After everyone had suited up and picked the weapons of their choice the group rushed back into the van and drive back to Hawkins, it was sunset when they arrived back at the Creel house. Max, Lucas, and Erica were the first to be dropped off before the rest made their way back to the Munson's trailer. As the group drew closer they parked the trailer and prepared to sneak back into the Munson home.

"Okay. I wanna run through it one more time, Phase one." Nancy says turning to face the rest of the group. "We meet Erica at the playground. She'll signal Max and Lucas when we're ready." Robin says.

"Phase two." Nancy points over to Steve. "Max baits Vecna. He'll go after her, which'll put him in his trance." Steve replies as Nancy's eyes move over to Dustin.

"Phase three?" She asked. "Me, Eddie, and (Y/n) draw the bats away," Dustin says, Eddie lifts his arm up and places it on Dustin's shoulder while (Y/n) looks at Eddie and then at Dustin.

"Four," Nancy says looking back at Robin. "We head into Vecna's hopefully newly bat-free lair, and... Flanbé," Robin says picking up the glass bottle which was filled with lighter fluid, the liquid sloshing around as she shook it.

"Nobody moves on to the next phase until we've all copied. Nobody deviates from the plan, no matter what. Got it?" Nancy says as everyone nods. "Got it." They all chimed in, grabbing their weapons they head for the exit and quickly run over to the trailer.

"Be careful," Dustin says as Steve put down his bag of supplies. "Thanks, buddy," Steve says grabbing onto the rope they had used before.

"Here goes nothing." He says pulling himself up and through the gate, flipping upside down, and then landing on his feet. "Woah, what does he want us to do, applaud?" Robin asked her voice filled with sarcasm as she looked at Nancy which made (Y/n) chuckle.

"You gotta admit Rob, that looked cool." (Y/n) says looking up at the ceiling not catching the fact that Robin was rolling her eyes with a smile. Steve quickly went back over to Eddie's room and took the mattress placing it under the gate like they had done before. "All right, let's go." He says Nancy gave her bag to Robin before climbing up into the Upside-Down, followed by their supplies, then Eddie, Robin, Dustin, and lastly (Y/n). Once everyone had landed safely the group went back outside.

"Hey, guys, listen. If things here start to go south, I mean, at all, you abort." Steve says turning around to face Dustin, Eddie, and (Y/n). "Okay? Draw the attention of the bats, keep 'em busy for a minute or two, and we'll take care of Vecna. Don't try to be cute or a hero or something. Okay? You guys are just-" Steve warns but Dustin cuts him off tired of his droning.

"Decoys. Don't worry, you can be the hero, Steve." Dustin reassured the other as Eddie nods. "Absolutely, I mean look at us, we are not heroes," Eddie says, after that the four stand in silence before Steve turns back around to leave.

"Hey, Steve? Make him pay." Eddie says making Steve turn around to face him, they stared at each other for a bit before giving a small nod and with that, the group split up. After the group had left Dustin, Eddie, and (Y/n) quickly began to collect materials to barricade the trailer drilling sheets of metal onto the windows only stepping back once they were done.

"Not bad," Eddie says adriming their work. "Not bad at all." Dustin agreed as they all smiled.

"Now for the fun part." (Y/n) says as they rushed back inside, Eddie took Dustin to his room while (Y/n) went into his, opening the door his eyes darted across the room taking in all the vines that stuck to the wall. Slowly he walked over to his guitar and with a small smile he picked it up holding it in his hand.

"Not sure what I had in mind when I thought about playing with Eddie, but it certainly wasn't this." He mutters to himself as he places the strap over his head "Hope you can see this, your boys finally playing together."

1967

"Happy birthday dear (Y/n)! Happy birthday to you!" Wayne and Jessica sang as they cared the cake to the kitchen table, Eddie was sitting in a high chair right next to (Y/n), his giggles fill the room as (Y/n) watched the adults place the cake on the table a grin on his face. "Alright bud, make a wish and blow out the candles," Wayne says grabbing the camera that rested on the table and pointing it toward the kids, (Y/n) closed his eyes and began to form a wish in his head, once he came up with one he opened his eyes and blew out the candles as the adults around him cheered. Jessica helped cut the cake giving everyone a slice, once they had finished eating Wayne stood up and walked over to the closet pulling out a huge box that had been wrapped in (F/c) wrapping paper.

"Alright, this is from me and Jessica, Happy birthday kid," Wayne says grinning at (Y/n) excitement as he shot up from his seat moving to the living room where Wayne placed the box down on the ground. (Y/n) went to open it tearing through the thin sheet of paper before opening the box, inside laid a (F/c) guitar. The boy's face lit up with excitement as he lifted the guitar out of the box holding it in his arms, he looked between Wayne and Jessica with a grin running up to hug them both. "Thank you, thank you!" He shouts as the room erupts with laughter from the two adults as they hugged him back. (Y/n) then pulled away, picked up the guitar, and walked back over to show Eddie.

"Look, Eddie! Mom and Wayne got me a guitar! When I learn how to play it I'll make sure to play for you every day, how about it?" (Y/n) asked receiving a few babbles from the baby, which he took as a yes, though when he turned around he noticed that Jessica was looking at him with a shocked expression making him tilt his head to the side. "What is it?" He asked looking over to Wayne for an answer.

"You, you called me mom," Jessica replied standing up from her seat, (Y/n)'s smile dropped as he became even more confused. "Was, I not supposed to?" (Y/n) questioned now afraid that he had somehow messed up, but all those doubts were pushed away when Jessica brought him into a hug.

"No, you can call me whatever you like, I was just surprised is all." She explains once she pulls away from the hug and smiles on both of their faces, as Wayne held Eddie smiling at the scene. "Then I wanna call you mom!" (Y/n) shouts.

Present

"(Y/n) are you ready?" Eddie asked peeking into his room catching the other's attention. "Huh? Oh yeah, let's do this." He says following them up to the roof of the trailer.

"Wait, what song are we doing?" Eddie asked looking over at (Y/n) who smiled at him. "You're acting as if there is a choice, you've been practicing with it since it came out." (Y/n) says knowing that Eddie would already know the song he was talking about.

"You know the chords?" Eddie asked looking at his brother with a smile slightly surprised. "Surprise, I was going to tell you earlier but then we became wanted criminals, either way, are we gonna rock this shit or not?" (Y/n) asked as Eddie nods.

"She's in. Move on to phase three." It was Robin's voice that could be heard over the walkie. "Copy that. Initiating phase three." Dustin says quickly reaching for the cables and plugging them in.

"Let's hope they hear this." He says as the amps come to life, quickly he turns the volume on both of them up, looking over at the brothers as Eddie rips off his necklace and (Y/n) pulls off his bracelet retrieving their picks from it. "Chrissy, this is for you," Eddie says before the two start to strum in sync, the sudden loud noise attracted the bats.

"Eddie, (Y/n)! We gotta lock down in T-minus 30 seconds!" Dustin yelled after a while looking through the binoculars and seeing that the bats were drawing near. Eddie nods his head looking over at (Y/n) who nods smiling at him. "T-minus 20!" Dustin yells again holding out two fingers with one hand and making a zero with the other.

"T-minus 10!" By now (Y/n) had stopped playing letting Eddie have his solo with a smile on his face as he watched Eddie play. "One!" Dustin yells as Eddie hit the last cord.

"Move! Move! Move!" Eddie yelled as they climbed down from the roof. "Let's go! Eddie, (Y/n), come on!" Dustin called out as he opened the door.

"Right behind you bud! Get in, get in!" (Y/n) shouts reassuring Dustin that they were right behind him. "Go, go!" Eddie shouts as the bats draw near.

"Shit! Shit! Hurry! Eddie shut it!" Dustin yells once they were all inside, Eddie quickly shut the gate they had made and then rushed inside where (Y/n) quickly slammed the door once Dustin had pulled his brother inside. "Dude! Most metal ever!" Dustin screams as Eddie grabs onto his shoulders and starts jumping up and down with him (Y/n) chuckles as he leans onto the wall trying his best to catch his breath.

After the excitement had died down the group went back into fight mode as the bats began to hit the roof of the trailer and the side as well. The boys all stood back to back with their shields and spears, turning in a circle so they could see from all angles.

"Hey, dipshits! Give up that easy, huh?" Dustin yelled once the sounds began to fade. "Shh! Is that really necessary?" Eddie asked just before the noises started up again.

"You just had to ask?" (Y/n) says looking at Dustin before looking back at the ceiling. "There on the roof," Eddie says his grip tightened on the spear.

"Shit. Shit. Shit." Dustin called out as they began to move following the sound of the noises, which lead them to a small vent. "They can't get in through there, can they?" Dustin asked only to jump back when the bat punched the cover off and crawled in, the group screamed as they used their spears to stab the bat.

"Die! Die!" Dustin chanted as another appeared also trying to squeeze its way in. "Annoying little shits!" (Y/n) yells hoping that they would all just drop dead. Eventually, Eddie stopped stabbing the creature and ran to a different area in the room.

"Eddie! We need you!" Dustin screams noticing that Eddie had left them. "Get out of the way! Get out of the way!" Eddie screams making the boys move out of the way as Eddie moves to slam the trash lid onto the ceiling, the nails making it stick.

"Holy shit. Holy shit." Eddie says out of breath as he turned to look at Dustin and (Y/n), Dustin was on the floor while (Y/n) was bending over with his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath. "Nice." Dustin complements, earning a thanks from Eddie the two high-fived before Dustin came to a realization.

"Are there other vents?" Dustin asked as their eyes widened. "Oh, shit," Eddie says as he runs over to the next room, Dustin and (Y/n) scrambling to follow after him.

"How did we forget to cover the vent?!" (Y/n) yells as Eddie drew closer but unfortunately the bats were faster as they flew out of the vent and poured into the room. They began to bang against the door that keep them separated. "Dustin behind us!" (Y/n) yelled as Eddie grabbed Dustin's shield both of them having their spears in hand as they back up preparing themselves for a fight.

"That's not gonna hold!" Dustin yells fear in his voice and on his face. "Let's go! Let's go!" Eddie yells looking back at Dustin who was already climbing up the rope.

"Come on, quickly!" Eddie yells looking back to make sure Dustin made it back to the other side. "Eddie, come on!" Dustin shouts as Eddie turned to look at (Y/n).

"Go! Go! I'll be right behind you I promise!" (Y/n) shouts stepping forward to allow Eddie to use the rope. "What? No, no, I'm not leaving you alone!" Eddie says making (Y/n) look over at him, he shook his head.

"Eddie that door is gonna break at any second! As your brother I am telling you to listen to me and get up there!" (Y/n) says, Eddie hesitates but nods climbing us just as the door begins to take real damage. Once Eddie landed on the other side he looked up to see if (Y/n) was making his way up, but he just stood there with a smile. "(Y/n)? (Y/n)! Come on what are you standing there for?! The doors gonna break!" Eddie yelled hoping that it would bring his brother back to his senses, but (Y/n) shook his head and held his spear in his hand reeling it back.

"(Y/n)! (Y/n), no! No! You promised! (Y/n)!" Eddie yells watching as (Y/n) swung the spear cutting the rope in half. "Sorry Eds, but I gotta give everyone just a little bit more time." (Y/n) says flipping the mattress away from the gate to prevent any of them from trying to jump back in.

"(Y/n), no! Come on, please! I can't- I can't lose you too! I can't! (Y/n)!" Eddie pleads as tears form in his eyes which darted around to find something anything that could help them. But (Y/n) kept going grabbing one of the shields and placing his spear behind his bag, running up to the bag on the floor he pulled out his walkman and put the headphones on. Tears in his eyes as he pressed play turning the volume up to block out Eddies cries, Beyond the Realms of Death by Judas Priest began to play. "I'll be back, stay right the Ozzy." (Y/n) says one last time before he bursts through the door catching the attention of the bats,

Quickly he ran over to the nearest bike picked it up and hopped on, he peddled away as fast as he could, the bats not too far behind him. Flashes of red lightning lit up the world around them as (Y/n) smirked standing up to peddle faster.

"Come on you little shits! I'm on a fucking bike, what's your excuse!" (Y/n) yells as the bats drew closer to him. "Come and get me!" By now (Y/n)'s legs began to burn from the peddling, he grimaced at the pain trying to ignore it but a bat quickly swooped in and knocked him off of the bike his headphones slipped off as well as he scrambled to get up. Once he was up he wasted no time as he turned to look at the swarm of bats, quickly he pulled out his spear and grabbed the shield placing it out in front of him.

"Come and get a taste, I dare you!" (Y/n) screams as one of the bats stops in mid-air to look at him, soon the whole swarm flies up to him hitting themselves on his shield as he tried to block as many as he could.

"(Y/n)! (Y/n)!" It was Eddie's voice, whipping his head around just as the bats began to surround him he could get a small glimpse of Eddie. "Didn't I tell you to stay there!" He yells watching as Eddie limped closer to the tornado of bats.

"No, you said I had to go to the other side, you never said I couldn't come back down. Maybe next time you'll be more specific!" Eddie yells holding out his shield as he charged into the circle knocking a couple of bats out of the formation before standing next to (Y/n). "Jesus Eddie you are a fucking idiot." (Y/n) says shaking his head with a smile.

"What? You've protected me all this time and now I think it's my turn to return the favor." Eddie replies his eyes widened as a bat tried to get (Y/n) from the back making him thrust his shield forward to scare it off. "Not with that limp your not, I swear to God when we are out of here you are so grounded!" (Y/n) yells hitting another bat that tried to come their way, the circle eventually started to close as the bats closed in.

"Shit, shit, shit!" (Y/n) yelled quickly grabbing Eddie and pulling him into a hug, using the shield to cover whatever parts of Eddie he could not cover. The bats began swooping in hitting the shield while others landed on (Y/n) and began to bite into him. (Y/n) quickly bit his lip trying to keep his screams in and ignore the pain as his vision began to blur with his own tears. "(Y/n)! Eddie yells struggling against his brother trying to free himself so he can help him, but (Y/n) stood firm his arms wrapped around Eddie preventing him from begin able to use his arms to free himself.

"Eddie-" (Y/n) says but was quickly cut off by a bat which wrapped its tail around his neck pulling him down to the ground away from Eddie, who also ended up being pulled to the ground by another bat but unlike (Y/n) there was a bit of a struggle as Eddie tried to rip its tail off. But just like (Y/n), Eddie went tumbling down to the ground as a couple of other bats came down and restrained their arms and legs. (Y/n) was first as two more bats came and started bitting down on his skin making any previous wounds grow bigger, by now (Y/n) couldn't hold out any longer as he let out a loud scream arching his back as he tried to break free, the bat's tails only grew tighter cutting the air from his lungs. And a few seconds later another two landed on Eddie, who was still trying to fight against them and started biting him as well. (Y/n) forced his eyes closed as he was forced to listen to Eddie's screams.

Then it went quiet, the biting stopped, and all the bats fell to the floor as the two brothers laid there gasping as the air came back to their lungs.

"Eddie! (Y/n)!" Dustin yelled as he also limped over to the pair. "Oh, God!" Dustin yells throwing his spear down to the ground and kneeling between the two as (Y/n) began to cough.

"Oh God, you guys!" Dustin says looking between the two, (Y/n) seemed to have it worse the sides of his face covered in blood and bite along with the rest of his body. "Hehe, bet we look like shit don't we." (Y/n) groans, wincing at the pain that came when he tried to laugh.

"No. No, No, you're gonna be fine. We just gotta get you two to a hospital, okay?" Dustin says looking at the two unsure who to help first. "Okay, but only if you promise me to take Eddie first." (Y/n) says as Dustin looks at him with teary eyes.

"But, but, your injuries are worse," Dustin says but (Y/n) shook his head his eyes staring up at the sky. "No, no, Dustin, take Eddie I'm not gonna make it... You'll waste time that could be used on Eddie." (Y/n) explained to Dustin but he shook his head.

"No, no, no, we-we are going to save both of yous! You'll be okay (Y/n)!" (Y/n) slowly shook his head a smile gracing his face. "I'm done, Dustin, I'm tired... Get Eddie help okay." Dustin nods seeing as there was no talking (Y/n) out of his decision, so he quickly tried to help Eddie up but the pain kept him on the ground as well, they three fell into silence as Dustin began to freak out unsure what to do, besides stay by their side.

"Guess you'll have to get my tombstone engraved with 'world's shittiest brother' on it." (Y/n) joked breaking the silence with a broken laugh. "Say, Eddie? Do... do you think I'll get to see mom and Jessica?" (Y/n) asked tears pouring down his eyes as well as Eddie, who struggles to speak.

"Yeah, yeah, you'll see your mom and you'll see our mom." Eddie finally manages to say, though, in reality, he wanted to say the opposite he wanted to tell (Y/n) he was stupid for even thinking that he would die, that he was stupid for thinking of himself as a shitty brother, and stupid for thinking that even if he did die that Eddie wouldn't follow him soon after. But he kept it to himself because if these really were their last moments Eddie wanted to make sure that (Y/n) could go peacefully.

"Okay..." (Y/n) says letting his eyes close and welcoming the darkness that followed.

(A/n): While writing this I realized that I could have done the guitar scene without the video but I kept it in cause I thought it was cool and the guys in the video did such an amazing job that I had to share it. Anyway, there's only one chapter left and then two bonus chapters, so stay tuned if you want to see them!
