"Are you sure that your werewolf, Mason, is gonna stay in town until Nik comes?" Adonis questioned the brunette beside him.
She smirked, "Oh, I will make him stay."
Adonis groaned, "You're nasty, Kat."
She chuckled, "Always, darling."
"Never call me that, again." He grimaced making her laugh whilst they pulled up outside the hospital.
"So, what's the plan?" Adonis asked staring at the building in front of them as Katherine came to stand beside him.
"Caroline Forbes." She replied, "She's a patient here and she has Damon's blood in her system."
Adonis raised an eyebrow at that, "You do realize that we can literally make anyone a vampire for the ritual, right?"
Katherine clicked her tongue, "Now, where's the fun in that?"
He grinned, his eyes matching the devilish glint present in the Petrova's orbs as they made their way inside.
They were about to enter Caroline's room when a nurse from the reception stopped them.
"Visiting hours are over, miss...?" She trailed off not recognizing the two.
"I'm Elena," Katherine spoke up in a soft tone that made Adonis snort. The nurse gave him a weird look.
"I'm Caroline's friend and this is my cousin, the Sheriff sent us here to check on her for the night." She added subtly glaring Adonis.
The nurse eyed the two warily for a minute before nodding, "Fine, okay, don't take too long though."
Katherine smiled sweetly, "Of course!"
Saying so, she cracked Caroline's door open as Adonis entered behind her and proceeded to shut the blinds.
That was when Caroline started to wake up as Katherine smiled down at her, "Elena?" Caroline whispered in a confused tone, "What are you doing here?"
Katherine smirked down at her, "I'm Katherine." She mumbled, "And I have a message for the Salvatore brothers."
Caroline's brows furrowed as she looked at the brunette, "What message?" She asked.
Adonis watched from behind as he saw Katherine take her time killing the blonde.
Caroline was yet to see him but from where he was standing he could tell that she was beautiful.
He almost felt bad for her. Almost.
"Tell them, I said: game on."
Caroline did not even get the time to argue because as soon as the words flew out of Katherine's mouth, she was already being smothered to death with a pillow.
Katherine smiled in satisfaction as she stepped back after listening to Caroline's heart finally stop.
Adonis came to stand beside her as he looked at the now-dead teenager, "What a shame, she would have made a good human."
Katherine snorted, "Trust me, I did her a favor. And Klaus, of course."
"You do realize that there's a chance that he won't forgive you even after all this, right?" He asked her as they walked out together.
She rolled her eyes, "Who needs forgiveness from that jackass. I just need to stop running from him."
He chuckled shaking his head, "And we both know that you and Elijah can't happen until Nik starts liking you. Or else, you might as well end up like Celeste."
Katherine rolled her eyes, "Don't take that harlot's name in front of me. Elijah chose her over me in the 1800s. I'm glad Klaus killed her. Good riddance."
"Well, don't say that in front of Elijah if you don't want to blow your chance this time. Celeste was a part of a particularly poetic phase of his life." Adonis teased making her hit his chest.
"Yes, yes, the whole oh, my Celeste...the stars are bleeding, crap." She vexed rolling her eyes with malice.
Adonis laughed at that, "You become an easy target when it comes to my boy Elijah."
"And the Salvatores think I give a fuck about them." She snickered shaking her head.
Adonis agreed, "Well, you know what they say; nothing like a Petrova to keep you on your toes."
Katherine grinned at that, "Well, Petrovas might be heartbreakers but we can never be the charmer that is Adonis De Martel-Mikaelson." She said tilting her head.
"Touché!"

Court of Ravenia; 1002 A.D
Niklaus casually roamed through the palace gardens as he went on picking berries and flowers to make some new colors with.
Living a peaceful life in Ravenia and for once not fearing the wrath of his father made him wish to return to his old hobbies.
He was grateful for the life of tranquility that he and his family had for the moment. And no matter how many ways Aurelia challenged him, he knew she was no enemy to him.
He would even go as far as considering her an acquaintance. Her generosity did save all of their lives.
He was on his way back to his chambers when his hearing caught the sound of a baby's cries.
At first, he didn't pay heed to it but then the wails prevailed and he stopped in his tracks and let out a sigh.
His feet started taking him into the direction of the hysterical cries as he felt angst for no one being there to care for the poor child.
He furrowed his brows when he stopped in front of Aurelia's bed-chambers and saw the door ajar.
He realized that it was Adonis' wailing that brought him here as his thoughts got even more twisted because he knew Aurelia would never leave her alone.
Walking in, he saw the infant restless in his crib as his voice echoed through the walls for as far as the ears could hear.
He hesitated for a moment thinking that Aurelia might not like his presence near her son.
But then he changed his mind because something inside him stirred at the sight of a months-old child crying alone.
He could not see him that way; something in this situation reminded him of himself and he did not wish to wait until someone came to tend to Adonis.
Shaking his head, he walked over to Adonis' crib and picked him up as the boy continued to cry and squirm.
Niklaus watched him for a moment as he brought him closer to himself as he cradled him in his arms.
Adonis still sniffled as Niklaus lightly cooed to him in hopes of calming him down.
"Hey, there, little King." He whispered, "You're safe from whatever scares you. Your mother would be on her way by now, I'm sure you don't want her to see you cry, do you?"
He cooed and hummed to him as Adonis's cries died down and instead he looked into the eyes of the man whose face he was seeing for the first time.
"There, there, warrior. It is alright. You are cared for." He said again as he placed his finger on the child's chin making him let out a cackle.
Niklaus felt his lips tug up in a delightful smile as he finally got the boy to laugh.
He didn't know why, but he felt the warmth of home creep into his heart when he looked at the semblance of joy in Adonis' eyes.
He felt happy and protective over the small bundle in his arms.
He was about to place Adonis back in his crib when he turned around because of the door slamming open.
"What do you think you are doing here? And where is Lady Margaret?" Aurelia snapped looking at him with angry wide eyes as she saw him holding her son.
Niklaus rolled his eyes, "Your Lady seems to have forgotten to follow your orders. I found Adonis alone and wailing, I could not possibly leave him in such a state."
Aurelia's eyes widened at that as she dashed to take her son in her arms again as she looked him over for any injuries.
"Relax, love. Nothing was wrong. He must have been crying after waking up alone." He explained stepping towards her unconsciously.
Aurelia closed her eyes for a second and took a deep breath, "I am never trusting Adonis' safety with anyone again! Even if I have to attend council meetings with my baby." She muttered.
"Well, that would be a sight," Niklaus commented making her roll her eyes.
Before she could say anything, Lady Margaret came in laughing at something Aurora had just said.
Aurelia's eyes hardened seeing her sister and Niklaus just pursed his lips knowing this wouldn't end well.
"Lady Margaret, I see you have been busy while I trusted you to take care of my son." The raven-haired queen chided.
"Your Grace, I-"
"Oh, hush now, sister!" Aurora interrupted, "Don't get so apprehensive. I just took Lady Margaret out for a walk to the gardens after the tiring job of taking after Little Adonis." She said smiling.
Aurelia was aggravated by that, "You're right, Aurora, perhaps Margaret was too exhausted."
Margaret's eyes shot up as Aurelia turned to her with a blank face, "You have been relieved of your duties as my lady. You can go now."
"Your grace, no-"
"No more arguments, Lady Margaret; please, feel free to stroll the gardens from now on." Aurelia snapped as Margaret gave her a saddened look and walked out.
"Must you be this dramatic?" Aurora breathed as an annoyed expression took over her face.
Aurelia placed Adonis back in his crib as she turned to look at her younger sister with a glare.
"You out of all people should be aware of what I do to those who lag at their duties." She muttered.
Aurora rolled her eyes before her gaze met that of Niklaus and she let a flirtatious smile come onto her face, "Lord Niklaus, how are you, this fine day?" She asked batting her lashes.
Aurelia almost felt like breaking into fits of laughter at the visible shudder that ran through Niklaus' body when Aurora addressed him.
Paying their conversation no mind, Aurelia turned back to her son as she watched Adonis clutch onto her index finger with small hands.
"I'm fine, Lady Aurora, and I hope you are too," Niklaus replied courteously.
"I saw you picking flowers today in the gardens; if they interest you, then perhaps I can take you to my personal greenhouse." She offered, making Niklaus look slightly surprised.
Aurelia almost snorted before remembering the number of times her mother used to scold her for that; she used to say it was not ladylike.
Niklaus cleared his throat, "I was picking carnations to make some paint, my Lady. Perhaps, I will seek you out the next time."
Aurora's face fell listening to that as she tried not to scowl openly.
"Sister, is there anything else I can help you with?" Aurelia spoke up without turning to look at her.
"No, that will be all, Lia." Saying so, Aurora nodded to Niklaus and walked out.
"You don't seem to like your sister very much." Niklaus hummed as his eyes roamed around the room.
The intricate mix of gold and regal blue with a dash of blood-red here and there seemed to blend well with the otherwise dark curtains.
He immediately knew this was her way to keep a balance between the light and the darkness of her own soul.
At least from what he had perceived, that is what she believed; that she had a darkness inside of her that was even worse than what his family was.
But from where he stood, all he saw was light. An angel sent to rescue his family in times of need.
He might never tell her that, but he was utterly grateful to have come to Ravenia.
"Is it that obvious?" Aurelia said in sarcasm making him chuckle.
"Your snark is refreshing to listen to in an otherwise boring court." He smirked.
"Did you just call my nobles dull?" Aurelia said biting her lip to refrain from smiling. He did hear the jolly tone of her voice, though.
"I would say that your company is far more preferable; especially now that you have stopped giving me headaches with your magic." He shrugged.
"You finally learned how to feed without killing someone; I did not feel the need to blast your mind anymore." She retorted.
"All thanks to you, Reina." He gave her a cheeky smile which highlighted the dimple on his cheek.
The sight made her realize how good looking the man in front of her really was. If only he would stop believing that he was a monster.
From what she had heard from his siblings and especially Elijah, with whom she had grown rather close, she knew that Niklaus believed himself to be the cause for their sufferings.
She knew he believed himself to be a monster responsible for the lives his siblings were forced to live.
And no matter how much he pretended he could not hide this from her that every life he took, killed him too.
She wanted to tell him that he was not the darkness tainting his family. From what she saw, she only saw a protector; willing to do anything to save those he loved.
"Why do you persist on calling me Reina? All your siblings call me by my name. I believe we have all grown that familiar." She asked after a beat as she looked at him inquisitively.
He smiled, "Because you are a queen. And you should be addressed as one. You have a beautiful name, but, Reina suits you better."
Her eyes widened with slight surprise at the way his words had just caused her heart to skip a beat.
She couldn't understand why he would have that effect on her but in order to not make things awkward, she let him see the rare sight of a genuine grin on her face.
And now it was his heart racing in his chest. He was confused because he was once again feeling a warmth in his chest at the fact that he was the reason for her smile.
He especially could not comprehend why he wanted to make her smile that way again.
"I have to check on my siblings, now. Have a good day." He smiled before walking over to the door.
"Niklaus." She called out making him turn back, "I am myself an artist of sorts, so, if you ever need supplies for your creations, ask Rozzaro to lead you to my archives." She offered with a small smile.
He nodded gratefully, unable to stop his own grin from coming on his lips before he glanced at Adonis who was sleeping once again, and then he walked away.
She sagged, resting her back against the crib as she looked down smiling.
Her heart was fluttering like a young maiden and she had no idea what to make of it.

Reina...
Aurelia rolled her eyes with a smirk as she sipped on her coffee cup heavily spiked with Bourbon as she roamed around the school carnival searching for Adonis.
She rolled her eyes when she caught sight of Katherine lurking in the shadows as the Petrova waved at her.
Shaking her head, she watched the teenagers she would soon have to teach, almost groaning at the idea considering how much she hated being around overconfident children.
"You're a new face here." She heard someone say from behind her as she turned around to find a tall man with forest green eyes and a polite smile.
"Yes, I'm the new teacher here, I stepped in to chaperone." She smiled back at him.
"It's good to meet you!" He said softly, "I'm Alaric Saltzman. The history teacher." He introduced.
She shook her hand with a smile, "So, how are these delinquents?" She asked gesturing to the teenagers around them with a frown.
Alaric chuckled, "Some are harder to manage than others." He answered making her groan as he laughed.
That was when she caught sight of Adonis and gave Alaric a sheepish smile, "It was nice meeting you, Alaric, see you on Monday?"
He nodded, "Of course! Enjoy the evening." He said nodding.
She then made her way to Adonis as she gained his attention by turning him around to face her.
"Where the hell have you been since last night?" She snapped angrily.
He removed her hands from his arms and held them gently, "Relax, I was with Katherine. We were turning this girl, Caroline into a vampire."
She immediately calmed down but furrowed her brows, "Why?"
"Katherine wants to use her for Nik's ritual. I suggested that we can turn someone else, but she wants to have her fun with Elena." He explained.
"Did Caroline complete her transition?" She asked.
Adonis pursed his lips, "That, and, she also performed her first kill a little while ago."
Aurelia's eyes widened at that. She shook her head and sighed, "Leave it to us Mikaelsons to be the cause of innocent deaths." She mumbled.
Adonis wrapped his arm around her shoulder, "Relax, don't beat yourself up! I'm pretty sure we'll end up using another vampire, considering Nik always has a backup."
She scoffed, "Yes, and leave it to him to always be paranoid."
He shook his head, "You worry too much, ma."
"I am a Mikaelson and perhaps the only responsible one. I have to worry."
He laughed and just as they were on their way home, Aurelia bumped into someone which caused her coffee to topple over as she almost snarled at the person in front of her.
Before she could get any words out of her mouth, berating the careless human, her eyes widened. As did Adonis'.
Because just in front of the Ravena witch, stood none other than the elusive Elena Gilbert.
