omnivore
Since meeting Audrey a couple weeks ago, Jack, wanted to see her all the time, which is a good thing as it means that he likes her. Not that she minded it. Audrey is about roughly three weeks pregnant, as she hadn't told anyone, let alone Aaron. She probably wouldn't hear the end of it, if the team found out, and also given the fact that Aaron is technically her boss, as she surely doesn't want Erin Strauss finding out. That would be a nightmare, she'd most likely have to resign.
BAU Jet
"The Reaper is driven by a need do dominate, control and manipulate." Aaron says as he is sitting next to Audrey, as Derek and Maya are sitting across from the two.
"So, then why would he offer a deal that would he offer a deal that would stop him from doing that?" Emily asked.
"Well, killing gave him power. But after so many, the payoff began to diminish. So, he decided to switch tactics. Offering, the better deal gave him the ultimate power. Better even than killing. He manipulated the police into voluntarily surrendering."
"Even got it in writing." Spencer says.
"He won. Why start killing again?" JJ asked.
"Well, because the only person knew he'd won, the person made him the deal with, just died." Derek says.
"Narcissistic killers need other people to recognize their power. That's why they contact the media." Rossi says.
"So, how did he stop for ten years?" Maya asked.
"In 'Night of the Reaper', the author suggests crime of died. Perhaps he's trying to correct that misconception." Spencer says.
"What has he been doing all this time?" Audrey asked.
"Planning what he would do if he started killing again." Aaron says.
"So, from '95 to '98, she shoots, tabs and bludgeons 21 vics. Men, women, all ages. No specific victimology or MO. How did you build a profile from that?" Maya asked.
"We didn't. Shaunessy sent us home before we had a chance. BTK, the Zodiac and the Reaper all have similarities. They're all highly intelligent, disciplined, sadistic killers who named themselves in the press." Aaron says.
"Highly intelligent may be a bit of an understatement." Spencer says as Maya nods her head.
"Yeah. The Reaper and the Zodiac Killer have never been arrested, and the BTK Killer was only caught after 25 years because he went to the press to counter a book that said he'd died, moved away, or had been locked up." Maya says.
"Speaking of the media. When this gets out, it's going to be frenzy. If they get wind of this, they're going to be all over the Boston Police." JJ says.
"The longer we can float the copycat story, the better chance we'll have of catching him. Rossi, Derek, Maya, and JJ. go through everything there. Reid, Audrey, and I will go to the crime scene." Aaron instructs giving everyone their jobs.
Boston Field Office
Aaron and the others were on their way back from the crime scene. When they came back, the team all sat down.
"George Foyet, 28, was the ninth victim and the only one to survive the Reaper." Aaron says.
"Not for lack of trying." Rossi comments.
"Amanda Bertrand, 19, his date for the evening, was not as lucky. He likes to attack them inside or near their cars at night or poorly lit, less populated roads." Aaron says.
"Foyet says he approached them pretending to be a lost tourist. In the hospital, we put Foyet with a sketch artist." O'Mara says.
"The Reaper always uses some sort of ruse to get close to and spend time with his victims." Aaron says.
"The eye as he depicts it appear to be the Eye of Providence, a symbol adopted by the US Government and incorporated into the Great Seal in 1782 with the words 'annuit coeptis' inscribed beneath." Spencer explains.
"That's Latin for 'providence for fate has favored our undertakings'." Maya says. "The Reaper seems to see himself as the personification of fate."
"So, how did Foyet survive?" Emily asked.
Aaron plays a recording of a 911 call from the night Foyet was attacked.
"What's your emergency?"
"I just murdered two more."
"Excuse me, sir. Did you say you murdered someone?"
"Victims eight and nine. By a silver Toyota on Riverton, past the Tyson Quarry."
Then the recording ends.
"That call was made from a pay phone about a mile from the crime scene. EMT's arrived fifteen minutes later. Bertrant was DOA. Foyet barely breathing." Spencer says.
"So, the Reaper made one of these calls after each of his killings, telling the police where to find the bodies?" Emily asked.
"Until this one, the ninth. If he hadn't made this call, Foyet wouldn't have been found in time. They call saved him." Audrey says.
"So, the Reaper didn't make any 911 calls after this one?" Maya asked.
"Looks like he learned." Derek says.
"There's a reason he left Foyet's glasses at the last crime scene. Foyet could be in danger." Aaron says.
"We'll find him." Emily says.

There was another murder tonight of an older couple. After Audrey and Aron get back from the crime scene. Hotch revealed to the team that he had developed a profile over the years.
"The Reaper fits a profile we refer to as an omnivore. Unlike most serial killers, an omnivore doesn't target a specific victim type. Although, he tends to focus on his younger female victims with his knife, he essentially is a predator who will kill anyone." Aaron explains.
"Why is he so democratic?" O'Mara asked.
"Because his kills aren't just about his victims. He needs recognition. He needs us to know." Audrey says.
"The symbols, the placement of prior victims' possessions on subsequent victims, is all for us." Rossi says.
"Why?" O'Mara asked.
"Power. The Shaunessy letter is the clearest example of this. He manipulated Tom Shaunessy into literally surrendering to him." Aaron says.
"The burden was too much to bear. In a very real sense, Tom Shaunessy was the Reaper's 22nd victim." Rossi says.
"Like BTK Killer Dennis Rader, the Reaper is extremely disciplined. In his everyday life, this will very likely make him so inflexible, he can't keep close relationships or work closely with others." Aaron says.
"I believe our killer has another interest that may give us the best opportunity to catch him. The Reaper's las victim was an older woman. he killed her quickly with a single shot. The prior, younger victim, he spent more time with and stabbed 46 times." Rossi says as Maya and Audrey wince at hearing that.
"Why?" O'Mara asked.
"He pays special attention to his younger, female victims. And this weapon of choice with them is the knife, a substitute instrument for bodily penetration." Aaron says.
"And the younger the victims, the more time and effort he spends. I think our guy is a hebephile?" Audrey says.
"Hebephile?" O'Mara asked.
"Somone who's attracted to adolescent, post-pubescent children, teenagers." Maya says,
"Look for men with access and authority. High school tears, counselors, coaches, and anyone who's been charged with sex crimes against teenage girls in the last ten years. That's all for now, thank you." Aaron says as he walks out of the room with Audrey.

The next day Audrey goes with Hotch and Rossi to talk to Foyet. Audrey has a pit growing in her stomach, as something doesn't seem right. Audrey seemed to be lost in thought as she was staring out the window. As Aaron was driving, he noticed how quiet the woman being.
"You, okay?" He asked her, which made her turn to him.
"Yeah." She lies even though she probably shouldn't had done that. Aaron turned to her giving her a look before he looked back at the road.
"Audrey." He says, sounding like a dad, as Audrey rolled her eyes.
"You know that feeling when you know something is going to happen, but you don't know what it is?" Audrey asked as the two men nod their heads.
"It's called your subconscious." Dave says as Audrey gives him a look.
"Are you sure?" Aaron asked the woman as she nods her head.
"Yeah." Audrey says as Aaron knew that there was something else that was bothering her, but he isn't going to go all profiler on her and ask her a question. Then again, this isn't the time, for that.
"How did Colson find this guy?" Rossi asked getting back on topic.
"He interviewed Foyet extensively for his book. They kept in touch." Aaron says.
"So, they're friends?" Audrey asked.
"Sort of. But Foyet wouldn't give him his phone number. He gave him one of his aliases, though." Aaron says as just then Audrey sees Foyet walking down the street.
"That's him." Audrey says.
"Yeah." Aaron says as they get out of the car and approach him.
"George Foyet? It's okay, we're FBI agents. These are Agents Rossi, Audrey, and I'm Agent Hotchner. We met once before. Do you remember?" Aaron says as Audrey stands beside him as Dave is on the other side.
"Yeah, I remember. Would you mind if we get off the street, please?" Foyet asked.
"Yeah sure."
They follow Foyet into his house. "How'd you guys find me?" He asked.
"Roy Colson." Audrey says.
"Oh. Well, is this going to take long? Because I really can't be late for work."
"What do you do?" Hotch asked.
"I'm a freelance computer specialist for the city." He says.
"We're sorry to bother you. We'll make it as quick as possible." Rossi says.
"Are these yours?" Aaron asked, as he hands Foyet the glasses found at the first crime scene.
"I knew it wasn't a copycat." He says as he starts coughing profusely.
"I'm sorry. I was going to propose to her that night. At the restaurant, but I got cold feet. The ring was still in my pocket when he approached us. He said he was lost. He had one of those sightseeing booklets. I was looking at it, when he stabbed me." Foyet says.
"Mr. Foyet, you don't need to go through this again." Rossi says.
"I couldn't move. I just sat there, bleeding. I watching him kill Mandy. He stabbed her 67 times. Do you know how long it takes to stab someone 67 times?" He says as Audrey's pit in her stomach continues to grow, as Hotch noticed but he adverted his eyes back to Foyet.
"I never found the ring." He says
"He would have left your glasses on his next victim. But didn't. He held onto them all this time." Aaron says as Foyet lets out a small laugh.
"What, you think he's got some special interest in me? I've been living with that possibility for the past 11 years." Foyet says.
"Have you received any strange letters or calls? Hang ups?" Rossi asked.
"I keep residences under different names. I move between them randomly. He likes to get you in a car, so I take the bus. Believe me, I've gone through great lengths to make sure that none of the things you mentioned ever happen."
"We'll need your other names and residences so we can reach you." Rossi says.
"We can take you someplace safe until this is over." Hotch suggests.
"No. Boston is my home. It's the one thing I promised I would never let him take from me." Foyet says.
"Then we'll protect you here." Aaron says.
"You can't protect me. Nobody can." Foyet says as Audrey shares a look with Aaron and Rossi. "Please be careful with this. Please."
"It's safe with us." Rossi says.
The three of them walk out of the room, as Audrey felt more uneasy, than ever. They get back in the car and we head back to the office. When they get there, Roy Colson was standing outside. He got a note from the Reaper as Rossi gets it to the lab.

It was late at night and the Reaper had attacked again, this time on a city bus. Written in blood were numbers. When Audrey and Aron got back from the scene, they go over the pictures. Maya scans through the picture a few times, until she realizes that the numbers were the addresses of Foyet's residences.
"That's odd." Maya says as Derek looked up at her.
"Which is Mama?" He asked.
"The numbers at the scene are the addresses of his residences." Maya says as she points out.
The team split up and they all go to one residence. Maya went with Hotch, Spencer and Audrey. When they get to the house, Maya kicks the door open then they search the house. Once they knew it was clear, Audrey tells Rossi and Emily. They got word that they had also cleared their residence. They got word that Derek had been attacked and Maya didn't hesitate to jump into the drivers seat and sped over to where Derek was. When they got there, paramedics were wheeling a body out. Maya bursts into the house and she sees Derek being patched up.
Maya hugs him and then pecked his cheek, as he had his arm around her. "You, okay?" Hotch asked.
"He took my credentials." Derek says.
"The important thing is you're okay." Maya says.
"He left me this." Derek says as he was holding a bullet in his hand.
"Power and manipulation. Don't let him get to you." Hotch says as he walks off.
"Yeah, right." Derek mutters. He winces when the paramedic takes some glass out of his arm. "Come on, man." He says.
"Sorry."
"My, he's telling me, 'i had you'." Derek says.
"You're alive."
"You know why?" He asked.
"It doesn't matter." Maya says.
"I'm sitting here, because I was knocked out. He couldn't torture me." Derek says.
"He likes to interact with his victims. To tell them he's going to kill them before he does." Maya says.
"Or, by letting them know he could have." Derek says.
"Hotch is right. He's just trying to get into your head." Maya says.
"Right or wrong, he had me." Derek says as he walks off.
later
They're back at the field office as Maya is sitting next to Derek as they go over the case. "Why is he so focused on Foyet? What's so special about him?" Aaron asked.
"He was his only surviving victim. The only one he couldn't defeat." JJ says.
"But, he's not a threat. Defeating him would be no great accomplishment. There's something tat we're missing." Aaron says as Audrey sits next to him.
"What about the girlfriend, Amanda Bertrand? What do we know about her?" JJ asked.
"19, a freshman. She came here from Michigan to go to school. Foyet was a teacher's assistant in one of Amanda's courses." Emily says.
"Michigan. Where the Reaper had Shaunessy post the personal ad." Hotch says.
"That can't be coincidence." JJ says.
"Hang on. He told us that she was the love of his life. That he was going to propose." Audrey says, speaking up for the first time in a while.
"But she just got here from Michigan, they only met when the class started." Derek says.
"How long had she been in the class?" Aaron asked.
"Four weeks." Audrey says.
"So, it was either love at first sight or what?" JJ asked.
"Not in this fairytale it isn't." Maya says as Audrey snickered to herself at the joke.
"Foyet was lying." Derek says.
"He's a 28-year-old teacher's assistant in freshman classes." Aaron says.
"That gives him plenty of access to young girls.
They get Garcia and they get her to check into Foyet's aliases. When Audrey is done thinking. "Holy shit, George Foyet is the Reaper."
"Garcia, I need you to locate Roy Colson's cell phone."
Once Penelope gave them the address, they all drive to the house. They all sneak inside, and they find Foyet holding Roy at gunpoint. Hotch managed to get Foyet to surrender, as Maya gets him restrained in custody.
BAU Office
Maya is sitting at her desk going over paperwork, before she and Derek head home to Tyler and Genesis for the night. The team got word that Foyet had escaped prison.
"Boston field office just identified documents from Foyet's house." Emily says.
"They're schematics for the electrical, heating and water ducts at East Woburn Correctional Facility." Spencer says.
"He had the schematics?" Aaron asked.
"And not just for Woburn, for every jail, prison and courthouse in Massachusetts." Spencer says.
"And ten years to plan." Rossi says.
"They're going to find him, right?" Penelope asked.
"No, they're not." Aaron says.
"He said he'd be more famous than we knew." Derek says.
"He was right." Audrey says as she looks up at the local news broadcast of Foyet's escape.
