Nithya's family were very happy to accept Raghav as their son in law. Even before the proposal, Subash and Tharani had liked him. They had only one condition regarding this marriage.
Raghav, Sharadha, Yazhini's family, Nithya and Sindhu's family had gathered for discussing about the wedding.
"I'm so happy that Raghav and Nithya are getting married." Sindhu's mom exclaimed, while Sindhu rolled her eyes.
"Do you have any preferences about the marriage? Like traditional or destination wedding.." Subash asked Sharadha.
"No, it's upto our children's wish." Sharadha replied.
"Actually, we had been away from India all these years.. We did not meet many of our relatives even after returning as Nithya got busy with her job..." Tharani told and everyone nodded their heads.
"So... We thought that if we could conduct their marriage at our native place, it would be like a reunion.. only if you are okay with this" Tharani told in a soft tone.
Sharadha smiled on hearing her request.
"That's indeed a great idea. I'm completely okay with this, but we have to ask their consent too " Sharadha told looking at Raghav and Nithya.
They both looked at eachother, and Raghav smiled at Nithya showing his acceptance.
"So Raghav is okay with this. What about you Nithya?" Subhash asked his daughter.
"I'm also fine with this paa." Nithya smiled.
"Hey, just think twice before agreeing di.. because after reaching there, our relatives won't let you and Raghav meet eachother before the wedding day. That's why I said no for it when they asked me." Sindhu warned Nithya.
"Haan that's okay.. but a traditional wedding would be fun right!" Nithya grinned.
"If you want to experience and know the struggle then it's your wish!" Sindhu shrugged her shoulders on seeing Nithya's stubbornness.
"What was Sindhu tell you?" Raghav asked Nithya when they both were alone.
"She's saying that, if we opt for a traditional wedding in the village, relatives will be surrounding us all the time and never allow us to meet eachother before the wedding. So she asked me to think and decide." Nithya explained.
"Haha even Yazhini was telling something like that." Raghav replied.
"So what's your opinion on this?" Nithya asked him curiously.
"Is meeting secretly without anyone's knowledge is new for us?" He said winking at her making Nithya blush.
"Never let anyone know about this.. else our friends will tell this to everyone and make things tougher for us." Raghav told her.
"Okay Raghav, I won't!" Nithya agreed.
Soon the wedding preparations started in full swing. Nithya's native is a village near Kanchipuram and they had planned for a simple temple wedding there. Nithya's family went there early to check on the preparations, while Raghav and his family were planning to reach there a week before the wedding.
Raghav liked the idea of temple wedding, as he always wished for a simple wedding. The place where Raghav's family were staying was two streets away from Nithya's house in Kanchipuram.
They had lined up rituals for the whole week for Raghav and Nithya separately which made it very difficult for them to meetup.
Only two days was left for their wedding, Nithya was feeling jittery on thinking about the things going to happen next. Here Raghav was pacing his room, planning on how to meet Nithya. He quickly got an idea and called her.
"Hello Raghav?" Nithya attended his call on the first ring.
"Where are you Nithya?" Raghav asked her.
"Where else Raghav, I'm sitting in my room only." She replied.
"Is there anyone with you?"
"No.. I'm alone here. Why?"
"Then come to your terrace immediately. I'm waiting for you here."
"Are you kidding?" She asked him shocked.
"No nithya, please come fast."
"No Raghav, I can't come now.. just two more days.. " she told him in a pleading voice.
"Don't you want to see your wedding gift?" He asked in a husky voice.
"Wedding gift???"
"Yes.. my wedding gift for you."
"But..."
"Then I'll give this to someone else! Bye!" Raghav told and ended the call.
Nithya looked at her phone in shock.
She swiftly removed her anklets so that it would be easy for her to go the terrace without any hindrance.
She quickly ran to the terrace before getting caught by anyone.
Raghav was surprised to see her in a saree with jasmine flowers dancing on her shoulders. He has seen her mostly in modern outfits, and rarely in sarees. But now, when he saw her it already felt like she was his wife.
Nithya walked towards him and sat beside him. She waved her hand in front of his face to bring back his attention.
"Mr. Techie! Where have you lost?" Nithya asked him.
"I'm busy in admiring my future wife, Ms medico" he replied.
"Aahan! Now give me my gift!!"
"Have some patience ma!"
"I should go down before anyone comes to my room and search for me! So give it fast." She urged him.
Sighing loudly, Raghav took out something. Nithya was curiously looking at him go know what it was.
He handed her the same diary which she had gifted him for his birthday.
"This?" Nithya asked him in confusion.
"Yes. Open it !" He told her and she obeyed his words.
Nithya opened the diary and found that Raghav had written something. She moved her fingers over his words and smiled.
To my girl, Nithya !
You entered into my life as a reader of my story , but I had no idea that you would be the reader of my heart too.
From the day we both had started talking, I found you special from other readers I got. Everytime you messaged me, I felt like you message me from your heart.
Then, you became my friend..
A trust worthy friend, with whom I can share everything without any worry of being judged.
When amma was sick, you gave me the moral support which I was yearning for. You gave me the courage to come over this. Your words gave new energy to me.
When you told me that you are coming to Chennai, I badly wanted to meet you and thank you for what you did for me. But I was not sure about what you're thinking about me. So I didn't tell you about it.
But, to my surprise, you came home with Sindhu that day and told that you are my neighbor.
My heart did a happy dance, and I didn't know why I felt happy then..
But as time progressed, I identified that I'm falling in love with you.
The way you behaved with me, was very new and special to me.
You never treated me like a stranger or a reader or even as a friend. You always treated me like we had known eachother for years together.
Then Sindhu's wedding happened and we both got even more close. I felt that you were also feeling the same towards me.
You made me feel comfortable and consoled me when I opened up my past to you. Whenever I faced a tough situation in my life, you were there to support and guide me through.
From the way you talk to me, I understood that I need not make a direct proposal for confessing my love to you, as you were also well aware of it.
That's why I asked you whether you'd marry me straight forwardly.
I don't know whether you would remember this. One day, you had asked me to write a love story. Now I'll tell you the answer for it.
My one and only love story belongs to you and I don't want anyone else to read it.
~Your Techie.
Nithya was in tears when she read this. She hugged him tight and Raghav caressed her hair to make her calm.
"This... I don't know what to say Raghav!"
"You need not say anything Nithya!"
"The best thing happened in my life is you and your love for me! Thank you so much."
"But I'm angry with you now." Raghav pouted.
"Why?"
"If you are reading something, won't you read it's title?"
"What?" Nithya curiously opened the first page and her face broke into a million dollar smile.
It was written as
Ninaivellam Nithya
She kissed his cheeks in happiness and ran down leaving Raghav in shock.
"Oh my god! This is the most romantic love story I've ever heard!" She told Nithya.
"Yes.. our is the best love story ever." Nithya smiled with pride.
"And you complained that he was unromantic right?"
"What to do Mithra, I love to pull his legs.. but I never expected that he would come up with something like this."
"You should have had some kind of trust on appa, maa." Told their fifteen year old daughter Mithra.
Raghav came to their room and found the mom and daughter arguing over something.
"What are you both discussing about?" Raghav asked them.
Nithya signalled Mithra, not to tell but being a daddy's girl Mithra revealed the truth.
"I know you are the best dad in the world, but now only I came to know that you're the best husband too!" Mithra told making Raghav's eyes wide.
"Mithra, go and complete your assignments. Tomorrow we're going out right!" Nithya instructed her daughter.
"Okay okay I'm going!" She told and left the room.
Raghav's eyes fell on the diary and understood what would have happened.
"Don't tell me that she read this!"
"She was feeling bored today, and we decided to look at our wedding album. As she saw everyone gifting us, she asked me what gift you gave to me. That's how she read it." Nithya explained the situation to Raghav.
He shook his head went for a shower. Nithya kept a set of dress ready for him and started cleaning her dressing table. Raghav came back after shower and hugged Nithya from behind.
"Hello mister! Your daughter is studying in the next room." Nithya told as she struggled in his grip.
"She knows to give privacy to her parents." He replied as he tightened his hold on her
"Tomorrow, we have planned for a girls day out."
"What? Who planned this?"
"Your best friend Sindhu!" She giggled.
"Tomorrow is the last Sunday of this month Nithya. Did you forget?"
"I know.. but I couldn't say no to her."
"Then leave it to me. I'll ask her to postpone the plan."
"Raghav.. just one day na..."
"It's not just another day Nithya. It's our day. It's you who made the routine of staying home on the last Sunday of the month and spend time with eachother. How can you yourself break it?" Raghav asked her as he turned her face towards him.
"Okay okay.. I'll talk to Sindhu and change the plan." Nithya assured him.
"That's Good!"
"I'll go and cook dinner, and you go and spend time with Mithra!" Nithya told Raghav and walked into the kitchen.
How much life has changed in the past sixteen years. The girl who was finding a chance to escape from the kitchen, is now volunteering to cook. The girl who had thought that her father is the best, now thinks that her husband is the world's best father. Love changes everything.
