The day of action was already here. Yerin was sitting opposite Eunwoo, while their parents sat on either side of the rounded table. The lunch was going well, but Yerin knew that the question would arise soon. Her parents looked extra happy today, considering the fact that they were ready to bind her daughter in a relationship which she never wanted. They were happy because they would be able to crush her dreams today. However, Yerin knew it would not happen.
"As you know, Mr. Cha, we were always ready for their wedding. So, it's a complete yes from our side," Yerin's father said, while smiling at the Cha family. Her mother supported his statement too. Yerin internally scoffed at her father's words. He didn't even bother to ask her one time.
"So, what do you say, Mr. Cha?" Yerin's mother asked while smiling slightly. Mr. Cha chuckled before asking Eunwoo to tell his decision.
Eunwoo glanced at Yerin while she just looked at the plate. She was sure that he would reject the proposal and kept her head down. She was ready to hear those words which would lift off the burden from her heart, and then she would be able to follow her dreams. She would be free like a bird.
"I'm ready for the marriage."
The words made her shoot up her head, as she stared at him with bewildered eyes. Words got stuck in her mouth as she opened her mouth to speak. Eunwoo smiled at her, while her eyes glistened with tears. She wasn't going to be free like a bird. Instead, she was trapped in a bigger cage than the previous one. She didn't expect it. Wasn't Eunwoo going to reject her? Because he told her not to expect anything from him.
Everyone celebrated the start of a new relationship, well, actually the start of the new profitable companies. She looked down at her plate when a single tear rolled down her eyes. She wiped her tear, making sure no one noticed her.
The talk continued between their parents with a joyful celebration. The lunch ended after an hour and they stood up to part their ways. Their families talked to each other when Eunwoo came to her.
He smiled at her as he said, "Yerin, I know I was not a great boyfriend. I actually don't know how to express my feelings. I'm really sorry, Yerin. But, I actually fell in love with you in this one year," he held her hand, before continuing, "I promise I'll be the best partner for you."
They both parted their way with their parents. She bid goodbye to her parents before stepping in her car. She rested her head on the steering wheel, before letting her tears fall.
She was screwed.

"It's over, Mina."
Tears started pricking Mina's eyes as she looked at Jungkook. It felt like his words pierced her heart. She was going to utter something but was stopped by Jungkook, "Don't ask the reason, Mina. You know very well what you have been doing for the last three months."
She burst out in tears as she shook her head before hugging him. He tried to get away from her but she didn't let him go. He harshly said, "Stop, Mina. It's of no use now. You should have thought about this before doing that."
Mina looked into his eyes and muttered, "Jungkook, please don't do this. I know it was going to happen one day, but now when it's actually happening... I'm sorry, Jungkook. I can't live without you."
He scoffed at her before chuckling sarcastically, "I never expected this from you, Mina," his eyes watered as he made her break the hug, "I can't believe that you did that."
Tears endlessly flowed down her eyes when Jungkook walked toward the door. She rushed and stopped him before he could reach the door.
"Jungkook, please listen to me once-"
"Let me go, Mina. It's enough. You are not the only one wrong. I'm also chea-" he said to confess his deeds too, but was interrupted by Mina.
"I did that because of your father, Jungkook," her nose became red as she sobbed.
He looked at her shocked. He shook his head at her as he said, "You're lying. What did my father have to do with all this?"
"I'm not lying, Jungkook. My dad's company became bankrupt and he had a stroke," his eyes widened at her statement as she continued, "I needed some money to send to my father in Japan. Your father decided to help me but on one condition," she looked into his shocked eyes with her teary ones, "He never liked me, you know that, Jungkook. He told me to break up with you. I had to do something for my father, Jungkook. So, I agreed. I knew you would not break up with me that easily. So I planned that drama."
Her lips trembled as she said, "I intentionally started to be distant with you. I avoided your calls, texts and your planned dates. But it was not enough, so, I asked my childhood best friend to help me. I intentionally left the door open that day, so you could think that I was cheating on you. Not only once, I tried to give you those fake hints all the time. At the parking lot, Seojun was there with me too. In this all mess, I became a villain in my best friend's eyes because she saw me that day with you."
She came closer to him, her eyes being bloodshot red as she cupped his face in her hands while saying, "Believe me, Jungkook. I do love you a lot. Please don't leave me. I can't... I can't live without you."
Tears rolled down his eyes as he heard all the reality. His mind wandered to all those moments when he thought she was cheating on him. She sobbed while asking for his forgiveness, to which he nodded his head and said, "I'm sorry, Mina. I didn't know that you were suffering this much. I'm really sorry for doubting you."
She shook her head, denying his statement. She stared in his dark orbs as she asked, "You will not leave me, right?"
His eyes teared up as he couldn't think of anything. He, eventually, nodded his head slightly in shame. She hugged him while he cried. Images of Yerin started clouding his eyes as more tears rolled down his eyes. This all was so wrong. All the time, he thought Mina was a much bigger villain than him, when the whole time he was the actual villain. He dreaded facing Yerin, to see her reaction when she would come to know that Mina was not wrong. She would be devastated. What would he say to her?
He fucked up.
