chapter eight
third person's pov
╰── ⋅ ⋅ ── ✩ ── ⋅ ⋅ ──╯

Evie had told Tiffany that she can come to her and Mal's room, as she likes the girl, as she's funny and sarcastic. Tiffany didn't say no, as that's where she's currently at.

Tiffany, Mal, Evie and apparently Jane are all in Mal and Evie's room as Tiffany was doing her History of Auradon homework, and as Jane was distracting her by pacing around deep in conversation.

"Mom, said 'if a boy can't see the beauty within, then he's not worth it'. Can you believe that what world does she live in?" Jane complains about her mother as Tiffany is getting annoying about listening to this.

In her defense, she was told that it was just going to be Mal, Evie and her. Not Jane too.

"Auradon." Mal and Tiffany say in unison and then two smiles at each other. Maybe, Mal isn't as bad as she thought. She is actually nice in her own way.

"Mal and Tiff, do you like?" Evie says holding up a dress, as both Mal and Tiffany look up from what they were doing, and they nod their heads at Evie.

"Yeah, it's wicked cool. It brings out your eyes." Mal says as Tiffany nod her head.

"I know." Evie says agreeing with the two girls.

"I'll never get a boyfriend." Jane says as Tiffany and Mal nod their heads at her.

"Boyfriends are overrated." Mal and Tiffany say in unison once again, as they have a habit of doing it without realizing that they did it.

"And how would you know Mal and Tiff. You two never had one." Evie says as the two shrug their shoulders.

"I had a boyfriend, but he was wasted time." Tiffany says as Mal nods her head the girl.

"It's because I don't need one." Mal says under her breath. "They're a waste of time." She adds as just then Evie suddenly stops making the dress and stands up.

"Oh, no! I forgot to do Chad's homework! Oh, no! Oh, no, no, no." Evie says as she grabs Chad's backpack and starts doing his homework. Mal and Tiffany shake their heads at what just happened.

"That's our exact points." Mal says as Tiffany smiles at how much her and Mal are agreeing with each other. She finds it amusing actually.

She never thought that anyone would have the same opinions as her, as not a lot of people do. Which is why she doesn't have that many friends, outside of the daughters of her mom's friends. Including Zariah, though her and Zariah have different personalities they are still close to each other.

Then the door knocked as Mal groans before getting up and opening the door, as there was a girl who was Tiffany's age who had short black hair to her shoulders. As it was Lonnie, the daughter of Mulan and Li Shang. Tiffany has known Lonnie since they were kids, but they aren't best friends more like acquaintances. Then again, they don't have that many classes with each other.

"Hey guys! Hi Tiffany! I'm Lonnie. My Mom's Mulan?" Lonnie says before Mal and Evie give her a weird look, before she clears her throat before continuing what she was saying. "No? Anyways, I love what you and Josie did with Jane's hair, and I know that you hate us, and, well, you're evil. But do you think you can do mine?" Lonnie says to the two particularly to Mal.

"Why would I do that for you?" Mal asks as Tiffany goes back to doing her homework, as she's getting distracted by the conversation.

"I'll pay you fifty dollars." Lonnie says holding up a little bag of coins.

Evie gets up and snatches the bag from Lonnie. "Good answer. I need to buy more material. Let's see, I'm thinking, we lose the bangs, maybe some layers and some highlights." Evie says as she draws a hand through Lonnie's hair, but the short haired girl shakes her head.

"Yeah, no. I want it to be cool. Like Mal's?" Lonnie says as Mal looks down at her own hair before looking back up at Lonnie's, before scowling as she grabs her mother's spell book.

"The split ends too?" Evie says to Mal as she stops once she finds the spell.

"Beware, forswear, replace the old with cool hair." Mal says before waving her fingers as once it's done, Lonnie walks over towards the mirror that's in the room.

She has a smile on her face as Evie walks towards Lonnie. "I know. I know. It looks like a mop on your head. You know what? Let's cut it off, layer it..." Evie says before Lonnie turns to her and shaking her head before turning back to the mirror.

"No, no, no, no, no! I love it." Lonnie says as Evie gives her a weird look for saying that.

"You do?" Evie asks her like she's crazy.

"It's just..." Lonnie says before she rips the end of her skirt as Jane walks towards the mirror too. "Now, I'm cool."

"Like ice." Mal says with a small smile on her face as she turns back and looks at Tiffany who is focused on her homework.

Jane does the same thing as Lonnie as she instantly regretted doing that. "What did I just do?! Mom's going to kill me!" Jane says freaking out again, which made Tiffany to roll her eyes at the girl.

As she loves Jane, but sometimes she can be annoying, as she's glad that Jane isn't her roommate as it's Josephine. Which is a good thing as Josie is like Carlos (from what she's heard from Ben).

.....

the kitchen

"All right. It says that we still need one tear, and I never cry." Mal says as Josie is snacking on some delicious little food that she doesn't know the name of. What? She's hungry and has an appetite.

"Let's just chop up some onions." Josie says with a mouthful of the food as she holds up an onion.

"It says that we need one tear of human sadness. And if this love potion gets the best, we have to follow it exactly." Mal says reading off the spell.

"A tear is a tear." Jay says as Josie shakes her head as she may not really pay attention, but she knows that's not true.

"That's not true, Jay. They both have antibodies and enzymes, but an emotional tear has more protein-based hormones than a reflex tear." Evie says as Josie turns her head to Evie clearly confused.

Is she speaking English? Or am I just dumb? Josie thought in her head at what Evie said.

"Dumb it down for some people? What the Hades, did you just say?" Josie asks her as Evie told her the translation of what she said.

"Well, why didn't you say that." Josie says as she does back eat her chocolate.

"Listen to you." Mal says impressed by Evie.

"Yeah, I knew that." Jay says defending himself as Josie shakes her head as she isn't that stupid.

"Did not." Carlos mumbled under his breath.

"Yeah, I did." Jay says as Josie rolls her eyes at the banter between the two.

"Okay, children, no one cares if you both knew it, so shut it." Josie says annoyed but it came out rude, as the two boys stopped talking. Then the door to the kitchen opened to reveal Lonnie.

"There you are, Mal! I was looking for you. You know, all the girls you want to do their hair! Midnight snack, huh? What are you guys making?" Lonnie asks as Josie rolls her eyes at the happy girl, as she clearly isn't a fan of happy people. They annoy the heck out of her.

"Nothing special. Just cookies." Mal says as then Lonnie did the most shocking thing and dips her finger into the cookie dough that makes Josie almost spit out her chocolate.

"Oh, no, no!" Josie says as she hurried almost drops her snack as she got beside Mal.

Lonnie looked up to the group of friends that are almost leaning their body at her trying to stop her. She is clearly confused. "What? I'm not gonna double dip." Lonnie says.

"Feel anything, uuuuhhhh, weird?" Josie says as she slowly gets into Lonnie's face.

"Yeah, like maybe it might be missing something?" Mal asks.

"Hey, there." Jay says flirtatiously to Lonnie which causes Josie to roll her eyes at him.

Pathetic. Josie said in her head as apparently Carlos thought of the same thing and the two looked at each other before gagging slightly.

"It could use some chips." Lonnie says as everyone looks at her weirdly.

"Chips?" Jay asked the girl.

"And those are..." Mal says before Lonnie so graciously stole Josie's chocolate chips.

"Hey! Give them back!" Josie exclaimed as she pouted. "Man, that was rude."

"Chocolate chips. Just the most import food group. Wait, didn't your parents ever make you guys like chocolate chip cookies? Like, when you're feeling sad, and they're fresh from the oven, with a big old glass of milk, and she just makes you laugh and puts everything into perspective and... why are you all looking at me like that?" Lonnie says as Josie looked down to her fiddling with her rings on her fingers which she didn't even realize what she was doing.

"The only good thing my father did to me, was not make me lose a hand." Josie says to out loud as Lonnie has a frown on her face. "Or give me a hook for a hand."

"It's just different where we're from." Mal says as Josie wipes her tears away as she hates when she cries, as on the isle crying is weakness, and Josie tries not to show her weakness side.

"Yeah, I know. I just, you know, I thought. Even villains love their kids..." Lonnie says.

"I think it's ironic how ever since we've been here all you Auradonian people think of the most rubbish stereotypes of what it's like on the Isle of the Lost when none of you have ever been there. So, stop making up lies, unless you've been there firsthand." Josie says as she walked in front of Lonnie's face which scared the girl as Jay and Mal had to hold their friend back from lunging at Lonnie.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know." Lonnie says as she hurriedly went to the door and left without another word.

"Well, that's one way to get her to leave." Mal mumbled under her breath as Josie gave her friend a look.

After they were done making the cookies, the gang went to into their separate directions for the night with their plan in motion for tomorrow.
