Changbin had given Hyunjin his sister's therapist business card and told him that the therapist did a good job in guiding his sister into a better person.
Hyunjin took his friend's advice and went there hoping that this therapist could help him with his condition as well.
He entered the room and found it cozy with all the couches, coffee tables, the mugs, and the books that are everywhere.
As he looked towards the room he saw the therapist with her grey sweatshirt and black pants along with the brown boots—Hyunjin actually likes how she kept the colors of her outfit organized, she was already fixed on an armchair drinking from one of her cups.
"Good afternoon Hyunjin, how are you?"
She asked just after the designer took a seat on the couch in front of her and started looking around liking the place decoration.
Hyunjin:“not good if I would be honest”
He said while his focus was on a traditional golden balance on top of the coffee table in front of him, he pulled one of the two plates down With his finger which caused the other plate to go up and his eyes shined more seeing a traditional balance for the first time in his life.
"Okay...why did you take therapy?"
Hyunjin's smile faded out as she asked that question and looked at her with worried eyes.
Hyunjin:“I almost killed myself”
Changbin told him that he has nothing to be scared of when he's in therapy, it is a safe place where he can confess and let out his problems because that is how the therapist is gonna help him.
Her eyes got wide as she heard Hyunjin had the gut to confess about that when she was only getting to know him, his problem may be bigger than Jeongin's.
"Ohh...uhm...not the answer I was looking for but it's all right..."
She shrugged that off not wanting to make Hyunjin uncomfortable with talking about that right away which the designer found odd so he asked.
Hyunjin:“you're not gonna ask me why?”
The therapist shook her head at his question.
"No...not today's session, I want to get to know you first, tell me more about yourself,Hyunjin..."
Why are all the questions she asking are difficult for Hyunjin to answer despite them being simple.
Hyunjin:“I don't know myself either, miss”
The therapist didn't give up and thought of another question she could ask him so she had the ability to look through him.
"How about the things you enjoy? Like a hobby or a job?"
The first thing that came to Hyunjin mind once she asked him another question was Felix and his delicious Strawberry Nutella crepes that he tasted not too long ago.
Hyunjin:“as far as I know, I think enjoying my boyfriend's homemade sweet dishes is my most favorite thing these days”
She smiled apon his answer satisfied that she finally pushed him to say something positive unlike his previous answers.
"Here we go!!! tell me about your boyfriend? Do you love him?"
Up until now and she isn't able to read Hyunjin too easily like she did with jeongin.
So she decided to stick with the same topic and keep asking him until she could reach the source.
Hyunjin:“he's an amazing person and I don't deserve him even if I love him”
Another negative answer, it seems like Hyunjin doesn't have a self complex, he doesn't see himself as a boyfriend.
"Why do you think that?"
Hyunjin:“I have no reason, I'm just a useless nobody and I can't lie to him and make him live in this fake world of us being lovers”
Okay...this is getting serious and Hyunjin seems to be looking down at himself so much, he's not sure who he is anymore.
And that's a problem.
"Okay...how about friends? Do you have someone you cherish?"
Hyunjin looked up with shiny eyes and smiled remembering his friend Changbin.
The therapist smiled apon seeing this reaction from him, she thought she did a good job this time in asking this question.
Hyunjin:“I have Changbin”
He seems excited as he spelled the name of that one friend that brought him out from his negative thoughts.
She took this opportunity of him being happy to ask him about his friend.
"Ooh and who's that?"
Hyunjin sat up very happy that he got to talk about someone who isn't a part of his lying play or someone he made an effort to please or satisfy, Changbin was that person Hyunjin would go to whenever he had a bad day.
Hyunjin(sad):“he's a close friend, always been there for me when I needed comfort and he was the one who saved me from dying”
Even though he was thankful, he couldn't but be insecure about their friendship.
The therapist saw how Hyunjin expression turned from happy to sad in a matter of seconds.
"Then why are you sad?"
Hyunjin shook his head not wanting to answer that but he kept forgetting that he is in a safe space and it was okay to spill out.
Changbin words keep rewinding in his head.
Hyunjin:“all I do is put pressure on him...i still don't get why he chose to be with someone like me”
Up until now since Hyunjin met Changbin and he still doesn't get why Changbin is such a special friend to him, he's confused about why fate put him in his life.
"Maybe he saw something special in you that no one else did"
She tried raising Hyunjin's confidence in himself so he could give more positive answers but he just shrugged it off.
Hyunjin:“I doubt that”
The therapist didn't want to make Hyunjin feel uncomfortable so she goes to her next question.
"How about your parents? Do you often have arguments with them?"
Hyunjin wasn't that much of a familiar with that question since his parents aren't often home and both travel a lot.
Hyunjin:“hmm...i don't know about my dad but my mom gets angry when I don't attend college”
Whenever his mom comes to visit her son at his apartment she gets happy when her son is doing okay in fashion design, but one thing she despises is when her son starts saying that he wants to quit going to college.
"Is she strict when it is related to your future?"
Strict isn't the word Hyunjin been looking for because his parents are rich so he has the freedom to go wherever he wants or buy whatever he wants or be with anyone he wants since his parents are against choosing a partner for their son saying he could be with whoever he wants.
Hyunjin:“I don't know, she failed her dream to be a fashion designer so she raised me on doing the thing she likes...what do you think?”
He asked her, not getting how his mom is doing something bad to him by telling him to be a fashion designer since he's talented with his hands in art and got a sense of fashion since his mother is the owner of a clothing company.
"I think she is forcing her dream on you, but does it make you hate fashion design?"
Hyunjin not knowing what he likes or dislikes which only led him not knowing what to answer her.
Hyunjin:“i never thought of it from my point of view before”
A ringing sound was heard after he said that which made him flinch and look at the direction of the sound and find it was just a clock, he held it in his arm and chuckled that such thing made him get scared.
"Our time is up, I'll see you next week, Hyunjin"
She said taking the ringing clock from his hands and turning it off, the designer then stood up and nodded his head.
Hyunjin:“sure...i had fun talking to you, I don't know why...”
He expresses with a warm smile making the therapist smile with him as well.
"Glad to hear that"
