Chapter Seven
"God damn it! He got me from behind," Leo cried, throwing the controller across the room.
I laughed as I quickly changed the direction my player was heading in and made my way to where Leo had been shot down, my fingers flying expertly across the controller.
"There! Right in front of you!" Leo yelled as I was overwhelmed with gunshots flying at me, my health slowly getting lower with each hit.
"Shit," I mumbled as I dove behind a wall, quickly reloading my guns ammunition.
"Strafe," Leo instructed me.
I ignored his advice and instantly exchanged my shotgun for a pistol.
"What're you doing!?"
"Winning the game," I told him, not taking my eyes away from the screen.
My character leapt from his hiding position and sent bullets flying into the opposition, catching him dead with a simple headshot.
"Yes!" Leo and I screamed simultaneously, Leo jumping up in celebration.
"That's how you play a game of Rainbow Six: Siege!" I shouted, throwing my controller onto the couch as I stood up to join the roistering.
We danced around the Winner screen for a good five minutes before we were both abruptly interrupted by the sound of someone approaching us from behind.
I spun around, watching Bree snort when she realised which game we were playing.
"God you're idiots," she scoffed.
I grinned and shrugged, earning a smile back from her.
"Dude," Leo said, punching my arm playfully, "we've totally got to do that again".
"I'm afraid your game is going to have to wait," Mr Davenport announced as he entered the room, his eyes glued to a tablet.
"What is it, Big D?"
"Mission alert".
"What happened?" Bree asked, folding her arms.
"Potential explosion at a nuclear power plant".
"Location?" I asked, causing Bree to give me a weird look.
"A few miles west of Starling City".
"Right! Lets get on this," Leo announced, clapping his hands together for effect.
"Two questions," Bree quickly pitched. "One, where's Adam?"
"Already suited up in the lab," Davenport answered.
"And two, what're we going to do without Chase? Is it just going to be the two of us going, or what?"
"I'll go," I offered, causing Bree to laugh.
"Yeah and die in the first three minutes of being there," Mr Davenport accused. "Listen, Gavin, I appreciate the support and enthusiasm, but this is the sort of job for people with bionics".
I glared at him. He knew quite well what I was capable of, even if it wasn't strictly speaking me that was doing it.
Like usual, he ignored me and turned his attention to Bree. "Leo will be joining you".
"Hell yes!" Leo yelled, fist-pumping the air.
I had to use all my self control to stop myself from screaming what!? Luckily, Bree did it for me.
"Leo!? Seriously?"
"I may or may not have implanted him with a bionic arm," Mr Davenport said with a shrug.
"Wait, what?" Leo asked, just as confused as we were.
"I'll explain later. Right now we need to focus on the mission at hand".
Bree nodded, grabbing Leo by the shoulder and speeding him down to the lab.
Just as Davenport was about to follow them, I quickly ran in front of him, hoping to catch his attention.
"Mr Davenport --"
"Not now Gavin," he replied, pushing past me.
It was at that moment when I lost it. I activated my molecular kinesis and, with the invisible force in my advantage, flung him towards the closest wall and constrained him against it.
"What the actual hell Gav--"
"Don't call me that!" I screamed at him, shooting a dangerous look in his direction. "You know my name, use it. And don't bother using the 'others might be listening' excuse; we both know that they're all in the lab".
"I don't have time for this!"
"Time for this!?" I scoffed. "You never seem to have time for anything that I'm involved in".
"I don't know what you're talking about".
"Compare now to a year ago. You practically don't even talk to me anymore, let alone do anything with me!"
"Ga- Chase. Let go of me right now. People could die because of your stupid outbreak of anger over your delusion of reality".
I could feel the fire burning in my eyes as I looked at him, feel the rage pumping through my veins, a sudden desire to punch his fucking stupid ego right out of him.
Suddenly, Mr Davenport started coughing, trying to claw something away from his neck, his eyes bulging.
I took me a moment to realise what was happening to my father figure . He was chocking. I was chocking him. Shocked and confused, I quickly deactivated my bionics and took a step back. I watched as Davenport fell to his knees, gasping for breath. He looked up at me and I could feel my heart drop to the floor with a disappointed thud.
Something was happening to me. I couldn't control myself, and it scared me to death. Not knowing what else to do, I ran.
I ran out of the house and past the school. I kept on running, not caring about where I was going or how tired I was, not paying attention to what was happening around me. I ran for what felt like a decade, but I knew was only a couple of minutes. I looked around at the passing cars as I ran. Was it just me, or were they all going extremely slow? And how come the wind was so vicious today? I shook away the thoughts and kept running, not noticing how I was slowly increasing in speed or how fast I was actually running.
After a while I sighed, deciding that I'd run far enough. I skidded to a stop and looked around at my surroundings, utterly confused. Where the hell was I? It suddenly struck me. I was seven miles outside of Mission Creek. Either I'd been running for way longer than I'd originally thought, or something very weird was going on.
Before I could tell what was happening, I was suddenly lurching forward into a line of discarded trash cans, toppling over them with a grunt. I quickly stood up and realised that I'd somehow sped from where I was originally standing and into the bins in a matter of seconds.
It was just like Bree's superspeed - but I couldn't have developed that as an ability. Douglas wouldn't have implanted us with the same abilities, it wouldn't make any sense.
I held up a vibrating hand, staring at it as it moved side to side in less than point-one of a second.
"What the hell is happening to me?"

Thank you all so much for you're amazing feedback and help with answering my questions in the previous chapter. So, due to popular demand, I have decided to make this story crossover with the Flash universe. I'm really excited about this; I have so many ideas for what could happen and can't wait to write them!
Also, since not many of you were too keen on the idea, this won't be a Brase story. But maybe Chase will end up liking one of the characters from The Flash ;)
Also, just letting you know that this story is being set before the Lab Rats episode You Posted What!? and the Flash episode Flash Of Two Worlds.
Anyway, thanks again for all your help :)
Hope you enjoyed this chapter!! Please let me know what you think and what you want to see happen next.
