as they walked further away, until the two disappeared from sight.
