The Ravena and The Alpha
✦✧✦
Lift me up and I feel lighter
I'm living in a dream
Wake me up if everything changes
And nothing's what it seems
Come raise the dead
I'm dreaming of the end
Hallucinate the tables are turning and life
Was everything you said
Come raise the dead
I'm leaning on the edge
Illuminate the way to my heart
It's twisting on a thread
Come raise the dead

Court of Ravenia, The Old World; 10th Century
For centuries now, the small kingdom of Ravenia thrived with its authentic culture and a surplus of exotic food and spices as the denizens rejoiced under the compassionate rule of the royal family; the De Martels.
The De Martels were a long line of successors of the throne ever since Ravenia was founded; the gentry wholeheartedly looked up to them and the most loved De Martel was their last king, Joshua.
He was a kind and giving man who appreciated the small details of life and as a ruler, he wanted nothing but to see content and peace on the faces of his subjects and the common people that made Ravenia glorious.
When he was merely a zealous knight under his father's rule, he fell for a fair maiden from foreign lands. The love he boar for her was so immaculate and full of passion that he fought his father and the nobles and whoever that opposed their union.
Ultimately, he convinced them all; showing them that love does conquer all.
And that is what then weaved through the streets of Ravenia. A promise of peace and neverending health that arrived after Joshua came into the rule with Regina Ravena by his side as his lawfully wedded wife.
Regina was a mystery when Joshua first met her. She came from a unique bloodline that first originated from Greece. A bloodline that was filled with rich and powerful heritage and history.
Joshua accepted Regina for who she was and where she came from because underneath all the mysteries and rigid exterior, there was a woman with so much courage and loyalty in her heart that she would happily raise wars for the man she loved.
In fact, the king loved his queen so much that as soon as he ascended on the throne, he changed the kingdom's original name after her family name.
It was her Ravena blood that made her so fierce that her heart could only ever belong to one man and that was Joshua De Martel.
After a year of being married, Regina gave birth to her and Joshua's daughter and the heir to the Ravenia throne.
Aurelia Ravena De Martel.
A child born under cosmic speculations so rare and enigmatic that even the gods waited for such auspicious occasions. She was a gift sent from the Ravena ancestors who were tired of seeing their successors being oppressed.
Aurelia Ravena, under the guidance of her mother Regina and her doting father Joshua, was meant to bring peace and solidarity back to their bloodline that had been suffering for centuries under the oppression from those who would see nothing but the fall of the Ravenas.
The Ravenas. The greatest coven of witches that existed four thousand years ago and from whom all the witches originated. They were massacred to extinction by their rivals and only one surviving warrior was left.
The Ravenas thrived on love and passion. Wherever their families went, they showered the place with wealth and luck. The Ravenas were the true keepers of nature and the strongest creatures walking. Their power was the reason for their glory and their power was the reason for their fall.
After the vicious attacks that wiped out their existence leaving the lone survivor named Aleksis Ravena, she stopped practicing magic altogether. And nor did any of her successors. And before the Ravenas knew it, all of their magic disappeared entirely.
Aurelia was sent to change that. Aurelia was sent with the magic and powers of all Ravenas before her. She was the torch that would lead them out of their darkness so the coven could once again be seen as royalty instead of some forgotten legend.
Aurelia was a smart and inquisitive girl as a child. She questioned and quipped over everything she found strange and she then tried to understand it, for, she believed that if she understood something, it would never hold power over her or scare her.
She believed that the things that man did not understand were what made him afraid. Once he understood them, he could become stronger than the demons that haunted him.
Aurelia had abilities that even left her mother amazed. She was special in more ways than one.
Aurelia's spirit was what caused the entire kingdom to love and respect her. Some nobles even envied her because of her wit. Her royal blood and her rich heritage made her one of a kind.
She lost her mother after sixteen winters of herself being born and to say that she was shattered to lose her mentor and guide, would have been an understatement.
Regina was the light in her darkness. She taught her everything she knew. She trained her to control her powers even though she did not have any of her own.
She trained her to be the leader that her ancestors had destined Aurelia to be and she taught her how to live freely and without the shackles of society holding her back.
Aurelia felt like she lost a part of herself when she lost her mother.
Joshua spiraled in his grief. His wife was gone and his sixteen-year-old daughter was breaking over and over again. And Ravenia was weeping the loss of their queen as well as the sorrow of their beloved king and his daughter.
Soon after that, he stepped down from the throne and Aurelia ascended. Thus becoming the first queen that Ravenia ever had. Much to the dismay of Joshua's adoptive children, Tristan and Aurora.
Joshua had brought Aurora and Tristan home after his sister died giving birth to the twins out of wedlock. Regina loved them as her own and a five-year-old Aurelia quickly got accustomed to the idea of having siblings to play with.
However, that was not the case with the twins. They were envious of Aurelia. Aurora tried to compete with her beauty whereas Tristan abhorred her for her skills in combat and diplomacy.
Their jealousy only grew with age and before they knew it, she was sitting on the royal throne of Ravenia.
Aurelia loved her siblings deeply, but her patience had its limits. She knew of their intentions and she knew of Tristan's malpractices because she openly opposed them and being the eldest and the heir to the throne, they had no choice but to listen.
All that mattered for Aurelia was her duty towards her house and bloodline, for, she had been trained for exactly that for her entire life.
So, what happens when one fine day a certain family of attractive Mikaelsons comes knocking at her front door? And what happens when she finds herself drowning in the striking blue eyes of the blond Mikaelson brother?

Mystic Falls; The New World; 10th Century
Oceans away from Ravenia was a small Viking village protected by vast spreads of woodlands and meadows. Life in the village was hard as the citizens lived in a hand to mouth situation but it was manageable.
The leader of the Vikings was Mikael. A man with a strong point of view towards life; a view that only held respect for power and perseverance. Other than that, he believed that anything below his stature should be the receiver of his wrath.
And most of that wrath was taken out on his enemies or his home; on his third eldest son Niklaus that he, for some reason, believed to be weak.
His wife Esther loved Niklaus deeply. Her other children believed him to be the favorite of their mother and he was.
The young man who wielded a paintbrush better than he could a sword. The man who appreciated the beauty of nature better than the songs of war. The man his father believed to be weak because he could carve better than he could whittle a staff.
The man who always received the shortest end of the stick and hence punishment to crimes unknown to himself.
His younger and only sister, Rebekah loved him deeply, and as did his elder brother, Elijah. Their hearts clenched in pain and fear for his life every time Mikael raised a hand on their sibling and they wished for nothing more than to help him.
Esther tended to a weeping Niklaus' wounds after every time he received a beating. And even though she was a strong witch, there was hardly anything she could do to stop her husband from the atrocities he unleashed upon her son.
She knew she had to protect her secret that Niklaus was in fact her son. Her son that she bore out of an affair with another man. She did not attempt to stop her husband in her selfish pursuit to keep her vile secret hidden.
But alas, truth is one of those things that can never stay hidden.
One wintery night, Niklaus took his youngest brother Henrik out on a full moon. They returned with Henrik's young body torn to shreds in the arms of his sobbing elder brother.
Henrik was a victim of men who turned into beasts on the night of the full moon. The wolves that the Mikaelsons shared their village with.
In a fit of grief and anger, Mikael forced his wife to cast a spell to protect their children for they had already lost their eldest in the Old World to plague and now, Henrik's death pushed them over the edge.
The witch with the help of her friend dived into dark arts and that was when the first successful immortal race was born and that was what led to Esther's cover being blown.
The bloodlust that arrived after becoming immortal drove Niklaus to kill someone and when he did, his true nature was revealed in front of his family. He was not only an immortal but also a wolf underneath the facade of a man.
An abomination; that was what Mikael called him when he finally realized that the son he loathed so much was actually not his own.
Mikael once again forced his wife to bind the beast inside Niklaus. To curse him for the rest of his eternity by making him into half the man he truly was.
And Esther did. She placed a spell on him that never allowed him to turn into his full potential. She bound him with the feeling of abandonment growing wild inside him as he struggled under his father's hold whilst his mother completed the spell.
Esther turned his children into immortals but she took parts of them that they would never be able to reconcile.
Kol and Finn lost their magic, Elijah lost his youth, Rebekah lost her innocence and Niklaus, he lost half of himself.
In a fit of rage, the third eldest Mikaelson half-brother killed his mother and blamed his father in front of the other siblings.
And so Mikael's ire grew towards Niklaus and he vowed to kill the son that was forced upon him whenever he saw him next.
And so they ran. Five Mikaelson siblings ran from their father and arrived into the Old World where it all began.
What happens when the Mikaelsons find themselves stumbling upon the bountiful kingdom of Ravenia? And what happens when they meet the Ravena queen reigning?
Alright!!! So, this was a small introduction to both the characters and more of their stories will progress with the plot. Hopefully, you guys like it so far. I am incredibly excited to bring this story to you all.
