Hours later, the group had finally made it back to Beacon Hills. Ariane agreed to drop Anna off at home while the others dropped Kira and Malia off before Stiles, Lydia, Scott, and Luisa brought Derek to Deaton. It was pouring as they rushed into the animal clinic. As Scott and Stiles laid him on the table, Deaton stares down at him, "Wow."

"Wow?" Stiles repeats, "Wow as in, "I've seen this before and I know exactly what to do," kind of wow? 'Cause that's the kind of wow we were hoping for."

Deaton nods, "I think you might be overestimating my abilities."

"He's cold. Really cold." Lydia says grabbing his hand

"Do you think this is permanent?" Scott asks

"I'm not sure a medical diagnosis is even adequate. This is well beyond my experience." Deaton explains checking his eyes

"So what do we do with him?" Luisa asks

"Until he wakes up, probably not much. It might be best to leave him with me. He'll be safe here."

"You mean from Kate?" Stiles says

"If she's alive and she is what you say she is, she won't be able to walk past that gate."

Luisa furrows her brows, "Why would she want do this to him?"

"Knowing Kate, it's probably for a reason that won't be any good for anyone but her." Deaton says

Stiles scoffs, "And bad for everyone else."

Deaton nods, "You guys should probably go home. He doesn't look to be in any danger. So maybe the rest of you should get some sleep? It is a school night... And you all need to start taking care of your own lives again."

"Someone should stay with you." Scott says

"I'll stay. My grades are fine..." Lydia says, "Despite missing a few classes."

"I'm so not okay with this." Stiles says

"Guys, go."

"No." Stiles persists. Luisa and Scott look to each other before Luisa shakes her head and heads toward the door.

"Text us if anything happens."

"Nope, still not okay with it. Not going anywhere." Stiles tries before being pulled to the door by Scott, "All right, just 'cause you're stronger..."

"Okay, so, is he like normal and everything?" Anna asks as Luisa grabs her book from her locker

"I guess we'll find out." Luisa sighs, "Still waiting for Deaton to say woke up."

"Right." Anna nods as Luisa shuts her locker, "And if he isn't normal?"

"I have no idea." Luisa sighs. Anna eyes her as Luisa looks over at her. Anna laughs causing Luisa to chuckle, "What?"

"This is all so weird." Anna laughs, "When you think about it."

Luisa giggles, "Yeah, I know."

Anna sighs, "You know, he should probably see Ariane first, if anything."

"What do you mean?"

"Like, clearly they're in love or whatever. So, if he is his younger self, through and through, then Ariane will probably be the only one he trusts."

"But it could also be very bad if he was brought back to before they made up." Luisa says. The two eye each other for a second before Luisa sighs, "Let Stiles figure it out."

"It might surprise you to know that some of history's greatest leaders have had to endure some pretty great failures. One you'll recognize from last night's reading failed in business, had a nervous breakdown, was defeated for both houses of Congress, and lost as Vice President, before he was finally elected as one of the greatest presidents that this country has ever seen. Who was he?" Mr. Yukimura says and a few students raise their hands. Stiles looks over to Scott with his hand raised and winks. Mr. Yukimura looks around, "Malia."

The girl looks up with her highlighter in between her teeth. Luisa, Scott, and Stiles turn to her as she freezes. A few seconds later, Scott's phone rings. Mr. Yukimura nods, "Scott, phones off. Malia? One of our greatest presidents. Gettysburg Address?"

Stiles tries to hint at Malia while Kira waves her hand around. Luisa looks down as her phone chimes. Before she can look at it, Mr. Yukimura sighs, "Phones off. Everyone. Malia? Does anyone else know?"

The rest of the class raises their hands making Malia shrink in her seat. Another phone beep making Mr. Yukimura groan, "I said phones off!"

"Dad, that was yours." Kira says

"Oh. Um..." He mutters before turning and picking up his phone, "Scott, call Lydia."

Luisa frowns toward Scott from behind Stiles. The teen turning to them with concern written in his features.

"I don't think he's just younger in body. I think he's younger in his mind too." Deaton says as Lydia wraps his arm

"He didn't recognize either of us." Lydia sighs, "And he looked like he was scared out of his mind."

"So if you're a teenage werewolf and you're scared, where do you go?" Stiles asks

"A wolf goes back to its den. But Derek lives in a loft." Scott says

"Not when he was a teenager."

"The Hale House?" Luisa suggests

"He wouldn't remember the fire. It wouldn't have happened yet." Deaton says

"Hold on." Lydia starts, "Say you do manage to catch up to him? What are you going to say to him? That his whole family is dead?"

"I guess I'm going to have to." Scott shrugs

"Oh..." Lydia scoffs, "Good luck with that."

"She's probably right. Maybe you shouldn't. You know, at least until we figure out how to get him back to normal." Stiles says

"I can't lie to him."

"Okay, I'll do it."

"I don't think any of us can. Remember, he can hear a heartbeat rising. When we find him, we tell him the truth."

"If he gets to the house first, you won't have to." Deaton says

"Okay, what if we get someone he knows to lie to him." Luisa says

"Who?" Scott asks

"Ariane." Stiles says

"That could work." Deaton says, "Just until we can figure out how to get him back."

"I still think we should just tell him the truth." Scott says

"Scott, we can't just tell someone their entire family died. I feel like it's kind of suicide mission." Luisa says, "Anna was saying the same thing earlier. Since he's actually back to his younger self, Ariane will be the one he knows and trusts."

"You know what?" Stiles says, "Let's just find him first."
