"Connie." Liz calls out as she enters the house. She shuts the door behind her, "You home?"
It was then that she looked down noticing the rose petals making a trail throughout the living room. The girl frowns as she slowly follows it through the home. She looks up as she enters her bedroom. Her heart races as Conrad stares back at her. Liz looks around at the candles and rose petals before her eyes land on Conrad again, "Connie."
"Hey." He smiles softly taking slow steps over to her
"What is all this?" She asks as he takes her hand
"It's for you."
"For me?"
"Mhm." He hums with a nod, "Liz, I love you, so much. And I know I haven't been the easiest person to be with, but I couldn't imagine my life without you. I know I never want to find out what that would be like."
Liz gasps as he gets down on one knee in front of her, "Conrad."
"You have been here for me through everything. I don't think that I would've made it through my mom passing without you. I love you, Liz. And I will love you for the rest of my life." He says as he pulls a velvet box from his pocket. Tears cascade down Liz's cheeks as he opens the box in front of her, "Elizabeth Grace Anderson, will you marry me?"
Liz chuckles, "Yes."
Conrad smiles wide as he takes the ring from the box and slides it onto her left ring finger. He stands up and immediately pulls her into a kiss.

Liz fiddled with her engagement ring as she sat on the couch. The TV played a random show she had seen a hundred times over, but she couldn't be bothered to listen. She was pregnant.
She was terrified and after her conversation with River, her heart was racing. A million different thoughts flew through her head.
"Just tell him. The best thing you can do right now is be honest."
She knew taking River's advice was probably for the best, but she couldn't escape the anxiety that continued to build up inside her. Of course, kids had come up in passing conversations, but the two had never actually sat down and talked about it. And they definitely didn't discuss having kids this early on.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the door opening. Conrad smiled as he walked in and shut the door behind him, "Hey."
"Hey." She says as steadily as she could. Her heart beat thumped in her ears as he locked the door, took his shoes off, and walked over to the island to set his keys down, "How was drinks with Agnes?"
"It was good. She asked a lot about you as always." He joked. Liz smiled lightly as he shrugged his coat off, "I also called Laurel today and told her I couldn't make it to Cousins."
"She wasn't mad, was she?"
"No." He nods quickly, "No, she just told me to let Jere know. When I called the first time, he was busy and the second time, he went on about something happening with his grades and he has to repeat a semester."
"Oh." She mutters, "I'm guessing your dad is pissed?"
"Definitely. I told him not to listen to him. People repeat semesters all the time, but I'm sure he got to him. He always knows how."
"That sucks."
"I know, but I left him a voicemail to let him know I couldn't make it, so hopefully he gets back to me soon and he's not too upset about it." He says as he set his coat on the back of the chair, "What about your doctor's appointment? How'd it go?"
"Good."
Conrad smiled as he leaned on the counter, "Just good?"
Liz breathed out a laugh, "No food poisoning or anything like that."
"Okay." He says, "Was it something else?" Liz stayed quiet as she stared down at her hands. Conrad's brows furrowed for a second, "Liz?"
Liz looked up with tears lining her eyes, "Connie."
"Hey." He says softly quickly crossing the room to kneel in front of her, "What's wrong? What'd they say?"
Liz took a shaky breath before smiling tearfully, "I'm pregnant."
Conrad's eyes widen for a second, "What?"
"Yeah." She says looking back down at her hands, "I took a test at the doctor's office and even came back home and took one to make sure I wasn't dreaming."
"Wow."
Liz takes his stunned silence as disappointment, "I'm sorry."
"What? What are you sorry for? You didn't do anything."
"I don't know." She cries, "I know you just got the job at the summer clinic and I didn't mean to make things complicated."
"You didn't make anything complicated." He says before cupping her face, "We'll figure it out. I promise. It's not your fault."
"I don't want you to be upset with me."
"I'm not. Why would I be upset?" He says shaking his head, "I'll admit I'm- I'm terrified. But I'm not mad."
Liz lets out a deep sigh before she sniffles, "I've only told you and River."
Conrad then stands before sitting beside her. Her grabs her by her hips and sets her on his lap. Liz sniffles again as he pulls her into a hug. Her head tucks between his shoulder and his neck giving her a sense of comfort that only Conrad can seem to offer.
"We'll figure it out, okay?" He says, "We always do."
Liz pulls away and he cups her cheek. He wipes her tears away as she sniffles, "I don't know how I'm gonna tell my mom. Or Dakota."
"You have time." He says, "You'll see them soon and we can tell them then. If you want."
"I don't want to take attention away from your mom's dedication."
"You won't." He says before looking down, "I think it would be something my mom would be happy to hear."
Liz lets out a sigh as more tears escape, "I wish she was here."
"Me too." He nods before placing his forehead on hers, "We'll think about it. Okay?"
Liz nods before pulling away and laying her head on his shoulder.
