"Yeah, I know, Mom." Liz says as she fumbles with her keys. She scoffs lightly with a smile, "Yes, I will talk to Connie about his speech, okay? He'll get it done, I promise."
Liz pushes the door open and smiles as Conrad looks up from his place on the couch. Conrad smiles standing before walking over and taking the bags from her. Liz looks up with a smile, "Thank you. No, not you, Mom. Yes, I will tell him." Liz says following him into the kitchen, "Okay, I gotta go, Mom. I love you, too." Liz sighs as she sets her phone on the counter. She huffs as she looks up at Conrad, "Hi."
"Hi." He smiles, "How was work?"
"It was okay." She shrugs, "Nothing special."
"Everything okay with your mom?"
"Yeah." She sighs as she tucks her hair behind her ear and reaches into one of the bags, "Please tell me you've started your speech because my mother is hounding me to talk to you about it and as much as I love her, I cannot take it anymore."
Conrad chuckles as she turns to put something in the fridge, "Yeah, I actually wanted to talk to you about that."
"Okay." Liz says as she turns back to the counter
"Um, so I got the job at the summer clinic."
Liz's eyes widen as she turns to him, "What? Seriously?"
"Yeah."
"Connie, that's amazing. Congratulations." She squeals pulling him into a hug. She feels Conrad squeeze her back before she pulls away. Her brows pull together, "You don't seem too excited about it."
"No, I am. I am. I just-" He starts, "I start this week and I don't think I'm gonna be able to take the time off to go to Cousins."
"Oh." Liz sighs
"Yeah."
"I mean, I'm sure everyone will understand. It's not like you don't want to be there."
"I do and I don't want to let anybody down."
"You're not letting anybody down." She says wrapping her arms around his neck, "You've worked so hard for this and I know your mom would be so proud of you. I'm proud of you."
"Thank you."
Liz kisses him softly before looking up at him, "Just be honest with Jere and tell him what's going on."
"I will." He nods
"And he's definitely still gonna need help with the speech." She says making him laugh, "Because there's no way he's gonna be able to finish it by himself."
"I'll help him." He nods, "With whatever he needs."
Liz nods before placing a soft kiss to his lips. She then gasps, "Oh my god. You'll never believe what I found."
"What?" He mutters as she pulls away and digs through the bags. She turns to him with a beaming smile holding a box up in her hands. Conrad smiles, "You found them."
"One of my coworkers said she'd seen them at the store downtown." Liz says, "Ugh, I've been looking everywhere for these."
"I know." He chuckles, "Remember when you had me go all the way across town because you had a hunch they'd be there?"
"Okay, technically I wasn't wrong." She says placing the box down, "Because they were there, they were just sold out."
"Mm." He hums, "Whatever you say."
Liz tilts her head with a smile, "You know, you should be a little bit nicer to your fiancé."
"Ahh, right." He smiles
"Happy wife, happy life is what they say, right?"
"Yes, it is." He says stepping closer
"I think it's sound advice."
"I'm sorry." He says softly, "You and your cookie addiction are the cutest."
"Thank you." She hums happily leaning up and placing a kiss on his cheek. A smile spreads across his face as she turns away to unpack the rest of the bags.

Liz groans as she blinks awake. She looks around taking in the dark room and the moonlight barely peaking through the curtains. She sighs before her breath hitches. She rips the covers away and jumps out of the bed, rushing to the bathroom. She barely shuts the door behind her before kneeling over the toilet. She groans at the taste filling her mouth as she threw up any and everything she had that night.
She hears a knock at the door before it slowly opens. Conrad walks in and kneels down beside her, "Hey. You okay?"
"No." She mutters as he reaches over her and rips a piece of tissue. He hands it to her and she wipes her mouth before tossing the tissue in the toilet and flushing. Conrad watches her with concern swarming in his eyes. She looks over, "What?"
"This is the fourth day in a row, Liz."
"I know." She sighs
"You don't think you should see a doctor?"
"I don't think it's that serious." She says standing. Conrad follows her.
"You've been throwing up for almost a week. Day and night." He says standing behind her as she brushes her teeth, "I know you said before that it was probably something you ate, but you should probably see a doctor."
Liz spits out her toothpaste, "It could just be food poisoning, Connie."
"Can you just... go to make sure?" He asks softly as she continues brushing her teeth. Liz looks at in the mirror. His brow furrowed with a worry that made her heart stop. She nods before leaning down and spitting again, "Thank you."
Liz turns and gives him a small smile. He cups her cheek and kisses her forehead gently, "Come on. Let's get you to bed."

River reached in her bag to grab her phone. Her face lights up as she answers, "Hey, Lizzie."
"Hey." Liz says, "Um, do you have a second to talk? Are you busy?"
"No, not at all. What's up?"
"I- I'm freaking out. Right now." Liz stammers, "I don't know what to do."
"Okay." River says sitting up, "What's going on?"
"Um, so for the past couple of days I've been throwing up." She explains, "As soon as I woke up, I threw up and I would only sleep for a few hours before I jumped up to run to the bathroom."
"Okay."
"And Conrad asked me to go to the doctor to make sure everything was okay because he was getting worried."
"He's probably right, but are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm- I'm fine." She says with her voice cracking, "But-"
River's brows furrow as she hears Liz sniffle. Her heart beginning to race as she continued to sit in silence with her, "Liz?"
"Yeah?"
"What'd the doctor say?"
"I'm pregnant."
