(Don't mind the photo in the background please, Annya is not wearing something like that, nor is her hair so long^^)

\\Annya (POV\\

We have been running for about 1 hour now. A lot of people already dropped on the ground. To me it was not really tiring, but it was getting a little boring.

Back at home I would need to run to the city twice a week. And it was a 6 hour ride. So I guess you imagine, how long it would always took.

Then my eyes took a glimpse of someone.

It was a white haired boy with a skateboard. He wore blue long sleeved shirt with turtle neck, a top white shirt, purple shorts and shoes.

"Hey!" I said to him directly.

He looked back at me. "Hm?"

I pointed at his skateboard. "You're not running," I said the obvious. He raised a brow at me.

"So?" He asked. I knew I looked somehow stupid, but whatever.

"Isn't that boring?" I asked. He raised his both brows not expecting that question. He slowed down until he was next to me.

"What's your name?" He finally asked. I blinked at him. I asked first- eh whatever I guess I already knew the answer either way.

"Annya. My name is Annya," I said smiling at him.

This somehow made him flinch a little and eyes widened. In a moment he was back to normal. "Killua," he said. I smiled.

He looked around my age. And I never met other people younger than 20. Guess that's what living in a animal society does, I thought.

"Anyways your 12, am I correct?" I asked him.

"Yea and I guess so are you." He said. On the skateboard he was almost 1 head taller.

"Mhm!" I answered. Then again looking at his fluffy hair. Oh it looks like clouds, I thought.

"What are you staring at?" He asked.

"Your hair," I answered honestly. He frowned. "It looks funny," I said chuckling.

"How?" He asked. I gave him an eye closed smile.

"Since it's really cute!"

His face flushed with embarrassment. "S-stop that, idiot! Your embarrassing me!" He hissed trying to hide his flustered face. Ah, so he's soft for compliments...

Time skip brought you by Neko Killua~

"So say are you a cat person, or a dog person?" Killua asked while I was gripping on his back trying not to fall of.

For the last hour we have been talking about things like our hobbies, favourite things and stuff. None of us wanted to brag about the Hunter Exam. He then dared me to ride the skateboard with him at least a little.

"A cat person," I said confidently. It seems like he was satisfied with that answer.

"Then what about sweets?" He asked while I looked at him confused.

"Why asking about sweets?" I raised a brown. He just smirked. "Well I like ice cream. And candy. And maybe chocolate. But I don't really eat them often." I said. I also noticed how he looked proud when I said the word 'chocolate'. "And I'm so done," I said jumping off the skateboard. Killua laughed.

"You couldn't even keep up with 10 minutes," he teased me as I glared at him. We kept talking until an elder voice intervened.

"Hey! Wait up kid!" Killua looked back and so did I.

It was the same man I heard those 2 hours ago. When the phase only started. He looked way more tense and tired then when I first saw him. I looked at Killua wondering if he knew this man.

But he looked as confused and innocent as I did.

"Hm?-" Killua hummed.

"How about you show a little respect for the Exam!" The man yelled. Oh I know where this is going...

"What do you mean?" Killua asked while I was signalising him for both of us to just ignore the man and keep running. But Killua was now more interested in the problem than me.

"I mean- quit using that damn skateboard, that's- that's cheating!" He shouted at him, while I was blankly staring at the man.

"But how is that cheating?" I asked him, while he seemed getting more and more furious. Oh what a pain...

"How?! This is a running test, that's how!" He yelled at both of us, as I stepped closer to Killua. Old people...

"No, it's not," said a voice behind the man.

I looked back to see a black to green haired boy with brown eyes. Familiar... he wore green jacket, green shorts, a yellow bag and had a fishing robe inside.

"What are you talking about now, Gon?!" The man almost screamed at the poor Gon. His name was familiar thought. I slowed down and matched next to him.

"The examiner, only said to follow him, that's all," I'm starting to like this Gon.

"Hey, what side are you on?!" The man yelled. Killua seemed to notice I slowed down as he again drove next to me. I smiled at the green haired boy.

"Thank you there, that old man was drifting me to death," I thanked him. He smiled at me.

Killua stared at both of us, then looked at the Gon. "Hey. How old are you?" He asked. I felt some tense from him, but ignored it,

"I'm twelve years old," Gon answered and I cheered in my head. Yes another my age human!

Killua noticed my happy expression and gave me the 'you-look-very-stupid' face expression. I glared at him. Then again looked back at Gon and smiled. "My name is Annya, nice to meet ya!" I said smiling. Gon smiled at me at me too. "And this is Killua," I said pointing back at the white haired boy.

Gon nodded happily and introduced himself. "I'm Gon!"

Killua stared at us. Then sight, flipping his skateboard and catching it with his arm. "Guess I'll run too." He said as I smiled at him.

"That was cool!" Gon shouted happily. Killua proudly smiled as I chuckled agreeing with Gon.

...

"Why are we at the end again?" I asked. Killua smiled mischievously at me and I decided not to ask that again.

It's been at least 4 hours now. We have ran like 60 kilometres by now. It was getting really boring. I also learned from Gon, that the old man we talked about was named Leorio. Speaking of the devil...

I heard a drop on the ground, as Gon looked back. I quickly glanced at the back to see Leorio now stopped, out of breath, sweating like crazy. Gon slowed down and stopped. I stopped too.

Killua glanced at us confused, why we stopped.

Leorio was breathing heavily, his sweat running down his face. Some part of me felt bad for the old guy. He raised his head to see us.

Killua blankly stared at Leorio. "Hey, forget about him," he said to both of us. I looked over to Gon. "Gon, Killua's right. We have to keep moving," I said tapping his shoulder.

But Gon didn't move from his spot. He confidently stared at Leorio waiting. For what I was not sure. But I soon find out.

Leorio seemed angry as his face lit up with angry expression. "Dammit-" he stood up as rage came over his face and he sprinted fast towards us. "I'M BECOMING A HUNTER NO MATTER WHAAAAAT!" He barked as he ran through us and into everyone else.

Gon's face lit up with happy expression as he took out his fishing robe and swinged it towards old man's baggage. I watched it in awe as the baggage came to Gon's hands. "Got it!" Gon cheered.

"That was so cool!" Me and Killua both exclaimed. Gon smiled at both of us as we started running again. A little faster to catch up to everyone.

"Could I try that later?" I asked staring at the fishing robe, sticking out of his bag. Gon smiled innocently at me.

"Sure if I get to try Killua's skateboard later!" He answered, us both now staring at Killua.

"Yea sure. I want to try that fishing robe myself as well," he revealed his plans as I chuckled.

The Hunter Exam was truly a win win.

Soon we started to see stairs and people climbing up them. I whined out a 'ugh', though Killua and Gon looked like they where seeking for a challenge. Oh god, I see where this is going...

"Hey, I've got an idea, let's race to the finish to see who's faster!" Killua said energy floating his veins. "That includes Gon, me and Annya," he pointed out. I glared at him.

"Sure! Ok. But- the loser has to buy diner!" Gon exclaimed. I stared at the boys full of determination. This made me smile.

"Yea, sure!" I said laughing a little. We all stepped a little back lining in a line.

"Ready..." we all said. "GO!" we shouted out running past others.

We soon reached the stairs as we ran up to Leorio and a blond haired guy. Killua was standing at left, Gon at right and me at the middle.

"See ya at the finish line!" Gon shouted out.

"Yea, catch you later old man!" Killua smirked at Leorio while I just smiled stupidly at them. Leorio seem to take that as a threat.

"Hey, I'm not old! Can't you tell I'm a teenager just like you?!" Leorio exclaimed as we all swept dropped.

"Huh?-" Killua just let out.

"What?" Gon said out.

Me and the blond seem to be the only staring at the Leorio guy like he just grown another head.

...

Even more people dropped by now, specially since we were climbing up stairs. Killua, me and Gon yet where still going. I don't know about them, but it was quite easy for me. Having people that can keep up with me is really nice, I thought as I smiled.

"I'm surprised," Killua said as we climbed up faster. "No one has ever kept up with me. Specially my someone my age. I'm impressed," I stared at him blankly. Did he just read my mind or what?!-

"Oh, impressed? It's nothing," Gon laughed while I looked over at people.

"Hm... or maybe their just slow, so you think that were fast," I said pointing at falling people. Killua sight.

"Yeah maybe," Killua said. I stared at the ceiling. "Maaan, I thought the Hunter Exam is going to be a more of a challenge," he whined out, bored.

I sight. "Yeah I can agree. This is pretty boring for a start," I said examining my hand.

Gon didn't seem happy with our options. "Hey! Why do you two want to be Hunters anyway?" He said. I looked over to Killua letting him start. He looked at me confused.

"Who, me? I never said I wanted to be a Hunter," he answered. This surprised me and Gon as we both let out a 'huh?'

Killua then smiled. "I just heard, the Exam was going to be pretty hard. It sounded kinda fun, so here I am!" He said his eyes meeting mines for a second. I sight.

"But, it's not as fun, hm?" I said looking at him. He nodded. Gon looked a little disappointed.

"What about you?" Killua asked, as we both turned to the green boy.

"Well, the thing is... my dads a Hunter!" Gon said proud. I felt a familiar feeling coming from me. Guess me and Gon are pretty simple. We could be brother and sister if it weren't for our genes. "So I decided I was going to be a Hunter just like him!" Gon exclaimed. "No matter what!" He added.

I smiled at Gon. We are truly alike. Killua stepped in our talk. "So what kind of Hunter is he?" He asked Gon.

Gon shook his head. "No idea," he said. I sweat dropped. Huh?!

Killua stared at Gon for a split second before turning away and starting laughing. Even a giggle came from me. "It's the weirdest thing, I've ever heard!" Killua laughed.

"Huh?" Gon looked at both of us surprised.

"You want to be the same kind of Hunter like your dad, but you don't know ANYTHING about him? That's nuts!" Killua pointed the obvious. I just smiled at them.

"Mito is the one that raised me. She told me a little... but I only seen him in pictures she showed me from a long time ago!" Gon answered Killua's question. If it even was a picture.

"Wait, so who's Mito?" Killua asked curious.

"She's my aunt!" Gon said smiling.

"Ah..." Killua let out and I smacked him on the head to keep quit. He gave me a glare but we both listened what Gon had to say.

"She said that my dad took the Hunter Exam, when he was only 12 years old too!" He said grinning. How innocent this boy can be?! "He passed his first time and became a Hunter. That's when he decided to leave the Island! So I came here to find out why he choose to be a Hunter over staying at home, with me!" He said. Somehow this was a little sad for me so I just gave Gon a smile, saying I liked his story.

"Oh and what about you, Annya?" Killua asked our eyes meeting. I looked at the stairs to see my feet moving every two stairs.

"Well there's nothing really interesting with me," I said smiling. "I grew up being raised to become a Hunter. Both of my parents where Hunters, until I was born and my mother decided staying home with me instead of keeping the thing she loved the most. My father didn't throw his Hunter life and still kept doing what he loved. Maybe that's why he wasn't home so often." I smiled. "But I want to be a Hunter, to overpass my parents and travel around the world!" I said grinning. Killua looked at me interested just like Gon. "I also... I also wanted to make some friends my age," I said smiling sadly. But my smile soon grew to be a happy one. "But look! I'm not even a Hunter and I already have both of you!" I said throwing hands around their shoulders as our shoulders touched. We all chuckled as we opened our eyes to see light.

Everyone around us started cheering as I let go of the two boys and we all sprinted to the end. Satotz stopped in the middle of the way as I gone closer to Killua's side and we ran right into the light all three of us shouting out loudly...

"Goal!"

We all ran into the outside as I laughed at our speed.

"Yay! I did it I was first!" Gon shouted out. Killua frowned at him.

"What are you talking about, I totally won," Killua barked back.

"Guys-" I tried to calm them down.

"No, I won!"

"I won!"

"I was faster than you, so you and Annya have to buy me dinner!"

"Guys." I tried to interfere.

"No way, I was faster, so you are buying me dinner!"

"Na-ah! I was faster!"

"Mister Satotz," I said getting both boys attention. "Could you tell us hi hi one was faster?" I asked.

"Well I think that the girl was the fastest out of three of you," Satotz answered. I blankly stared at him. "But I may be wrong and you all did it at the same time," he finished.

"Oh well then, me and Killua are going to buy Annya dinner!" Gon said happily. I started shaking my hands in the air declining.

"Yea sure, it goes to me," Killua agreed.

"Guys really I don't-"

"Hey mister Satotz," Gon didn't let me finish. "Is this where the second phase begins?" He asked politely.

"No, it isn't," He said. "We have quite a way to go," he said casually.

"Oh man!"
