Ana and the Winchester brothers stop the Impala across the street and get out, the three of them are dressed as employees of the alarm system company. Dean gets a toolbox from the trunk of the car, and they proceed towards the apartment.

"Alright, Dean. This is the place." Sam says.

"You know, I've gotta say Dad and I did just fine without these stupid costumes. I feel like a high school drama dork." Dean says as he smiles, as with his free hand, he interlocked it with Ana's. "What did that play that you did? What was it -- Our Town. Yeah, you were good, it was cute." Dean says as Ana smiled. "See, Annie finds it funny."

"Look, you wanna pull this off or not?" Sam asks.

"I'm just sayin', these outfit cost hard-earned money, okay?" Dean says.

"Whose?" Sam asks.

"Ours. You think credit card fraud is easy?" Dean asks.

The three of them enter the apartment along with the landlady. "Thanks for lettin' us look around." Ana says to the lady.

"Well, the police said they were done with the place, so..." The lady as the three move into the room. Ana shuts the apartment door and notices the chain on the door is broken. Ana follows Sam into the living room, and she spots blood over the carpet. "You said you three were with the alarm company."

"That's right." Ana says.

"Well, no offense, but your alarm's about as useful as boobs on a man." The lady says as the curves of Ana's lips curled, but it was short lived when Dean nudged her.

"Well, that's why we're here. To see what went wrong and stop it from happening again." Dean says.

"Now, ma'am, you found the body?" Sam says.

"Yeah." The lady says as she nodded her head.

"Right after it happened?" Ana asks, as the lady shook her head.

"No. A few days later. Meredith's work called -- she hadn't shown up. I knocked on the door. That's when I noticed the smell." The lady says as Ana's eyebrows furrowed a little.

"Any windows open? Any sign of a break-in?" Dean asks.

"No, windows were locked, front doors were bolted. Chain was on the door; we had to cut it just to get in." The lady says.

"And the alarm was still on?" Dean asks.

"Like I said, bang-up job your company's doin'." The lady says.

"Mhm. You see any overturned furniture, broken glass, signs of struggle?" Dean asks as the lady shakes her head.

"Everything was in perfect condition -- except for Meredith." The lady says.

"And what condition was Meredith in?" Ana asks.

"Meredith was all over. In pieces. The guy who killed her must have been some kind of a whack job. But I tell you three, that if I didn't know any better, I'd have said a wild animal did it." The lady says as Ana looks at the brothers.

"Ma'am, do you mind if we take some time? Give this place a once-over?" Ana asks.

"Oh, well, go right ahead. Knock yourself out." The lady says.

───※ ·❆· ※───

Ana opens up the toolbox that Dean had brought and removes the EMF meter. "So, a killer walks in and out of the apartment -- no weapons, no prints, nothin'."

"I'm tellin' ya, the minute I found that article, I knew this was our kind of gig." Sam says as the EMF meter beeps frantically.

"I think I agree with you." Ana mumbles.

"So, Dean you talked to the cops?" Sam asks.

"Uh, yeah." Dean says. "It is nothin' we don't already know. Except for one thing they're keepin' out of the papers."

"Which is?" Sam asks.

"Meredith's heart was missing." Ana says.

"Her heart?" Sam asks as he turned towards Ana.

"Yeah, her heart." Dean says.

"So, what do you think did it to her?" Sam asks.

"Well, the landlady said it looked like a wild animal attack. Maybe it was -- werewolf."

"Uh, guys I don't think it was a werewolf." Ana says as she was observing the blood on the carpet as her brows furrowed as she tilted her head.

"Why's that?" Sam asks.

"See if you can find any masking tape around."

Ana uses the tape to connect each pool of blood. When she is done, the pieces of tape form an unusual shape.

"Ever see that symbol before?" Dean asks Ana.

"I feel like I have but I can't figure out where I have seen it." Ana says.

───※ ·❆· ※───

Dean is talking to the bartender trying, Dean takes two drinks and then smiles at the bartender and leaves. Ana is sitting at a table with Sam, as the two of them are looking through pages as Sam is looking at his father's journal. Moments later, Dean sits down besides Ana. "I talked to the bartender."

"Did you get anything?" Sam asks his brother.

"There's nothing to find out. I mean, Meredith worked here, she waited tables, everyone has was her friend. Everybody said she was normal. She didn't do or say anything weird before she died, so -- what about you Annie, you find anything?"

"Nope, nothing. It wasn't in John's journal or in any of the usual books. I just have to dig deeper, I guess." Ana says.

"Well, there was a first victim, right? Before Meredith?" Dean asks as Sam nods his head.

"Yeah." Sam says as he pulls out a newspaper clipping from the first death. "His name was uh -- his name was Ben Swardstrom." Sam says as he hands the newspaper clipping to Dean. "Last months he was found mutilated in his town house. Same deal -- the door was locked; the alarm was on."

"Is there any connection between the two of them?" Dean asks.

"Not that we can tell. I mean -- not yet at least. Ben was a banker; Meredith was a waitress. They never met, never knew anyone in common -- they were practically from two different worlds." Sam says.

"So, to recap, the only thing that connects the two is how they died." Dean says as Sam notices something as he gets up and begins to walk away. "Sam?"

Minutes later the brothers come back to where Ana and she was looking at a random article on her computer. Dean wrapped his arms around her from behind, as he pressed a kiss to her head.

"That was weird." Dean says as Sam begins to pack up his stuff. "Come on baby." Dean says as Ana nods her head as she too packs her stuff.

───※ ·❆· ※───

The three of them are walking out of the bar and back to the car. Dean and Ana's hands are interlocked with each other, Dean's thumb is softly rubbing on her knuckles.

"Who the hell was she?" Dean asks his brother.

"I don't really know. I only met her once. Meeting up with her again? I don't know man, it's weird." Sam as Ana sighs a little as she knows there is an argument coming.

"And what was she saying? I treat you like luggage. Why, were you bitchin' about me to some chick?" Dean asks his brother.

"Look, I'm sorry, Dean. It was when we had that huge fight when I was in that bus stop in Indiana. But it's not important, just listen--" Sam says but he got cut off by Dean.

"Well, is there any truth to what she's saying? I mean, am I keeping you against your will, Sam?" Dean asks his brother.

"No, of course not. Now, would you listen?" Sam asks his brother.

"What?" Dean asks.

"I think there's somethin' strange going on here, Dean." Sam says as Dean and Ana both look at Sam. "I mean our kind of strange.  Like, maybe even a lead."

"Why do you say that?" Ana and Dean ask in unison as they did their first bump.

"I met Meg weeks ago, literally on the side of the road. And now, I run into her in some random Chicago bar? I mean the same bar where a waitress was slaughtered by something supernatural? You don't think that's a little weird?" Sam asks.

"I don't know, random coincidence. It happens." Dean says to his brother.

"Yeah, it happens, but not to us. Look, I could be wrong. I'm just sayin', that there's something about this girl, that I can't quite put my finger on." Sam says as Dean smirks as Ana shakes her head with a small smile on her face.

"Well, I bet you'd like to." Dean says, as Ana nudges Dean as her small smile was still on her face.

"I mean, maybe she isn't a suspect, maybe you've got a thing for her?" Ana asks Sam not helping as Sam gives her a glare.

"Do me a favor. Check and see if there's really a Meg Masters from Andover, Massachusetts, and see if you can't dig anything up on that symbol on Meredith's floor." Sam says.

"What are you gonna do?" Dean asks, as he moves his hand to around Ana's back.

"I'm gonna watch Meg." Sam says.

"Yeah, you are." Dean says laughing, as Ana just shook her head with a small eye roll.

"I just wanna see what's what. Better safe than sorry." Sam says.

"See ya." Dean says as him and Ana begin walking to the car. "Want food?" Dean asks as Ana nods her head. "Course you do."

───※ ·❆· ※───

Dean and Ana are in the motel room they have some food from a takeout place, as they are researching Meg. Dean picks up his phone and dials a number.

"Hey."

"Let me guess. You're lurkin' outside the poor girl's apartment, aren't you?" Dean asks as Ana shook her head with a small smile.

"No." Sam says as Dean waits for another response. "Yeah."

"You've got a funny way of showin' your affection." Dean says.

"Did you find anything on her or what?"

"She checks out. There is Meg Masters in the Andover phonebook. Annie even pulled up her high school photo. Now, look, why don't you go knock on her door and, uh, invite her to a poetry reading, or whatever it is you do, huh?"

"What about the symbol? Any luck?"

Dean hands Ana his phone. "Yeah, it's uh, it's Zoroastrian. Very, very old school, like two thousand years before Christ. It's a sigil for a Daeva."

"What's a Daeva?"

"It translates to 'demon of darkness'. Zoroastrian demons, and they're savage, animalistic, you know, nasty attitudes -- kind of like demonic pit pulls." Ana explains.

"How'd you figure that out?"

"Have you met me? This is my jam." Ana says as it is no surprise that she would know this. As this and any other lore is her thing. "Anyway, here's the thing -- these Daevas, they have to be summoned, conjured."

"So, someone's controlling them?"

"That's what I'm sayin', and from what I know, it is pretty risky business, too. These suckers tend to bite the hand that feeds them. And uh, the arms and torsos." Ana says as she takes a bite from her french fry.

"So, what do they look like?"

"Nobody knows, but nobody's seen 'em for a couple millennia. I mean, summoning a demon that ancient? Someone really knows their stuff. I think we've got a major player in town." Ana explains to the youngest Winchester.

"Okay, thanks for letting me know. I'll see what I can find now." Sam says as the two hang up.

───※ ·❆· ※───

A minute later Meg leaves her apartment, now wearing a sweatshirt and jacket. She walks across the street, briefly glancing around the parking lot. Once she is gone, Sam who had been hiding, he gets out of the car and follows her. Meg stops at a graffiti-covered wall. She looks around before pulling open a door, which seems to be part of the wall. When she is inside, Sam peers out from a behind a building. He also walks to the wall and enters through the camouflaged door.

Sam enters the warehouse and walks up a flight of stairs. He reaches a door at the top, which he attempts to open, but it is locked. He looks around and sees a broken-down elevator gate. He enters the gate and begins to climb the side of it, using different bars as footrests. When he reaches the top, he is able to peer through the gate into a dimly lit room. There is a black altar in the middle of the room. Sam sees Meg enter and walk over to the altar. He keeps watching silently while hanging on to the bars of the gate. Meg reaches the altar and picks up a silver bowl filled with blood. She swirls her finger around in the liquid and speaks and incantation in an ancient language. She then begins to speak to someone Sam couldn't hear.

Sam looks confused, Meg sets down the bowl and blows out the candles at the altar, then leaves the room. Once she is gone, Sam moves to the wall, where there is a space through which he can crawl. He hoists himself up and climbs into the room. Sam walks to the altar and observes it. He sees several human hearts on the table, along with other ancient items. In the middle of the altar is the Zoroastrian symbol, drawn in blood.

───※ ·❆· ※───

Sam enters and looks around for Dean and Ana, they see each other. "Dude. I gotta talk to you." Dean and Sam say in unison.

"So, little Meg is summoning the Daeva?" Dean says.

"Looks like she was using that black altar to control the thing." Sam says.

"So, Sammy's got a thing for the bad girl." Dean says as Sam rolls his eyes.

"What's the deal with that bowl again?" Ana asks.

"She was talking to it. The way witches used to scry into crystal balls or animal entrails. She was communicating with someone." Sam says.

"With who? With the Daeva?" Dean asks.

"No, Ana says those things were savages." Sam says. "No, this was someone different. Someone's who's giving her orders. Someone who's comin' to that warehouse." Sam says as Dean thinks for a moment and glances at some files on a nearby table. He sits down at the table and looks through them.

"What?" Sam asks as he comes to look at the files that Ana and Dean had.

"The first victim, the old man -- he spent his whole life in Chicago, but he wasn't born here. Look where he was born." Ana says as she points something on the page.

"Lawrence, Kansas." Sam says.

Ana picks up the second file. "Meredith, the second victim -- turns out she was adopted. And guess where she's from." Ana says as the paper reads Lawrence, Kansas. Sam sits down across from Dean and Ana clearly shocked.

"Holy shit." Sam says.

"Yeah." Dean says.

"I mean, it is where the demon killed Mom. That's where everything started. So, you think Meg's tied up with the demon?" Sam asks.

"I think it's a definite possibility." Ana says.

"But I don't understand. What's the significance of Lawrence? And how do these Daeva things fit in?" Sam asks.

"Beats me.  But I say we trash that black altar, grab Meg, and have ourselves a friendly little interrogation." Dean says.

"No, we can't. We shouldn't tick her off. We've got to stake out that warehouse. We've gotta see who, or what, is showin' to meet her." Sam says.

"I'll tell you one thing. I don't think we should do this alone."

───※ ·❆· ※───

Dean is leaving a message on John's voicemail. While he is talking, Sam enters the room with bags full of weapons.

"We think we've got a serious lead on the thing that killed Mom. So, uh, this warehouse -- it's 1435 West Erie. Dad, if you get this, get to Chicago as soon as you can." Dean says as he hangs up.

"Voicemail?" Ana asks from behind Dean as she pressed a kiss on Dean's head as she walked by.

"Yeah." Dean says as he turns to see the bag that Sam has. "Jesus, what'd you get?" He asks his brother.

"I ransacked that trunk. Holy water, every weapon that I could think of. exorcism rituals from about half a dozen religions. I'm not sure what to expect, so I guess we should just expect everything." Sam says as Dean nods his head as the three of them begin loading their guns silently.

"Big night." Dean says as Ana sits by a nearby table.

"Yeah. You nervous?" Sam asks.

"No. Why, are you?" Dean asks his brother

"No. No way." Sam says as the brother were silent for a few seconds. "God, could you imagine if we actually found that damn thing? That demon?"

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves, alright?" Dean says as Ana turns around at what he said.

"I know. I'm just sayin', what if we did? What if this whole thing was over tonight? Man, I'd sleep for a month. Go back to school -- be a person again." Sam says, as he talks about what he wants to do if they do pull this hunt off tonight.

"You wanna go back to school?" Ana asks the younger Winchester.

"Yeah, once we're done huntin' the thing." Sam says as Ana nods her head.

"Huh." Dean says as Sam looks up at his brother.

"Why is there somethin' wrong with that?" Sam asks Dean, as Ana looks down.

"No. No, it's uh, great. Good for you." Dean says.

"I mean, what are you gonna do when it's all over?" Sam asks, as Ana has thought about that question more times than she wants to admit.

"It's never gonna be over. There's gonna be others. There's always gonna be somethin' to hunt." Dean says.

"But there's got to be somethin' that you want for yourself--" Sam says as he got stopped by Dean. The older Winchester pointed to Ana who had been watching the two brothers.

"Yeah, I don't want you to leave the second this thing's over, Sam." Dean says as he walks over to the dresser.

"Dude, what's your problem?" Sam asks as Dean is silent for a while, then turns back to Sam.

"Why do you think I drag you everywhere? Huh? I mean, why do you think me and Annie came to get you at Stanford in the first place?" Dean asks

"'Cause Dad was in trouble. 'Cause you wanted to find the thing that killed Mom." Sam says.

"Yes, that, but it's more than that man." Dean says as he turns to the dresser and is silent, then after a few moments he turns to Sam. "You, me, Annie, and Dad -- I mean, I want us...I want us to be together again. I want us to be a family again."

"Dean we are a family. I'd do anything for you and Ana. But things will never be the way they were before." Sam says as Dean looks heartbroken as Ana's heart broke a little at seeing Dean so heartbroken.

"Could be." He says sadly.

"I don't want them to be. I'm not gonna live this life forever, Dean, when this is all over, you're gonna have to let me go my own way." Sam says as him and Dean share a look.

───※ ·❆· ※───

The three of them climb the elevator gate to reach the top room. Dean is giving Ana a piggyback ride, as he doesn't trust Ana climbing the gates by herself. Meg is standing at the altar, speaking in an ancient language. Quietly, Sam, Ana and Dean squeeze through the space between the gate and the wall. The three of them draw their guns and move to the other side of the room, hiding behind some crates.

"Guys." Meg says as the three of them look at each other stunned. "Hiding's a little bit childish, don't you think?"

"Well, that didn't work out like I planned." Dean whispers as Meg turns around to face the three.

"Why, don't you come out?" Meg says as the three of them come out from behind the crates. "Sam, I have to say, this puts a real crimp in our relationship."

"Yeah, tell me about it." Sam says.

"So, where's your little Daeva friend?" Dean asks the blonde woman.

"Around. You know that shotgun's not gonna do much good." Meg says.

"Oh, don't worry, sweetheart. The shotgun's not for the demon." Dean says.

"So, who is it, Meg? Who's coming? Who are you waiting for?" Sam asks.

"You." Meg says as the shadow demon begins to form on the wall. Ana's eyes widen in pure horror. The shadow demon knocks Sam to the ground and throws Dean and Ana into the crates. A claw-like scratch appears on Sam's face.

───※ ·❆· ※───

The three of them are tied to three different poles. Ana is still unconscious as she is tied up to a pole. Sam comes to and sees Meg sitting before him.

"Hey, Sam? Don't take this the wrong way, but your girlfriend...is a bitch." Dean says.

"This, the whole thing, was a trap. Running into you at the bar, following you here, hearin' what you had to say. It was all a set-up, wasn't it?" Sam asks as Meg laughs. "And that the victims were from Lawrence?"

"It doesn't mean anything. It was just to draw you in, that's all." Meg says.

"You killed those two good people for nothin'." Sam says.

"Baby, I've killed a lot more for a lot less." Meg says.

"You trapped us. Good for you. It's Miller Time." Dean says as he smiled. "But why don't you kill us already?"

"Not very quick on the update, are we?" Meg asks as she leans in closer. "This trap isn't for you." She says as Dean is puzzled, as Sam thinks for a second, then realizes something.

"Dad. It's a trap for Dad." Sam says as Dean looks at Meg who only smiles at him.

"Oh, sweetheart -- you're dumber than you look. 'Cause even if Dad was in town, which he is not, he wouldn't walk into something like this. He's too good." Dean says.

"He is pretty good. I'll give you that." Meg says as he walks over to him and sits down straddling his legs. He looks a little uncomfortable when she straddles his legs. "But you see, he has one weakness."

"What's that?" Dean asks.

"You. He lets his guard down about his boys, let's his emotions cloud his judgement. I happen to know he is in town, and he'll come and try to save you. And then the Daevas will kill everybody -- nice and slow and messy."

"Well, I've got news for ya. It's gonna take a lot more than some.... shadow to kill him." Dean says.

"Oh, the Daevas are in the room here -- they're invisible. Their shadows are just the only part you can see." Meg says as there were some quiet moans as Ana was waking up from being unconscious.

"Why you doin' this, Meg? What kind of deal you got worked out here, huh? And with who?" Sam asks.

"I'm doing this for the same reasons you do what you do -- loyalty. Love. Like the love you had for Mommy -- and Jess." Meg says.

"Go to hell." Sam says.

"Baby, I'm already there." Meg says as she smiles and slides over to Sam. "Come on, Sam. There's no need to be nasty." Meg says as she leans in to whisper in his ear. "I think we both know how you really feel about me. You know, I saw you watching me -- changing in my apartment. Turned you on, didn't it?"

"Get a room you two." Dean says as Ana had cut the rope from her wrists, but she keeps her wrists behind her back. This is also coming from someone who would make out with Ana with every chance that he has, then again Ana and Dean are dating, so he can get away with it.

"I don't mind. I liked that you were watching me. Come on, Sammy. You and I can still have a little dirty fun." Meg says as she begins kissing his neck, which makes Ana gag a little at seeing She has a disgusted look on her face.

"You wanna have fun? Go ahead then. I'm a little tied up right now." Sam says as Meg smiles as she continues to kiss him.

A noise coming from Dean makes her stop. She gets up and walks behind Dean's post. She sees that he has a knife in his hand. She takes it and tosses it into a corner. Meg swings around to the other side of the post, and smiles at Dean, who chuckles guiltily. She then slides back over to Sam.

"Now, were you just trying to distract me while your brother cuts free?" Meg asks.

"No. No. That's because I have my own." Sam says as Meg is confused.

Sam breaks from his ropes and grabs Meg's shoulders, then knocks his head against hers. She falls to the floor while he groans in pain.

"Ana! Get the alter." Dean says as Ana rushes over to the altar and overturns it. Suddenly, the shadow demon appears and grabs Meg. She is dragged across the floor and crashes through the window, falling down to the street below. Ana grabs her knife and cuts Dean free from his ropes. The three of them walk over to the window and sees Meg sprawled on the sidewalk dead.

"So, I guess the Daevas, didn't like being bossed around." Ana says as Dean has an arm around Ana.

"Yeah, I guess not." Dean says as he turns to Sam. "Hey, Sam?"

"Yeah." Sam says.

"Next time you wanna get laid, find a girl that's not so buckets-o'-crazy, huh?" Dean says as he smiles and walks away with Ana. Ana winced a little when Dean's hand was on a particular part of her back. "What's wrong?" He asks as he didn't give her a chance to respond as he lifted up her shirt revealing her lower back. There was a decent sized cut on her back. His fingers grazed over the wound slightly and it wasn't bleeding but there was some dried blood. "Looks like it's dried. Okay when we get back to the motel, I'm cleanin' it."

Ana nods her head as Dean lowered her shirt and flannel that she was wearing. She rests his head onto his shoulder as the three of them walked out.

───※ ·❆· ※───

The three of them are walking back to their room. "Why didn't you just leave that stuff in the car?" Dean asks his brother.

"I said it before, and I'll say it again -- better safe than sorry." Sam says as Dean unlocks the door and the three of them enter the room. They see the outline of a man standing by the window. Ana instantly grabbed her gun and pointed it at the person.

Sam turns on the light, and the man turns around and it is John Winchester. The boy's father, both of the boys are stunned at seeing their father.

"Dad?" Dean says confused, as Ana still hadn't lowered her gun that she had pointed at John.

"Hey, Dad." Sam says as Sam and John do not hug but they look at each other. Sam then places the bag full of weapons on the floor.

"Dad, it was a trap. I didn't know, I'm sorry." Dean says as Ana's grip on her gun loosened.

"It's alright. I thought it might've been." John says.

"Were you there?" Dean asks.

"Yeah, I got there just in time to see the girl take the swan dive. She was the bad guy, right?" John says as he hadn't seen Ana. Even if he did, he probably doesn't care.

"Yes, sir." The brothers both respond to their father.

"Good. Well, it doesn't surprise me. It's tried to stop me before." John says.

"The demon has?" Sam asks his father as it was then that Ana decided to lower her gun.

"It knows, I'm close. It knows I'm gonna kill it. Not just exorcise it or send it back to Hell -- actually kill it." John says as Ana raises her eyebrows slightly.

"How?" Dean asks as John just smiles.

"I'm workin' on that." John says as Ana rolls her eyes at what he said.

"Let us come with you We'll help." Sam suggests as Dean and Ana give the younger Winchester a warning look.

"No, Sam. Not yet. Just try to understand. This demon is a scary son of a bitch. I don't want you caught in a crossfire. I don't want you getting hurt." John says to Sam.

"Dad, you don't have to worry about us." Sam says to his father.

"Of course I do. I'm your father." John says as he pauses for a second. "Listen, Sammy, last time we were together, we had one hell of a fight." He says as Ana couldn't help but nod her head, even if she wasn't there, she's heard what the fight was about from Dean. It was messy of all hell.

"Yes, sir." Sam replies to his father.

"It's good to see you again. It's been a long time." John says to his youngest son.

"Too long." Sam says as he and John hug each other. After a moment, they pull apart from the hug. The sons and the father look around tearfully, as Ana just stands there, then again, she doesn't entirely want to talk and or look at John Winchester. So, it makes sense.

Just then, the shadow demon attacks John. He is thrown into a set of cabinets and falls to the ground, like his father, Sam falls too.

"No!" Dean yells as both him and Ana are also thrown to the floor. The shadow demon is still attacking the three of them. They all groan and scream in pain as they are flung around the room like ragdolls. They all have fresh scratches on their faces. Ana makes her way to the bag of weapons on the floor, and removes a flare from the bag.

"Shut your eyes! These things are shadow demons, so let's light 'em up!" She says as she lights the flare, and the room is instantly filled with smoke and a bright white light. The shadow demon vanishes as the four of them try to feel their way around the room, coughing and sputtering.

"Dad!" Dean calls out to his father.

"Over here!" John replies as Dean makes his way towards his father and helps him up. Ana follows them out of the room, as she is carrying the bag of weapons.

The four of them exit the building and walk down an alley to the car. Ana puts the bag in the backseat of the car. "Alright, come on. We don't have much time. As soon as the flare's out, they'll be back." Ana says.

"Wait, wait, wait! Ana, wait. Dad, you can't come with us." Dean says.

"What? What are you talkin' about?" Sam asks his brother, as Ana is leaning against the Impala.

"You boys -- you're beat to hell." John says purposely ignoring Ana's presence, as she rolled her eyes at the father of the brothers.

"We'll be alright." Dean says to his father.

"Dean, we should stick together. We'll go after those demons--" Sam says as he is cut off by Dean.

"Sam! Listen to me! We almost got Dad killed in there. Don't you understand? They're not gonna stop. They're gonna try again. They're gonna use us to get to him. I mean, Meg was right. Dad's vulnerable, when he's with us. He -- he's stronger without us around."

"Dad -- no." Sam says as he puts a hand on his father's shoulder as Dean watches sadly. "After everything -- after all the time we spent lookin' for you -- please. I gotta be a part of this fight."

"Sammy, this fight is just starting. And we are all gonna have a part to play. For now, you've got to trust me, son." John says as Sam shakes his head no. "Okay, you've gotta let me go." John says as the three of them are silent for a moment, close to tears. Finally, Sam looks at his hand that's on his father shoulder, and then pats his father's shoulder, once and then let's go. John and Dean share a look, then John walks to his truck. Once there, he looks back at them one more time. "Be careful, boys." He says as he gets into his truck and drives away.

"Come on." Dean says as the three of them get into the car and watch as John's truck turns the corner. Dean and Sam look at each other knowingly. Without a word, Dean starts the car. He backs into the street, then speeds down the road and around a corner.

"That didn't go as planned." Ana mumbles quietly as despite everything Dean huffs a laugh at what she said.

"Ain't that the truth, Annie." Dean says to his girlfriend.

"Not how I wanted a Friday night to go." Sam adds to the conversation.

"Exactly..." Ana says as Dean looks at her through the mirror in the car. "I know we're all bloody and stuff, but can we get food."

"Yeah, we can get food." Dean says which makes Ana happy.

"Yay!"
