\\3rd person (POV)\\

Gon's Aunt Mito was calmly drying clothes back at Whale Island, when she noticed a letter hanging from her poster with the Hunter Emblem on it.

She took it home, sat to the table with Gon's grandma and started reading.

"Dear Aunt Mito, and grandma, how are you doing? I'm doing pretty okay myself!" She read, as a slight chuckle escaped her mouth. "I just passed the 3rd phase of the Hunter Exam! Isn't that great? But, it has been pretty though getting this far. Right after I left the Island, the boat I was riding with ran out in a big storm! It wasn't all bad though. That's where I met Leorio and Kurapika! They both at start didn't do that well with each other, but after they solved their conflicts we all became friends! That's what lead us three to travelling together! And we head it off to find the Hunter Exam! But the journey wasn't easy at all! But we did get to the Hunter Exam's site, by answering a crazy woman's riddle, helping out some people! Then the real Hunter Exam began! We had to run about 80 kilometres and we did it! That's also when I made friends with a boy and a girl - Killua and Annya, and their about the same age as me! Killua said that he doesn't intend to be a Hunter, he was just challenging himself. While I noticed that Annya is pretty similar to me! She wants to be a Hunter, because both of her parents are them. I'm really glad I found someone my age! It's nice to have friends like them! We got to challenge the Chairman of the Hunter Exam, make food (to which only Annya passed), and grab eggs from Spider-Eagles! The Hunter Exam's been a lot of fun with them around, Killua and Annya I mean! We three are best friends now so it's pretty cool!...

\\Annya (POV)\\

"Ah, so you sent a letter to your Aunt?" I asked brushing my hair with my fingers.

"Mhm! I hope she gets it as soon as possible!" Gon cheered as I laughed, next to Killua. We just got out of the trick tower and were standing on the green grass, sunlight twilights sparkling on our faces.

"Congratulations on escaping Trick Tower, everyone!" Said a short man with purple hair going up, and big glasses. From his voice I assumed he was the same Lippo, who was the examiner of the 3rd phase. "All that remain now is the 4th phase and the final phase."

"Oh, so not as much, hm?" I smiled.

"Looks like it," Killua nodded. "Only 25 of us remains. So if my calculations are right about 11 of us will pass."

"The 4th phase will take place right there," Lippo pointed at a island behind him. "The Zevil Island. Now let's proceed."

"Why do I not like where this is going..." I mumbled as Gon shushed me.

The guy clapped his fingers as a huge metal box was brought to him.

"To begin with, I will need each of you to draw lots now." Lippo said smiling.

"...really?.."

...draw lots for what?.."

"...what will that decide?.."

"...what is going on..."

Lippo smirked, in a not a likeable way. "Who you Hunt, and who Hunts you." I shot my gaze from the ground in disbelief. "In this box, are exactly 25 numbered cards which means, that one of the numbered cards will be the same as your badge. Now, each of you will draw a card in the order you exited the tower."

I sight. Looks like I'm gonna need to wait some time, huh?

"Now then, which of you was first?"

Everyone looked around as I suddenly sensed the same dark aura I've remembered from before.

The clown looking man, with the number of 44. I still didn't know his name, but I felt some tension coming from Gon. Do they know each other?

When the man walked up to the box I saw blood marks on his shoulder and hip. Someone powerful must of been in his way...

The clown drawn out his number and walked away. Next was a weirdo guy who was all shaking, as if he was a doll, controlled by strings. Then it was the Ninja guy from before.

After 17 more people it was my turn. I walked up to the box and took out my card. I saw that it was covered whit a white panel. I quickly bowed and walked away.

When everyone finally drawn out their numbers, tension entering my composure I stood next to Killua.

"Has everybody drawn? Alright then, take off the sticker." Lippo said as I looked at my card slowly taking it off.

I flinched at number. This... this person...

"The number you see is your target," Lippo said as I turned around to his voice. I saw as everyone quickly hid their numbers with their hands, Killua and Gon doing the same. I copied them and hid it.

I again looked at my target.

I calmly looked at my number. No idea who this is but I'm fired up to hunting!

Killua next to me looked bored and maybe confused at his number. I looked back and saw Gon's surprised and tensed face.

"This box has recorded the number that each of you drew. Each card was tallied and then stored in memory." Lippo said as I glanced at him. "So if you like, your free to dispose of the cards. It makes no difference at the point." He looked mischievous and weird. "The objective is to steal your target's id badge!"

"So we don't have to kill each other?" I asked raising my hand. People around me tensed at me. Oh right, I'm suppose to be angelic and cute...

"Well the method is up to you," Lippo answered my question. "However if you kill your opponent, you can take your target's badge easily."

Some people gasped around me.

"Yeah that sure sounds like the fastest way to me," one guy with red jacket said. My eyes quickly moved to see that he wasn't covering his badge. 197. Next to him where another two boys that looked quite similar to him. 198 and 199. Not my targets, I guess.

"Listen carefully," Lippo raised his hand. "Collecting the ID badge of your specified target will give you 3 points, understand? Your own badge is also worth 3 points. And all the other badges are worth 1 point." I looked at my hand covering my badge 31. Damn your rich. "In order to pass to the final phase, you will have to collect 6 points. So during your time there on Zevil Island, gather enough badges to collect 6 points so you wouldn't fail the Exam."

I narrowed my eyes, a sight escaping my mouth.

"Only those who do, will clear the 4th phase of the Hunter Exam."

...

"I'd like to welcome all of you for making it to the Exams 4th phase! I'll be your guide, it's nice to meet you! You can call me Cara!" Said a women with red long skirt, white shirt and a yellow top. She had red-orange hair and yellow round eyes. She was the one to take us to our destination with a ship. "It will take two hours to reach it's destination - Zevil Island! All 25 applicants who made it this far, are granted an open invitation to participate again in next year's Exam no matter what!" She said making a cute girl face. "So even if you don't pass this time, we really hope you'll try again! Never say, die... right? Everybody..?"

I blankly stared at her. I think this girl is nuts or something. She looked dissatisfied and confused of why we aren't smiling and laughing at her words.

I sight noticing that everyone has already taken off their badges. It appears that the war has already begun huh?

I noticed Gon and Killua sitting next to the ships board, waving to me to join them. I smiled as I quickly ran to them. "Hey guys! Whatcha doing?" I smiled.

"Nothing much," Killua said, his hands behind his head. "We just wanted to ask who was your target."

"Oh mine?" I said surprised. "Well I can tell it's neither of you two. Or Leorio and Kurapika."

"Oh I see," Gon said bringing his hand to his chin. "Mines the number 44. Hisoka."

I widened my eyes. "That weirdo clown with dark aura?! He's your target?!"

"Yeah... I'm pretty nervous of what should I do," he mumbled. "I once had fought him before, and it was the most scariest and exciting thing I've done in my entire life!" He said as I shook my head.

"Gon you have to keep on guard. That guy... he's very dangerous. More dangerous than I can probably imagine," I said putting my hands on his shoulders. "Be careful with him. Is that clear?"

Gon smiled at my worry. "Don't worry Annya! I'll be fine, promise!" He said as I sighted and let go of him.

"Anyways what is your number?" I said glancing at Killua.

"Hm? Oh mine is 199." He said closing his eyes. "Also we told you our numbers so can you tell yours?"

I smiled. "It's 131. I have no idea who that is, but I'll figure it out, probably."

Killua nodded.

"Let's do our best." He said as we three rested against the board, listening to the sea.

...

I stood next to the two boys as I smiled. We have finally arrived. Even if we where still on the ship.

"Thanks for being patient, everyone!" Said Cana as she stood next to the exit of the ship to the island made by a long board. "We've arrived at Zevil Island!" She announced. "Ok now! You will be leaving the boat in the order you completed the 3rd phase, from the shortest to the longest!"

"How original..." I mumbled as Killua grinned next to me.

"You'll go a shore, one at a time! With 2 minute interval, separating all of the applicants, alright?" She said bringing out something similar to calculator.

"I guess it will mean we will be waiting here a while..." Killua sight along with me.

"Yeah..." Gon agreed.

"In the meantime, you could try to come up with a strategy to defeat Hisoka," I whispered to his ear.

"Oh! Yeah that's right!" Gon exclaimed.

"You'll be on the Island, exactly 1 week!" Cana said bringing my attention to her. "That means you only have 7 days to collect your six points and then return to this location!" She smiled. "First applicant! Get ready to disembark, now!"

Hisoka walked up as I gulped. If he is Gon's target, then it'll take some time for Gon to find him.

After 2 minutes the same puppet like applicant walked out. Then 2 minutes later the ninja guy, then some bee guy and so go on...

About 38 minutes after Hisoka went out it was coming to my turn soon.

"Gon, have you came up with a strategy yet?" I asked. Gon flinched at my voice.

"No," he mumbled. I sight. "But don't worry Annya, I will pass the Exam, you'll see! Don't worry about me, I'll be fine!"

"But-..."

"Listen to Gon, Annya. You should really focus on your own target right now," Killua said bringing his hand on my shoulder. I looked at him in the eye as I nodded.

"Alright! The next applicant shall go next!" I heard the women's voice. I noticed that the guy that went here before me was gone. So it my turn.

"Ok. I'm off!" I said smiling at the boys. "See you later!"

I ran to the women and waved at the left applicants, that where my friends and Tompa.

I entered the Island as I quickly slide in the forest, already hiding my presence.

The Hunting phase has begun.
