As she was getting dressed, Rosemary's door bursted open and a loud scream left the beta's lips as she spun around, her vermilion eyes wide in shock.

Seeing her sister about to pull her shirt on, Aphmau quickly closed the door as she walked in and spun around, squeezing her eyes shut.

'I'm so sorry!',Aphmau exclaimed, squeezing her eyes shut and mentally hit herself in the head,'I should've knocked first'

With a small laugh, Rosemary pulled on her black t-shirt and placed her red, black and white flannel on over her shirt, placing her black beanie on her head; carefully placing her ears through the small holes cut into it.

Telling her sister that it was alright to turn around, Rosemary watched as Aphmau's eyes practically glistened and filled with stars as she stared at her outfit.

She was wearing ocean blue, denim ripped shorts paired with a black t-shirt and a red, black and white flannel, with black and white vans.

With a small gasp, hopeful eyes looked up towards Rosemary and a pleading look formed on Aphmau's face.

'Could you please help me pick out an outfit?',Aphmau begged and clasped her hands together, trying to give her sister her best pair of puppy dog eyes.

A small chuckle left Rosemary's lips at Aphmau's attempt at persuading her and slowly shook her head, a small smile twitching at her lips.

Agreeing to her pleas, the twins began to raid Aphmau's closet for an outfit and looking through her closet full of clothes, Rosemary realized that she'd definitely need luck on her side.

This was going to take a while.

Gently biting into her bottom lip, Rosemary took a pink belly shirt and a black skirt off of the bar.

Turning her sister's way, the werewolf held up the clothes against her sisters body and scrunched up her nose in thought, before ultimately shaking her head in disagreement.

It didn't match with her eyes.

Next, she tried a lavender sweater paired with denim jeans and a deep, eggplant purple headband.

The twins decided that the outfit didn't work either.

After that, Aphmau had picked out a knee-length blue dress with purple sleeves and an obsidian black belt.

Deciding that neither of them liked it, they hurriedly put that outfit back.

Heading into her sister's closet, Rosemary looked through the multitude of clothes and suddenly, her vermilion eyes locked onto an outfit.

Deciding to pick it out, she was currently sitting on her sister's bed as she changed in the closet and hearing the door slowly creak open, Rosemary's left ear twitched and turning around, eyes of magma widened.

There, her sister stood in an adorable outfit.

A black, short-sleeved crop top hugged her body and paired with it were a lovely pair of blue jeans with a beautiful design around the waistline, a purple bow gently tied into her hair.

Telling her sister how well she had done, Aphmau looked down at the outfit and a wide smile was on her face.

"Since when did you care about what you wear? It's not like you're trying to impress Ein"

Feeling her ear twitch at the voice, Rosemary turned around and looked towards her sister's wolf plush that Aaron had given to her.

Did it just.. talk.

'Aha, that's where you're wrong, wolfie',Aphmau said.

Glancing between the two, Rosemary began to wonder if she was going crazy and slowly turned her gaze towards the ground.

Her sister was talking to her wolf plush and it was talking back.

Maybe her sister was giving it a voice and she just didn't see her moving her mouth.

Yup, that was it.

No inanimate object could talk.

'He considers me an alpha',Aphmau stated,'So, I at least want to leave a good impression'

Hearing the voice come out of the plushie again, Rosemary turned her head it's way and looked towards it with wide eyes.

This would take a while to get used to.

Since when could it talk!?

"Since when did you care about being the alpha? Hmmmm!?"

Stepping back in shock at the plushies words, Aphmau felt her eyes widen and her mouth dropped as she stuttered out a response.

'I- I.. ughh..-',Aphmau stuttered and glanced towards Rosemary out of the corner of her eye, before slowly looking back towards the plushie,'Honestly, I don't know.. I guess, I kind of feel bad that the werewolf club is depending on me to lead and.. I've been ignoring it. I feel like, this is my chance to redeem myself'

"Well, it's kind of lazy if you ask me",The plushie stated,"You only started because of this one werewolf, when your own sister has been trying to convince you for months"

Feeling her face heat up with anger, Aphmau turned towards the plushie and puffed out her cheeks in aggravation.

'No one's asking you!',Aphmau exclaimed,'I'm the alpha and you're supposed to respect me!'

Loud laughs left the plushie and it began to mock Aphmau, causing a growl of anger to leave her lips as she took a step forward.

'Why, you—'

Hearing their mother screaming, the twins turned towards the door and Rosemary's left ear twitched as she tilted her head in confusion.

Turning towards each other, the twins rushed through the door and ran towards the stairs, going to see what their mother was yelling about.

Walking into the kitchen, the sisters saw that their mother was no longer screaming and was instead, walking back and forth with an angered look on her face.

Heavy breaths of anger seethed through her lips and a vein popped through the skin of her forehead as her cheeks turned a bright red, her fists clenched at her sides.

"Mom"

'Is everything okay?'

Hearing her daughters voices, Sylvanna jumped slightly and turned around, shock filling her eyes before a bright smile formed on her face.

'Mi Hijas!',Sylavnna exclaimed and nervous laughs left her as she anxiously kept glancing away from them,'Nothing at all is wrong! I was just.. ughh-'

Looking around, Sylvanna tried looking around for an excuse and her eyes landed on the ketchup bottle in front of her.

'-Talking to Mr. Ketchup!',Sylvanna exclaimed, hiding her since at the terrible excuse and continued on with the lie, aware of the fact that Rosemary's ear twitched at the sound of her heart skipping a beat; which indicated that she was lying,'Right, Mr. Ketchup?'

"Aye, don't bring me into this now"

'Oh now, don't be that way'

"Act what way? I think ketchup is wayyy better than mustard!"

'And like I said, I don't care, Mr. Ketchup!',Sylvanna stated and turned towards her daughters, letting out a small chuckle as a smile formed on her face,'Can you believe this guy?'

With a weirded out look on her face, Aphmau looked between the bottle of ketchup and her mother.

Looking between her mother and her sister, Rosemary realized that they both weirdly voiced inanimate objects.

'Mom.. you're weird',Aphmau stated.

Turning her gaze her twins way, Rosemary raised an eyebrow and watched as Aphmau slowly turned towards her, a confused look on her face as if she had no idea what was wrong.

Aphmau was just as weird as their mother since she did the same thing.

'Oh, whatever!',Sylvanna said and let out a small laugh, before looking between her daughters,'So, what're the two of you up to today?'

Looking towards one another with a nervous look in their eyes, the twins tried to think of an excuse and tried to think of a way to not make their mother go on a rampage.

'Oh.. umm, well.. I was going to talk to you about that',Aphmau stated,'We wanted to ask if we could go to the mall today with a friend?'

Feeling a protective rage fill her, Sylvanna looked between her daughters and frowned.

'Is it a boy!?',She questioned.

Stepping back slightly, Aphmau looked towards Rosemary for help because last year at a time like this, if she had told her mother that it was a werewolf friend of Rosemary's then she'd understand and let them go.

But they weren't so sure now.

'No mom!',Aphmau exclaimed and hesitated to answer, trying to find the right person to bring into her lie.

Deciding to cut in, Rosemary stepped forward and watched as their mother turned her gaze her way causing the werewolf to try her most reliable weapon.

Her puppy dog eyes.

"It's not a boy, mom",Rosemary stated, a bright smile on her face and her canines glistened in the light,"It's our friend, Lucinda"

With a small hum of thought, Sylvanna believed her daughters lie and slowly nodded her head, a gentle smile forming on her face as she looked between her daughters.

A silent sigh of relief left Aphmau's lips and she mentally thanked her sister a million times over in her head, if she had tried to lie their mother would've known instantly and would've refused to let them go out.

'Alright fine, you two can go to the mall today since I trust Rosemary's word',Sylvanna stated and this caused the werewolf's heart to clench, her chest aching as she began to feel bad for lying to their mother,'But the two of you better be home for dinner. I trust that Rosemary will keep you safe'

A bright smile formed on the twins faces and Aphmau jumped in excitement as she grabbed Rosemary's arm, practically dragging her out of the house.

'Bye mom, we love you!'

"We love you!"

Hearing her girl's saying this caused a smile to form on Sylvanna's lips and a small chuckle left her as she watched her daughter being dragged by her twin.

'I love you girls too!',Sylvanna called out,'And don't forget to call me if you two need a ride home!'

The mother trusted her girls and even though she loved Aphmau, her daughter had a tendency to lie to her about having guy friends and having raised Rosemary the way she did, she trusted that she'd attack any boy that even came close to her or her sister.

If only she knew.

Waiting in the store, Aphmau was glancing down at her phone and looked around, a small frown on her face.

Glancing towards her twin, Aphmau saw that Rosemary was also texting someone and standing on the tip of her toes, a small smile twitched at her lips when she saw who it was.

Deciding to look away before her sister had caught her, Aphmau quickly turned her gaze away and got off of her tippy toes, looking around.

'I guess that we're a few minutes early',Aphmau stated and turned to look up at her sister, watching as she turned her way as well,'He did say that this was the place he wanted to meet'

Slowly nodding in agreement, Rosemary turned her head to the left and started looking around, trying to spot the boy through the crowd.

'Alpha! Rose!'

Feeling her left ear twitch at the familiar voice, Rosemary perked up and quickly turned around, a small smile forming on her face.

Standing in front of her was Daniel and he looked between the two with a confused, but excited, smile on his face.

'Hey alpha, hey Rose',Daniel greeted and gave the two of them kind smiles,'What're you two doing here?'

Looking up at Daniel, a look of shock formed on Aphmau's face and she gently smiled at the boy.

'Oh, wow, I wasn't expecting to see anyone from school here',Aphmau stated in surprise,'Especially not you, Daniel'

Letting out a small laugh, Daniel brightly smiled and continuously looked between the two; his gaze lasting longer on Rosemary each time he looked her way.

Which Aphmau noticed, which caused a barely noticeable and small smile to pull at her lips.

'Are you kidding?',Daniel questioned,'I come here all of the time'

Looks of shock formed on the twins faces and their eyes widened as they looked at him.

"Wait.. really?"

'Really!?'

Hearing how they had asked the question at the same time, a small chuckle escaped Daniel's lips and he began to wonder if it were a twin thing.

'Well, that makes sense now',Aphmau stated,'I usually drag Rosemary to the mall with me to get her to try some new clothes'

An embarrassed blush flushed across Rosemary's face as Daniel's eyes turned her way and thinking quickly, the beta hurriedly glanced towards the ground, her face heating up.

With a small smile twitching at his lips, Daniel kept his gaze on his friend for a bit longer and felt as his heart fluttered, before pounding against his chest harshly.

Looking over her outfit, he felt a harsh heat wash over his face as a bright blush covered his cheeks and swept across the bridge of his nose, his eyes glistening.

Finally, he tore his gaze away from Rosemary and looked towards Aphmau, his tail slowly turning from a quick wag to a gentle sway as he tried to calm his heartbeat.

Seeing the way he had looked at her sister, a small smirk began to spread across Aphmau's lips and her mind began to run wild.

He definitely had a crush on Rosemary.

'By the way, you two look really nice today',Daniel complimented,'As if you two had put a lot of thought into your outfits or something'

With a bashful smile, Rosemary glanced up at Daniel and as they connected eyes, she felt her face heat up once more.

With a plan set in motion, Aphmau put her arm over Rosemary's shoulders and innocently smiled at Daniel, a devious glint shinning in her chocolate brown eyes.

'Rosemary does look really pretty, doesn't she Daniel?',Aphmau said, dragging out the "really" as she tried to get an even better reaction out of her twin,'She had gone through five different outfits before choosing this one'

And it was working as Rosemary's cheeks reddened even more.

She hadn't really gone through five different outfits, only two but Aphmau wanted to exaggerate and try to have them hang out a bit more.

With a gentle smile on his face, Daniel looked towards Rosemary once more and noticed her reddened skin.

'Well, it definitely shows, Rose',Daniel admitted,'You look really pretty'

Feeling as if her face had become as hot as a tea kettle, Rosemary cleared her throat and felt her heart pounding against her rib cage, feeling as if it were about to explode out of her chest.

"Th-Thank you, Daniel.."

Hearing her sister stutter, Aphmau felt as if the squeal that was building up within her was about to burst out, but she restrained herself and only smiled brightly as she looked between them.

Watching as his gaze slowly trailed behind them, Aphmau watched as Daniel's eyes widened and he quickly looked between them, his eyes gleaming with desperation.

'Hey alpha, hey Rose!',He exclaimed,'Do you two want to hang out with me today? We could.. ughh.. we could spend a lot of today shopping and.. uhh.. getting to know each other'

Feeling a sense of dejection spread through her chest, Rosemary felt a small frown tug at her lips and her tail slowed down even more.

"A-Actually Daniel, we had already promised to meet up with—"

Quickly cutting her sister off, Aphmau began to speak up over her and Rosemary immediately stopped talking, glancing towards her sister with a confused look.

'Actually, Rosemary's totally free right now!',Aphmau exclaimed quickly.

Turning towards Aphmau with wide eyes, a feeling of protectiveness spread through her body and she shook her head.

"But Aph, I have to protect you and—"

Cutting her sister off once more, Aphmau gently took Rosemary's hands into her own and gave her a soft smile.

'It's okay, Rose, I'll have Ein to hang out with remember?',Aphmau questioned,'We'll meet up later and besides, you don't have to protect me by standing by my side all of the time. I could always call you if something happens'

Biting her lip in hesitation, Rosemary watched as Ein slowly walked over and knowing that Aphmau would most likely be watched over, caused her shoulders to sag slightly.

Even though she was with the omega, she had to trust that Aphmau could watch over herself for only a little bit, before deciding to take her advice and hang out with Daniel.

'Well.. I-I'll see you around, I guess',Daniel said, looking towards Aphmau and then looked towards Rosemary, causing his expression to brighten,'Come on, Rose'

Softly grabbing her hand in his own, Daniel gently dragged Rosemary along with him and as they were about to walk completely past Ein, the green haired boy turned around, growling under his breath at the boy.

Watching as Ein's ears slowly pulled back, Daniel turned his gaze away and continued to walk away with Rosemary close by his side.

Once they were further away, eyes of vermilion turned Daniel's way and feeling her eyes on him, eyes of the sea turned towards her as a gentle smile slowly spread across his lips.

"Hey Daniel, I have a question",Rosemary stated and hearing him hum slightly, she spoke up once more,"Why did you growl at Ein?"

Glancing ahead for a moment to make sure they didn't run into anyone, Daniel turned his gaze back her way and slightly tilted his head to the side.

'W-Well.. he's the omega, obviously',Daniel stated and slightly stuttered at the beginning, giving her a small smile,'A-And he was looking your way and as an omega, he shouldn't look the higher ranks in the eyes completely..'

With a small hum, eyes of vermilion gazed deeply into his and he watched as a small streak of electric blue struck through her irises like a lightning bolt, before fading away into nothing.

Beautiful.

"Well, yeah, but you and I both know that it's common for a beta and the omega to get along at times",Rosemary explained, furrowing her eyes brows and felt a rush of confusion electrify her body,"So.. why did you growl at him?"

Feeling shock run though his body, Daniel froze for a moment and his mouth gaped open, before he quickly looked away from her, a blush slowly spreading across his face.

'I-... I didn't like how close he was getting to you..',Daniel muttered under his breath and kept his gaze forward.

Feeling her eyes widen, Rosemary's heart harshly pounded within the confines of her chest and a deep color of cherry painted her cheeks as she stared at her friend, feeling that strange feeling from before coming back as it squeezed at her chest.

Slowly looking towards her, Daniel saw the way she was looking at him and feeling his body heating up in embarrassment, he quickly cleared his throat, trying to talk about something else.

'H-hey, are you hungry?',Daniel questioned.

Perking up at the sound of food, Rosemary smiled gently and slowly nodded her head, her vermilion eyes glistening as her stomach quietly gurgled with hunger.

"Y-yeah, a little bit",Rosemary admitted.

Feeling his ears perk up, a small smile slowly spread across his lips and Daniel softly squeezed her hand for a moment, before bringing her along with him.

'Perfect, come on!'

Taking a bite of her corn dog, Rosemary's tail swayed quickly behind her as the delicious taste bursted across her tastebuds and her eyes glistened in happiness.

As they walked, Rosemary and Daniel talked about many things, but when he had asked if she had ever had a boyfriend before, she felt her happy mood fade away and a far away look formed in her eyes.

Fearing that he had said something wrong, Daniel quickly reached out and grabbed Rosemary's hand as he gently pulled her to a stop, softly having her face him.

'D-Did I say something wrong?',Daniel questioned,'If I did, I'm really sorr-'

Quickly cutting him off, Rosemary softly shook her head and gave him a sad smile.

"N-No, you didn't say anything wrong Daniel, it was just an innocent question",Rosemary stated and let out a small sigh, slowly pulling her ears back,"I did in middle school"

Curious as to what he was like, Daniel tilted his head and listened carefully as she began to explain everything.

"At first, he seemed like an amazing person and we had gotten along very well, my mother had even liked him. But then.. he changed and began to argue with me any chance he got",Rosemary explained, a far away look forming in her eyes as she began to think back and remember those times,"He had begun to form a gang and even roped one of my friends into joining. He slowly began to ignore me and even though his brother tried to talk some sense into him, he was never the same with me, but.. I had still agreed that we'd just stay friends. And so, after that I decided that I'd never let anyone hurt me again and.. I became the ruthless and evil beta that you've heard about. Even when we met, you feared me and.. you probably still do.."

Feeling his heart break at her explanation, Daniel quickly pulled his friend towards him and wrapped his arms around her, feeling as she stiffened in his hold as her arms stayed frozen over his, but that didn't matter.

He didn't let go of her.

Having met up with Dottie and Rylan, the four began to walk back to meet up with Aphmau and just as she was about to call out to her sister with a bright smile on her face, Rosemary froze at the sight in front of her.

'Hey! I knew you were up to something!'

Ein was hugging Aphmau.

This werewolf was hugging her sister.

The omega was trying to mark her alpha!

But Daniel had spoken up first, while Rosemary's rage had gotten the better of her and she didn't want him to see that side of her.

But she couldn't stop it.

With a feral snarl, Rosemary's vision had gone red as her eyes momentarily flashed an electric blue and she rushed forward, pushing Ein away from her sister as she had a tight grip on his shirt, her vermilion eyes narrowed in anger as she growled.

'Wait.. Rosemary, it's not what it looks like',Ein stated, trying to reason with his friend and fear filled his eyes at the insane amount of rage in her eyes,'I'm just her friend and—'

Suddenly, Dottie walked towards them and scoffed loudly, causing Ein to look towards her, his eyes still full of fear.

'Yeah right',Dottie scoffed,'You don't care about her as the alpha and Rosemary as the beta, you just want to use her so you can become alpha yourself'

Hearing this, Rosemary's grip tightened and her eyes narrowed even more as a harsh snarl left her, her sharp canines fully bared.

Even Dottie and Daniel stepped back slightly.

She was in full beta mode and every lower wolf understood to back down, but if someone tried to challenge her, they would regret it.

'What's going on?',Aphmau questioned, confusion and fear clear within her voice.

The only way to snap a beta out of a protective frenzy was for the alpha to order them to back off, but the two highly doubted that Aphmau would call her off after what they were telling her.

'Ein here's the omega',Daniel explained and looked towards Ein,'He was trying to befriend our beta so that he could get closer to you and he was probably trying to set you up to make him alpha'

Confused by their accusations, Aphmau slowly turned her gaze towards Ein and felt her heart break.

'Ein.. is that true?',Aphmau questioned.

With a saddened look in his eyes, Ein turned towards Aphmau and shook his head, before looking back towards Rosemary with a look of betrayal.

He had really thought that they had become friends.

'I- I.. I'm so sorry that's not what I meant at all, I just—',Ein stuttered and took his shirt from his beta's grasp, stumbling back with an angered groan.

'Ein!'

Seeing that he was about to run off, Aphmau quickly grabbed his hand and stopped him in his tracks.

'Leave me alone!',Ein snapped and refused to look her way.

'Ein, just talk to me'

Turning his eyes towards her, Ein slowly shook his head, looking between her and Rosemary.

'It was a mistake to ask the two of you here!'

Tearing his hand from her grasp, Ein quickly ran off and watching as he went, a feeling of guilt burst throughout her body.

Did she just ruin a friendship by believing her friends accusations?

Turning her gaze towards her sister, Rosemary slowly stepped forward and felt her ear fall back just a bit.

"Aph, I—"

Pulling away from her touch, Aphmau's eyes blazed with anger as she turned her way and Rosemary brought her hand back towards her side, a confused look on her face.

She was just trying to protect her.

'What was that for, Rosemary!?',Aphmau yelled,'You act like his friend and the moment you think he's trying to use me, you turn against him without even thinking to ask?'

Speechless, Rosemary gulped down her spit and held her sister's furious gaze.

'My Irene, I don't need protection all of the time, Rosemary and you don't have to follow mom's every order like some pup!',Aphmau yelled,'I don't need your protection, I don't need your judgement on who I can or can't be friends with, I don't need you to always act as my beta instead of a sister and I definitely don't need you'

Even though she didn't mean it, Aphmau's rage blinded her and she didn't think about what she was saying as her anger fueled her words.

Feeling as if something had stabbed her through the heart, a hurt look formed on Rosemary's face and a soft whine left her lips as her ears flattened against her head, her tail tucking between her legs.

Harsh gasps filled the air as Dottie, Rylan and Daniel stared at their alpha with wide eyes, not believing what she had just said.

Her alpha didn't want her.

Her sister didn't... need her.

Stepping back, Rosemary cleared her throat and looked to the side, making sure that her sister-.. that Aphmau didn't see the tears that were beginning to fill her eyes.

"I-... I understand, alpha..",Rosemary said, hiding her tears from her friends and Aphmau,"I'm.. I'm gonna go"

Turning around, Rosemary began to walk away and as she began to calm down, Aphmau had realized what she said and her eyes widened as a look of horror covered her face.

'Rose, wait! I didn't—'

Stopping for a moment, Rosemary looked towards the ground and slowly shook her head.

"..Don't. You made yourself very clear"

Feeling her bottom lip quiver, Rosemary quickly ran away from the group and felt as the salty tears that filled her eyes began to sting, before they gradually ran down her face.

'Rosemary, stop! I'm sorry, I didn't mean that! Come back!'

Not listening to Aphmau's words, Rosemary ran through the doors of the store and made her legs run even faster.

Hearing someone running past him, Ein turned around and watched as the beta ran off, small sobs filling his ears causing them to twitch as he tilted his head, confused as to what had happened.

Watching as her twin ran off, Aphmau's breath quickened in panic and she ran her hands through her hair.

There was no way she'd be able to catch up to her, Rosemary was too quick and Aphmau was only a human, she'd never be able to find her.

'Aphmau.. I'll go after her'

With her eyes wide in shock, Aphmau turned towards Daniel and felt her lips part.

He's never called her by her name before.

'I- I didn't mean too, I just—!',Aphmau exclaimed, her voice cracking and worry for her twin crashed through her,'Please Daniel.. make sure she's safe..'

Nodding gently, Daniel promised his alpha that he'd take care of her and quickly took off after his friend, following after her scent.
