The boodle clapped after the BTS performance ended on new year's eve. Namjoon went ahead to hold the fort with interviews. Everyone was zesty except Jimin. He was rather disoriented, anxiously wanting to finish up and leave.
Wearing a smile and locking it in place in front of cameras required hoards of patience. When everyone kissed their partners at midnight, he could only feel guilty and remorseful. Sure, success brought money but it also took away so many invisible things.
After satisfying the audience with not only dancing and singing but also by showing charms and a little bit of fan service with his best friend and maknae of the group, Jimin was finally done to leave the stadium.
As cameras stopped rolling and lights turned off, Jimin took off the fake smile followed by his earrings that were far too heavy and just hurting his earlobes. He greeted his bandmates quickly once again and rushed to changing room.
"Good job, Jimin. You always give your best on stage." A senior make-up artist, who has been personally catering to him stated, and the man only smiled gratefully at her.
"Thanks, Noona. Please take off the accessories quickly. I want to leave early," he sat on the high chair and the stylist instantly obeyed.
Without changing clothes, Jimin took his bag that was handed to him by staff and he walked out through the backdoor. "Jimin, this one," a manager immediately called and escorted him into a black and tinted window Mercedez. Jimin got inside and bowed at the manager. "Happy new year, Jimin." The man greeted.
"Happy new year to you too. Don't stay up too late," Jimin replied with kindness, being the official angel of BTS as he was.
The driver started the car and Jimin looked at girls as far as his eye can see, all standing with their mobile devices up, in the hope to capture one single moment from his life. Nothing attracted him by this point. He had become used to it all, the attraction faded away with time.
He only continued this job because he was good at dancing and singing. The idols who debuted lately have been following Jimin's every move, reading them, studying them like a bible. It only gave Jimin the satisfaction at the end of the day that he was inspiring people to achieve their dreams.
He closed his eyes and leaned against the leather seat. The car was now running on the highway and the clamor was left behind.
Meanwhile, Jungkook was watching the live concert on the TV. The show was telecasting across the world. Jungkook was now too precious to the idol.
Jimin met Jungkook five years ago on one street in Seoul. He was walking tiredly in a dark street. He looked like he could use some water. With sweat dribbling down his face and getting absorbed into his shirt, he kept walking with earphones plugged in and few pamphlets in his hands.
Jimin looked at the boy from inside his car as he stopped and pasted the papers on notice boards across the walls. Jimin's driver had gone outside to pick up something for him.
As the driver returned, Jimin asked him to follow the boy. The driver obeyed the instructions and Jungkook did not notice a black car following him at a really slow speed. Just as the car overtook the boy and stopped, Jimin opened the car door and got out.
Jungkook yelped majorly and flinched back, almost stumbled but Jimin held his hand to stop him from falling. "I am sorry, I did not intend to scare you," he apologized and Jungkook's eyes widened.
"Are you Park Jimin?" He forgot his throbbing heart that was almost under the attack a few moments ago.
"So, you know me," Jimin chuckled. "It's good actually. Now I can ask you what is on there?" He pointed at the pink pamphlet.
"Oh, this..." Jungkook quickly folded his hands behind his back. "I am looking for work... And a place to live. I mean a place that can offer me work and a stay at the night." He mumbled.
"Only at night? It is peculiar. What about the day?" Jimin asked.
"I have work during the day so I don't need a place at that time. I am looking for a job at night where I can work and then sleep for a few hours."
"Where do you sleep now?" Asked Jimin curiously. His eyebrows knitting together in concern.
"I... could not arrange a place yet. It's m-my first week in Seoul." The boy stuttered.
Jimin decided for only a second and held his hand to lead him to the car. "What is your name?" He asked while getting inside.
"I am Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook."
The driver closed the door and Jungkook turned to look at the sound. What was happening? Was he getting kidnapped by an idol he admired?
"Jeon Jungkook. You have satoori dialect. Are you from Busan?"
The car started moving and Jungkook's wide eyes looked around, observing Jimin's calm tone as if he picked up boys like this for a part-time job, and then gawking at the road.
"Uh- yes."
"Jeon Jungkook from Busan, will you work for me starting now?" Jimin asked the boy with a smile and the younger stopped processing.
"You should blink, Jungkook. Blinking hydrates your eyes." Jimin quipped and Jungkook gulped visibly while biting his lips.
"Here, have some water." Jungkook graciously took a cool bottle before gulping it down in one go as if he was really thirsty from the heat.
Jimin closed his eyes as usual and leaned back on the leather seat. After few minutes Jungkook broke the ear tearing silence. "What kind of job is this?"
"We will see," Jimin replied softly.
It was that day when Jimin brought Jungkook home. He took care of his basic needs starting from food, clothes, and online school ever since. The boy lived twenty-four under his roof.
His life improved to an extent he never imagined. Jimin would hardly be present at home so he arranged all sorts of entertainment for Jungkook. With a wide range of indoor table tennis, VR games to the karaoke machines, the boy had it all. He only had one small issue, he was not supposed to get out of the house and he could never be seen by the media.
If anyone even got the hint that a boy was living with Jimin who was neither a relative nor a friend, the country would go berserk. Park Jimin held such power.
One year hurled by like that. Jungkook started to develop a little crush on the idol but he knew he was nothing more than a common boy who owed his everything to Park Jimin, even the air he breathed. He dared to overlook his feelings.
The small amount of conversation they had sometimes at night also stopped. Jungkook started avoiding Jimin entirely. He would lock himself in the room and only come out when he would assure himself that Jimin would be asleep in his own room.
On the other hand, Jimin was suffering. He liked the boy the moment he laid eyes on him. His sexual orientation was hidden, far deep down in earth's crust more like. Even Jimin forgot how he felt about it, but living with Jungkook resurfaced all those emotions.
Another year passed, Jimin did not plan to ask Jungkook to like him in return. He did not want the young boy to feel that he was obliged to return the feeling just because Jimin basically paid for his everything, until one night.
Jungkook walked out of his room to get cold water from the fridge and he did not realize that Jimin was sitting in the living room in the dark.
The boy opened the fridge and took out a bottle. He kept his gaze on his mobile and walked to sit on the opposite sofa. Jimin traced the boy's every move, looked at his twinkling eyes with the help of little light flashing on his face from his mobile phone.
Jungkook played Jimin's solo music video, serendipity, and just looked at the screen for the entire length of the song while Jimin kept looking at him. The video was released last week on Jungkook's birthday.
Albeit Jimin gave Jungkook a new set of wardrobes, skates, and a limited-edition music box, the boy thought that this music video was his gift. He liked to think that way. Little did he know that it really was.
The video stopped playing and the boy sighed happily. "Thank you for the gift, Hyung. This is my birthday gift, right? It has to be. Otherwise, why would you release it on my birthday?" Jungkook chuckled and then suddenly kissed the screen.
In the next moment, he flinched and threw his phone anywhere when he heard Jimin's voice. "It is your birthday gift."
"Ji-Jimin Hyung?" The boy stood up and without the help of the light of his phone, he collided with the couch and fell on the carpet.
Jimin quickly turned on the lamp kept on the dresser by the couch and leaned to pick Jungkook. Today, he saw what he wanted for so long. He cupped Jungkook's face and the boy's breath hitched. "Are you... Do you like me, Jungkook? He asked.
The next moment was a blur for both of them when Jungkook confessed to his innocent feeling with teary eyes. That night, Jimin made love to the boy. The house heard Jungkook's small short breaths and his little moans, both from pain and pleasure as Jimin abused his little hole.
They kept going like this, secretly, for three years. Jungkook's feelings grew stronger. He started to expect things from his partner, which was not wrong.
Jimin, being one of the richest men in the country, could not completely fulfill his lover's desires. The innocent Jungkook needed time, he needed Jimin's presence on special occasions like today but all he got was a sorry from Jimin and a square screen to look at Jimin through it.
He badly wanted to be able to kiss the man on his birthdays or on new Year but Park Jimin was not only his lover, but he was also an idol to the entire world and his duty came first at times.
Jungkook understood but sometimes he could not help and feel that Jimin would never accept him in front of the world. Today, he felt something that he had not felt in years. Jealous.
Jimin was often considerate of the fact to not show skinship on the screen but today, it was a special occasion and he had to do it. The boy saw the smiling Jimin, flirting with Taehyung and he broke into tears.
He often felt insecure about many things. Why did Jimin like him when he could literally have any man or woman in the world? Why Jungkook when he had nothing to offer to Jimin in return?
Jimin reached the house and Jungkook heard him opening the door. He got up and began to run to his room. Jimin caught him in time.
"Baby," Jimin's face contorted into fear looking at his Jungkook like that. "What's wrong? Are you hurt?"
Jungkook looked at Jimin with hurtful eyes. "I am... You could not be with me but you flirted with them. You enjoy it and you lie to me." The innocent and naive boy broke down into Jimin's arms, causing the idol to tear up himself.
"I know why do you feel like that and I have been so unlucky that I could not do anything to not make you feel that way. I promise you that I love you, baby. I am sorry I could not spend new year's eve with you... Again."
Jungkook's tears washed his anger away and he looked up at crying Jimin. He immediately wiped the older's tears. "No Hyung. I am sorry. I just... I don't know why I feel like this sometimes. I am sorry to make you worried."
Jimin shook his head and threw his bag on the floor. He picked up Jungkook next and walked into the room with him.
"Don't say sorry to me. I love you, as long as you can trust that, trust me, we will get through this and I promise I will spend this year's every eve with you." Jimin promised the boy before putting him on the bed, all set to make love to him sweetly.

Fluff and emotional.
