luna jade allen was born in beacon hills, california to her mother, keri lorraine martin, and father, lawrence allen. as far as lj knew, her parents were never married but they had been together for a long time. they seemed to have a good relationship, but then she found the cracks, and everything that was falling through.

from as young as 4 years old, lj's dad trained her to shoot a gun, fight, fight with a gun, shoot bow and arrow, and taught her to speak many languages other than english. and somehow, through all this, lawrence had trained lj to not crack and tell her mom what was going on.

although, keri was not stupid, and eventually she put the pieces together that something was in fact going on when luna jade was about 6. lawrence simply brushed it off by saying he was just trying to teach her self defense. on top of that, it helped his case that while he was teaching her spanish, french, and danish, she began excelling in reading in school. by grade 2, her reading level was bumped up to a 6th grade level, and that included even in the different languages.

the only people that kept her sane through all of this was her older cousin by a few months, lydia, and her childhood best friends, stiles stilinski and scott mccall. she soon developed a crush on stiles while growing up with him, as did he, and this continued until things started to fall apart when she was 10. keri discovered what lawrence was training lj to do, the full truth of the training, and everything changed. the training stopped, there was lots of fighting between her parents, and all of a sudden, he was gone.

lawrence left keri and luna jade when she was 11 years old, and shortly after that, the pair moved away from her hometown, even though lj didn't want to. from there, they moved to new york where some of keri's other family were, across the country from beacon hills, and started fresh. lj went through all of middle school and half of high school before her and her mother decided to come back to beacon hills, living with lydia, and her mother, keri's sister-in-law natalie, who she always seemed to be closer with instead of her own estranged brother.

now, luna is reconnecting with her cousin who she hadn't seen in the years since she had originally lived in the mysterious town. as well as finding stiles and scott again, she meets the rest of their new friends in their so called 'pack', and tries to navigate her way through the supernatural life of beacon hills, while finding out family secrets she didn't know about, including the full reason as to why they moved away.
