\\Annya (POV)\\

"Why does Killua get to try the fishing robe before meeee!" I whined sitting next to Gon as he was instructing Killua how to use his weapon.

"Sorry Annya, but he asked first, while you where sleeping..." Gon awkwardly smiled. I sight.

"Alright, but after him, can I please try? Please, please, please, please, please?"

"Sure, I don't mind!" Gon laughed his hands on his hips.

"I thought fishing was just, putting something on the hook and throwing it in the water!" Killua exclaimed checking out Gon's robe.

"It seems pretty simple to me," I said pointing at it. Gon smiled and took the fishing robe from Killua.

"Mhm, but you also have to think," Gon said as I raised a brow. "-like a fish," he finished as I stared at him, stupidly. This will boy always surprise me, no matter how much I'll know him, huh?

"And that is," I said laying on the couch we where sitting. "Sounding very cool!" I laughed.

Killua frowned. "I don't understand, how is it suppose to work?"

"Well, I believe it does! How would a fish feel if it saw a thing in front of it with food?" Gon asked, with no need of answer. "Look."

He focused on the fishing robe as he thrown the rope. It landed right into a cup, next to Tompa.

"Woah..." I said leaning towards Gon. I examined the robe as my eyes sparkled.

"Oh wow!" Killua said smiling. "Let me give it a try!" He said as Gon carefully handed him the fishing robe.

"Don't break it," I said poking his cheek. He smiled mischievously at me.

He then took it, and concentrated. "So, like this?" He asked throwing the hook. I watched it as it landed right next to Leorio's foot.

Gon started laughing. "You missed!" He said. I raised a brow at Killua still with that mischievous smile of his. He's planing something isn't he?

"Yea, but watch this!" He said moving the rope back. The hook got stuck in Leorio's pants as Killua dragged it.

Leorio grumbled as his foot was now in the air. "Hey! What the hell do you think your doing?! Stop!" He yelled as I snickered. So that is was Killua's plan, all along...

"Right on target!" Killua smiled, standing up.

"Nice!" Gon laughed.

"Take this as a payback Leorio!" I yelled to him as his eyebrows twitched. "For mistaking me for a guy!"

"You-! Your gonna tear my pants!" Leorio shouted as I bursted out laughing even more. "Knock it off!"

Eventually the hook got out of his pants and landed back to us.

"You see? I landed a big one!" Killua proudly smiled.

"Yep!" Gon said as we all giggled.

"Do I look like a fish to you?!" Leorio shouted.

"Oh noyou don't look like a fish," I said bringing my hand to my chin. "You look like an old gazer with no sense of humour," I smirked at him, as we three laughed. Leorio's face turned red with anger.

"Just- leave me the hell alone!" He shouted.

The rest of the day went by quickly. I didn't even realise that it was evening.

I laid my head on a small pink pillow, my eyes closed, trying to sleep. Killua and Gon where each laying next to me, still some good space between us.

Leorio was playing something on the tv, Kurapika was resting while sitting, and Tompa was snoring so loudly that I wanted to kick him.

In a few minutes I heard a button push, someone walk through the room and lay on another sofa. Leorio. He somehow was weirder today, if that's even possible.

I nuzzled my head harder to the pillow, letting out a yawn and finally starting to fall asleep.

I leaned back, as thrown the pillow right at Killua's face, which he somehow cough. I then got a hit from Gon's pillow as I picked it up mischievously and thrown it at the green haired boy's stomach. We kept laughing at each other, me getting hit almost all the time.

I watched as two boys where doing push-ups and I was holding a journal of someone called Aleko Manstere. They later started doing push-ups on their hands, knees is air. It seem to be fun as I stood on my hands and started walking around.

"Everything looks so weird from here," I grinned. "As if the world was upside down!"

"Maybe because it is?" Killua sight.

"Oh your right!" I chuckled.

"It feels like all my water traveled to my head!" Gon whined as I laughed, smiling cheerfully.

"That's what happens if we stay up like this for long!~" I smiled walking away, exploring the room, upside down.

Kurapika read a bunch of books, I tried cooking something with the boys, but there were no ingredients, I needed. Me, Gon and Killua tried it out and decided that we should never leave Gon with an oven, or Killua with a fork.

I saw how the hours slowly went by. Only a few hours to go. Not that long.

Gon and Killua played a hand game. One is the catcher and the other is the runner. The runner has to bow down his hand, so the catcher won't catch him. Killua was the catcher, and Gon was the runner. While I was the judge.

Killua always won, and Gon lost. He would get a finger hit on the head. It was funny to watch until I started feeling bad for Gon.

"Hey, Killua loosen up a little, you already hit him at least 20 times," I said bringing me hand between their faces.

"It's his own fault that he can't move faster," Killua brushed my hand away. "Also do you want to try it? Or are you going to play examiner?" He teased as my eyebrows twitched.

"Fine, but only 1 time," I said bringing my hand up. Killua got his hands ready to catch, as Gon sat closer to me.

"Ready..." I mumbled. Then quickly bowed my hand to the ground. Killua was about to grab it when I showed it up. I thought that I won, but he lifted his hands with mine and grabbed it perfectly.

My jaw dropped, as I stared at my hand between his.

"You figured it out..." I mumbled taking my hand away.

"You thought I wouldn't? That was a very lame move," I said giving me a bump in the head, as I dramatically fallen to the ground.

Finally when time went to 01.00 minute we all stood in front of the door.

"Alright! We're off to go!" I said stretching my arms.

"Hmph! I've been waiting for this!" Gon cheered as we both exchanged thumbs up.

"This one minute is taking forever..." Leorio murmured.

"Someone said that if we count time, it would go wayyy slower. And if we don't pay attention to it, then it goes faster," I said bringing my hands to my hips.

We all patiently waited as the seconds slowly passed. Finally the time got to 0 zero as the door opened. Gon grabbed mine's and Killua's hands and started running towards the exit as I cheerfully smiled, Leorio complaining behind us.

...

Eventually we got down by some tracks, ran through disappearing stairs and got got chased my a huge rock (Killua needed to literally carry me on his back, so I wouldn't stop to examine everything).

"Man! I'm all covered in dust!" Killua whined as I jumped off his back. We stopped for a moment to catch our breath, since the rock that was chasing us, got stuck between two walls.

"I'll totally need to buy new clothes after this..." I mumbled, looking at my white shirt, now more grey like.

"We have only... one hour left and... if we won't hurry, we..." Leorio breathed.

"Yeah, we should hurry," I agreed as I started walking towards another majority rule, sign. Others catching up with me.

"We are... suppose to vote whenever to open the door?" Leorio asked. I felt some weird nostalgia. "We kinda need to move up, so the choice is pretty clear!" He said as we all pressed our buttons.

O5 - X1.

Leorio's brow twitched as he grabbed Tompa by the collar. "I've had enough of your crap!" He grumbled as I kept my composure.

"What are you talking about? I pressed O," Tompa said as I raised my brow, confused.

"Don't you lie to me! Sabotaging our chances, is your freakin specialty!" He said bringing Tompa closer.

"Sorry Leorio," Gon said as I looked over to him.

"Huh?!" Leorio rambled.

"I accidentally pressed the wrong button."

"Wh-what?" Leorio asked letting go of Tompa.

I sight. "This is why I should never leave you out of sight, huh?" I asked, patting Gon's head, as he lazily smiled at me. "Let's move up now ok?"

"Fine..." Leorio mounted.

"Hold on," Tompa said glaring at Leorio. "I think you own me an apology," he said. "You think I'm just gonna let that slide?"

Leorio turned to him. "Maybe if you weren't always doing some shady stuff, that wouldn't have happened!"

"You sound as if everything that we've been troughs right now is my fault!" Tompa snapped.

"Guys-" I tried to interfere.

"What was that Tompa?!" Leorio glared at the overweight man.

"Don't tell me that you already forgotten!" Tompa shouted. "You where the one that costed us those 50 hours!" He said pointing at Leorio.

"Leorio calm down," Kurapika pat the old man's hand.

"Yeah listen to him!" I said from my spot.

"Shut up you two!" he shoved the blondes hand away.

Leorio put down his suitcase as he got ready into a fight stance.

"Come on guys, knock it off!" Gon said as he walked up to Leorio. "I'm the one who pressed the wrong button, so it's my fault!"

"This is stupid," Killua groaned.

"Agreed," I sight.

"Come on, let's go ahead," he said as we both walked out the door to see...

"Hey you two! Don't go!" I heard Gon's voice.

"I think we're really are getting close to the end!" I said smiling.

"Gon! We must be getting real close to finish!" Killua called out.

"Woah, really?" Gon's voice exclaimed.

In a few moments we all stood in front of a women's statue, in her two sides each a door. One marked as O and the other as X.

"Let's see," Killua said. "This will be the last decision made by majority rule. Are you ready? Choose O or X. And that's it."

"Am I ready? Of course I am! Let's do this!" Leorio shouted.

O4 - X1

"Bastard!-" Leorio shouted looking back at Tompa.

"Let it go, Leorio!" Kurapika shouted. "We don't have time to argue!"

Suddenly we heard a check sound as a red small button on the statue's head flashed. "Please select a path," I heard Lippo's voice. "There are two available paths to choose from. The long and difficult path which the entire group can take, or the short and easy path, which will be limited to only half of you. Only 3 of you."

I shot my eye brows. So that's how it is huh?

"Incidentally, if you choose the king and difficult path, it will require at minimum of 45 hours to complete. While the short and easy one will lead you directly to goal and proximately 3 minutes," he said. "Press O to select the long and difficult one, or press X to choose the short and easy path. If X is selected, 3 applicants from your group must be chained to the wall with handcuffs before the door will open. Those applicants won't be able to move until the time limit has expired." He finished.

I saw how everyone noticed some weapons on the walls. The Examiner wants us to fight. It's pretty obvious.

"The Examiners really thought of everything!" Killua said, glancing at the walls. "Every weapon I've heard about is down here."

"They probably expect us to fight, huh? Till only 3 of us remains, the ones that pass," Kurapika sight. I looked down at my feet closing my eyes. Not making an eye contact is better right now.

"Alright," Leorio said as I glanced at him. "Wanna make this clear. I'm pressing the X button. But I'm not staying behind."

He was gifted with 5 irritating glares.

"I'm one of the three that moving on. And I'll do whatever it takes," He said as I couldn't help but chuckle. He stared at me angrily. "What do you think your laughing at brat?!"

"Nothing, nothing..." I said waving my hand in front me. "I just wanna see..." my eyes darkened. "...how you win Leorio."

He gulped but kept his composure. My eyes went back to normal as I smiled. "Just kidding! After all don't you have the same amount of strength like all of us?"

"I don't think it's about strength, he's one guy to talk," I heard Tompa say, as I moved my head, towards his direction. "We could've taken the long path if you haven't wasted 50 hours. Why don't you do the right thing, and make up for it by staying behind?" Tompa glared at Leorio.

"What's that?!" Leorio yelled.

"I'm sure we all agree," Tompa continued. "What about it guys? Did I lie?"

"Hold on a second," Gon said as I again needed to turn around to face him. "I'm going to press O. It's just... we all went this far by working together, so we should finish together!"

"Gon..." Kurapika exclaimed.

"It's a big risk, I know that. But still... we've got to try!" Gon struggled with words.

"Sometimes I forget how your so kind hearted, that it even makes me feel selfish," I laughed at his response. "But if you press O I'll follow you."

"Ugh, come on, you two," King sight. "It's not a question of a big risk. We've got less than an hour!"

I glanced at Gon. He looked puzzled, but concentrated at once.

"Gon. Annya. There's only one way to pass. I mean it's obvious," he said as I grumbled and looked at my feet. Everyone tensed.

"Well there you have it kids," Leorio said as I flinched.

"So now we have to pick which three advances. If it was up to me, Annya, me and Gon would be the ones to pass." Killua said.

Suddenly I heard a swoosh sound as I quickly glanced at it, to see Leorio jumping away, and Tompa smashing a huge axe to the ground, breaking the floor.

"That was cheat-shot!" Leorio shouted.

"In a fight there's no such thing as cheat-shot!" Tompa yelled chasing Leorio with the axe.

"Bastard-!" Leorio said taking out a weapon himself.

Kurapika then also took out his two connected fighting sticks. "Stop it! Both of you!"

"Yeah! Come on just all do this together!" Gon agreed.

"We don't have to fight, until we choose O or X you idiot!" Leorio yelled at Tompa.

"It's too late for that!" The man yelled back. His axe bumped into a wall making a hole in it. If they keep this up...

"Looks like fighting is our only option," Killua said sharpening his nails. My eyes twitched to his actions, but I soon calmed down. I was afraid of them. At least back then, at the room.

I saw as Kurapika struggled thinking of something. I sight.

"Alright," I said. I let out my Ren as the room began to get colder and colder. Everyone soon noticed it and stopped. They all looked at me as I sight.

"Listen up. We have no time for this stupid fighting you idiots. If we won't hurry now, we will loose. By the way," I looked over to Gon and smiled. "I think that you might have a plan Gon."

...

\\3rd person (POV)\\

The remaining applicants where waiting for the time to collapse. It's now been left only 1 minute. And yet Annya, Gon or anyone of their group hasn't showed up yet. Only a guy that died after finally completing the tower.

"I guess it is then," one applicant said, known as one of the three brothers. "Looks like it's just 19 of us that are already here."

Then unexpectedly another door opened. As only 3 people walked out, all covered in dust.

"Annya - number 31 is the 20th to pass. Killua - number 99 is the 21 to pass. Gon - number 405 is the 22nd to pass. Time elapsed. 71 hours, 59 minutes." Said the examiner's voice.

"Man, my but hurts!" The white haired boy named Killua whined.

"Can't help," the pinky haired girl, mentioned as Annya smiled.

"I surely didn't expect the short and easy path to be a slide!" Killua whined as Annya laughed.

"Even with that slide it really close!" The boy with green hair said turning to both of his friends.

"Yeah, my hands are feeling like rocks right now!" The girl agreed.

"Yeah, feels horrible," suddenly someone agreed, from out of nowhere.

"Same here!" Another unknown voice said.

"Kurapika - number 404 is the 23rd to pass," said the voice again as a blond haired guy walked out. "Leorio - number 403 is the 24th to pass. Tompa - number 16 is the 25th to pass. Time elapsed, 79 hours, 59 minutes," said the examiner Lippo as two old looking mans- one dark haired and skinny, other overweight and brown haired, walked out rambling and fighting each other.

The little group stood together. "My hands are raked! But all 5 of us cleared the tower together!" Leorio guy laughed. "And it's all thanks to Gon!"

"Yep!" The pinky said as she stood between the green and white haired boys as she hugged them both giggling.

After the fighting was stopped by Annya, the whole group heard Gon's plan and choose the hard and long path. After they entered it they shattered the wall that was connecting the two paths with the weapons they've found in the previous room.

And then all they have left to do was run the short and easy path.

———

The group was all laughing and talking together, happy that they made it out on time. All thanks to Gon.

"The third phase of the Hunter Exam is over!" Lippo's voice claimed. "26 applicants have passed. Including one diseased."

Then another wall-door opened up revealing the bright sunshine.

The group was happy and glad that they did it. But will that happiness last long when they'll find out what was going to happen in the next phase?
