I rested my head on my palm, as I watched fields changing forests and forest changing fields, and over and over again.
A sight escaped my mouth as I leaned over the train window.
Yesterday I said my goodbyes to my parents, and hopped on the train for a long twenty nine hour ride. I was now twelve. And mommy and papa promised that when I turn this age, I could go take the Hunter Exam.
I have been waiting for this moment. No question about it. Nonstop asking my parents what was the Hunter Exam like, preparing myself for any trouble I might find myself in, training, training, training, training...
Of course I knew it was going to be difficult in some way. That made me want to go even more.
"Alright! I'm almost there!" I said to out loud. People around me grimaced. I smiled at them, and they turned away whispering.
'As long as you keep your smile you're good' dad said, before I ran in the train sending them air kisses.
I closed my eyes resting my head on the seat. Only around ten hours to go. Then I'm there.
My body relaxed in the seat as I drifted into deep sleep.

I opened my eyes of the familiar smell of sea and Island. I sat straight in my seat, as I looked over the window. I felt bumping on my seat while seeing what I desired for all this time. I jumped out of excitement.
There was it, the island where the Hunter Exam will take place.
In about a half an hour I was already out of train, on the Island full of excitement. I breathed in and out the air of sea and land. I didn't travel quite a lot, since my parents wanted me to live in a peaceful society, deep in forests, far away from any communication. Yet I loved exploring new places, so going to Hunter Exam was a win win.
I saw as a bunch of people already walking ina bus. I suppose they were other Hunter Exam tryouts?
From what I heard that bus takes applicants to their destination.
I frowned at them. Do people think it's really so easy? Thousands, no maybe Millions of people try out for a year. Seems like they have no chance whatsoever.
Sighting, I started walking away from the crowd.
When I finally walked out of the blunt town I went straight for the hill. Just a feeling I guess, I thought as I walked straight soon walking in a small town, when...
My hunches are usually correct anyways.
Minutes later...
The old woman gazed at me with her cold eyes, that didn't look so nice. How did I even end up like this?!
Ah that's right... while I was crossing the tall mountain, I came across this weird town and then these freaky people...
"Before you pass this town you'll need guess my riddle, I prepared. You'll have ten seconds,"she says. Old people are... not really nice all the time huh?
I gulped. "Uhm, ok."
The woman closed her eyes for a moment, and then started speaking while opening. "People are threatening to kill your mother or your father, and they give you the decision to choose. Which one do save and which one do you leave behind?" She asked narrowing her eyes at the young girl.
I froze for a slip second, then look back at the old woman. "I choose... neither." I said now glaring at her. She shot her brows.
"And why's that?" She asks me.
"Because there is no correct answer to this question," I answer. She nods.
"Congratulations you've passed the test. Come," she points at the where she came through, that looks like a long black tunnel. "You'll walk for a few hours and then get to your check point," she says. I smile and grin.
"Thank you miss scary old lady, I shall remember you!" I say as I ran off. The old woman stared at the young girl before shouting back to her. "You better pass young, weird girl!"

Time skip since I'm lazy as fuck-
I sat in the room next to the table waiting for my "food". I looked at my feet. Then my hands, my chest and everywhere where I could look. I didn't break a sweat. Yet there was a little scratch on my left shoulder. It should vanish in an hour or so.
The room started moving as it revealed to be a elevator. I sight as I rested my head on the desk trying to remember what mom told me about people at the Hunter Exam. Man, can't remember! I whined as I stood up from my table and went to the elevator's other door as the number beneath it finally gone to one hundred. Next to the number I noticed a B.
I walked out of the room to a huge odd tunnel. I could see only a few people. Around 20 to 30 I guess. They stared at me for a split second. And again looked away.
Well that was nice, I thought. Then I saw a green jelly creature, which smiled at me. "Hi there! My name is Beans, and welcome to the Hunters Exam! Please put this bandage on since this is your number." He said instructed me. I took the bandage with the number of 31.
I smiled. Looks like I'm early hm...
"Please remember to wear this on your chest, and be careful not to loose it." He finished. I smiled at the cute Bean. Then bowed to his level and pat his head.
"Thank you, Bean! I hope I'll see you later!" I said while he smiled at me too, gave me a bow and walked away.
I smiled.
Then again I stared at the people that got here before me. I examined all of them and loosing hope I traveled to a wall sitting criss cross. I took my bandage and put in on my white shirt.
Maybe I should have put on shorts rather than a skirt, I thought. As far as I see there's only men everywhere, and it's making me hella uncomfortable, I slid into my thoughts...
"Hey you good there?" I heard a voice.
I opened one of my eye to see a overweight guy standing in front of me. Oh no. Please don't be a pervert, I begged in my mind, opening both of my eyes.
I stood up brushing off dust of my blue skirt. "Yea, um... thanks," I said nervously. He smiled at me and I decided that he was rather not a pervert but a user more of.
"Anyways the name's Tonpa, nice to meet ya!" He said grinning ear to ear.
I nod. "I'm... Annya," I gave him a quick smile.
"Oh, I see! Your new here, first time?" He asked me, putting his hands on his hips. I nod again not wanting to talk to this weirdo. "Well, for me, it's like the thirty fifth time now he said somehow proudly which made me frown, but I shook my head and gave him a smile. "So friends?" He asked taking his hand out. I made myself stick out my own hand and smile.
"Yea sure. Friends."
He looked proud of himself. Too proud. "Well then, to celebrate our new friendship, would you like to have a toast?" He asked taking out two juice bottles.
I took one from him and pressed it against my lips smelling it. Oh I see, I smiled. Just how I thought. It's poisoned. I looked at Tompa who was patiently waiting for me to drink it. What a guy, jeez!
I took a sip, then two and gulped. I looked at Tompa with mischievous look on his face. I smiled at him, yet not whit a nice smile. More like with a threatening one. "So you feed people with laxative, hm?" I asked him, as he went white-pale. The drink in my hand exploded. I stood up, turned away from him and just before going away... "I may have drank the laxative right now, but that doesn't mean something's gonna happen to me. You see..." I gave him a dangerous look. "I froze it, right before it could come to my system. Pretty cool huh?" I said as I walked away. I cough out the ice formed juice and throw it on the ground.
I felt a pair of eyes on me, as I looked back at the direction it was coming from. Nothing. I guess I'm starting seeing things. Great.
I saw as a few new people walked in with the numbers 100, 101 and 102. I sight as I finally found a place with no people around and sat there resting.
In about an hour or two I finally heard something else from Tompa trying to get people to drink his stupid drink, people talking and footsteps.
It was like a... alarm clock? I stood up to see a lot of people, also staring at the side I did. Even if I couldn't see clear who was the one that got our attention, I soon saw him.
The wall before us opened, revealing a light pink haired man with grey eyes, purple costume and a moustache. He had no mouth which made me curious how does he talk.
"I apologise for the delay. Thank you, for waiting," He said, moustache moving instead of his non existent mouth. Cool... I thought, eyes sparkling. "The entry period of Hunter applicants is officially closed." He said slightly like a robot. Still it was really cool. "So with no further redo, the Hunter Exam will now begin!" He said as I squeezed my hands in excitement.
Everyone let out a sight as I smiled relaxing, since the waiting was over. "One final word of caution," he said as I watched him. He has long legs, I thought bringing my finger to my chin. "If your short on luck or ability, keep in mind that there's a real big chance that you might end up seriously injured." He said. I quickly glanced at people. Some of them looked a little nervous. Well that is to be expected. "Death, is another distinct possibility." He said, bringing a little tense in the room. He continued. "If your wiling to accept, the risks involved, I'll ask you to follow me now." He said. I was getting a little bored, but exited at the same time. "But for the rest of you! Kindly exit through the elevator, located behind you." He said, silence entering the room. No one moved to the elevator's side. "Right then, very well," the man said with a glimpse of proudness in his voice. "All 400 and 4 applicants will now participate, in Phase One," he said turning away. He then started walking swinging up his legs up, down, up, down... I smiled as I cheerfully followed the man along with other young and old.
I heard murmuring about people leaving from some dark haired old man with a blue suit. Soon after we all noticed the first Examinator going faster and faster, until we where on our knees running. I again heard the murmuring of the group behind me. Then I almost jumped to the ceiling as the moustache man started talking again.
"How rude of me, I neglected to introduce myself!" He said, while I tried not to show how scared I was for a moment. "I'm Satotz, your examiner for the first phase of the Exam!" He said. "It's my responsibility to lead you all to the second phase!" He while I smiled.
Some weird looking dude frowned. "The second? What happened to the first?" I stared at him blankly. Is this guy for real?
Satotz didn't look flustered at all. "The first Phase is already underway," he answered. I smirked at the guy, him looking quite surprised. Satotz continued. "The first phase is quite simple. All you have to do is follow me, to the second phase, so try to keep up" he finished as I heard murmuring, yet not minding it. Some people kept complaining to Satotz, but I wasn't listening anymore.
Even from my youth I could run a few hours without stopping. And mommy said that whatever looks easy at the Hunter Exam, is actually more difficult. This could mean running for hours and non stopping. Not sure how much we'll run, is a bit flustering.
I guess I'll need to trust my instincts. After all, that is the best I could do right now.
