{death of a winchester and the birth of one}

Dean was finishing his shower that he was doing, as he out his shirt and pants back on, and walked out of the bathroom, but then stopped as there was a lack of Ana in the room. He walked towards the curtain of the window and saw a shadow sitting on the trunk of the impala, and he walked out of the motel room and towards the impala, and that's when he saw it was Ana.

He got on the trunk beside Ana and brought her into his arms as he pressed a kiss on the top of her head. Dean didn't see it, but there were rears rolling down her cheeks, she is taking him going to Hell, the worse, at least in his opinion.

He always makes promises that he won't keep, but yet here he is having his life on the line and he will be leaving her. He honestly doesn't think he deserves her if he is being honest. He didn't need to say anything to her, as neither did she. He just held her a little tighter as he leans his head on the top of hers. The two of them shared there on the trunk of the impala watching the sky.

───※ ·❆· ※───

Every night since Dean had died from the hellhound a couple of weeks ago, Ana has had constant nightmares. The group has spread away, Amelia is back in Seattle, and Ana is in Portland. Her dad, Bobby, is probably at the house in South Dakota, and Sam is somewhere.

Every couple of days, Bobby would call Ana and check in on her. She would give him the same response as she had the previous days. He knew that she was struggling, more so because of how much Dean and Ana had loved each other. They were so happy in love even if their job that they had wasn't the most stablilest.

Ana hadn't been on a single hunt since Dean had died because she had told him before he had died that if he died, she'd be done hunting; for good.

It feels weird not always being on a hunt like before he died. Before he died, they were always on a hunt and sometimes took a couple of days off just to relax before going back into a hunt.

But they were two weeks ago.

She also doesn't know the list time that she had properly slept and gotten actual sleep and just her dozing every couple of days.

It is dark in the impala as Ana is by a creek that the two would go when they lived in Portland in the beginning of their relationship. There is a soft breeze and a couple of clouds in the sky as a random cassette tape is playing, but other than the soft noise of Bob Seger in the background, it is fairly quiet.

Ana's had leaned down on the back of the seat as her eyes slowly closed shut. Then, after a couple of moments, sleep consumes her, and then she falls onto a dream like state.

Ana is walking around the woods near her apartment, where Dean and her used to come sometimes. She took a deep breath as she walked around, and she kept her head down. When she heard a twig snap, and it wasn't from her, she turned around to look at the person in front of her.

"Hey, pretty girl." The person said, which made Ana's eyes well up in tears, as her breath got tight in her throat as she saw the man in front of her. He was wearing the same clothes that he was wearing before he got chewed up like a chew toy. But minus the blood and guts, and everything else that she tried to forget what he looked like.

She froze as did every limb that was in her body, as her mouth gaped open at the sight of the one man that could love her stubborn ass of a woman. She shook her head as she knew that this wasn't real... at all.

"You're not real." She says to him, as that's when she actually looked at him. Standing no more than five feet in front of her, the man that she loved. The very man that she had watched die.

That's when he smiled at her, which made her heart hurt even more. There was no fear in his eyes. There was only peace. This led her to the conclusion that she had died herself and that maybe she is seeing Dean in heaven or something. But that would be beyond crazy, right? Maybe she'd go to the crazy house or some asylum because she had seen her dead fiancé in a dream that felt real, even if fucks sake she knew that she was asleep because she remembered falling asleep, just in the impala and not in the bed.

"Hey, baby girl." He says, smiling at her, which tears at her heart again, which makes her realize just how much she misses his voice. It feels like every time that he opens his mouth and speaks is when her heart breaks more.

"How are you here? I watched you die in front of me?" She says as her voice is quieter, much like a whisper, in the middle of the night when neither of them can't sleep or don't want to in general.

"You did." Dean nodded his head at what she said. "And yet here I am seeing your pretty face." Dean says to Ana.

"A-am I d-dead, or is this a dream?" She asked him as she was 100% sure that this was because she was dead or something because of how real this feels like. How real it is of seeing Dean in front of her.

He shook his head no at what she said as she let an exhale of breath that she didn't know was there. He reached his hands out to her as she very hesitantly took a couple of steps towards him, like he'd disappear if she got too close.

But he didn't.

He stayed.

She reached out a trembling hand, her fingertips brushing against his hands, like they had many upon many times before. "I'm here, baby girl." He says to her, which is almost like a whisper to her.

He softly smiled at her, which made tears well up in her eyes, which also made her lip quiver a little. She rested her head on his shoulder like she always have and what made her softly cry a little was the cage like of comfort of being in Dean's arms. It felt like a cage but an all-familiar cage of safety and comfort. His arms were tightly around her, but tight as comfort. The two of them stood there in each other's arms, as Dean was swaying just a little like he does to comfort her.

"I missed you so much." Ana says to him as that's when he presses a kiss on the top of her head.

"I missed you so much more, baby girl." He says to her as he softly brushes his fingers through her hair.

Dean's skin was paler. The light she always saw in his eyes was gone. His skin was even paler in the moonlight. Her heart raced again as she stumbled back a single step as his arms dropped to his side. Then that's when she saw it. the blood spreading across his torso, staining his once clean t-shirt.

The blood stain only spread. She heard the terrorizing sound of fabric and flesh tearing beneath the sounds of Dean's screams of pain. "DEAN!" Ana yells in a near scream, as then there was a thump as Dean's now dead body again fell to the floor, as Ana's knees fell beside Dean as she cried on his bloody chest.

Ana woke up with a gasp, bolting upright in her bed. Her chest heaved with every breath, her entire body trembling. She was searching the room for Dean. The sad thing is that she could still feel his lips against her skin and his arms around her.

This wasn't the first time of her waking up in a panic after having a dream turned into a nightmare. She started to scratch her arms with her nails as sobs wrecked her body. She never thought that she would have to come to the conclusion that he would be dead and not coming back. But that is the hard cold truth. Ana was alone, never to heal from the trauma of losing the best person to love her.

───※ ·❆· ※───

After the birth of Dakota, which was Ana's happiness in this dark and sad part of living without Dean. Bobby came out to Portland to help out whether Ana liked it or not. Amelia came out, too, along with Ash. Ash loved Dakota.

When Ana had to go to the grocery store or wherever Ash would watch the baby girl with no problem. He's been living off the grid as sometimes Jo and Ellen would visit Seattle, which is where Ash has been living after the Roadhouse got burned down.

Ash had survived the fire of the roadhouse a year and a half ago. He went to trauma therapy because a couple weeks after the fire, he was shaken up about it. After he was done with his trauma therapy, he packed up what he salvaged from the fire, which was nothing, and left Nebraska and went off the grid. He's been living in Amelia's apartment, which the blonde girl never minded at all.

Sam hasn't answered any calls or texts from Ana and Amelia since Dean died, to the point that the girls have stopped completely trying to get ahold of him. If he doesn't want to answer, they ain't going to answer either.

With the support that Ana has been getting from her dad, Amelia and Ash, and occasional help from Ellen and Jo, it made Ana realize that she wasn't completely alone without Dean. Amelia, Ash, Ellen, and Jo have all agreed to not mention Dean at all. Otherwise, it would set off Ana, and she'd start crying. Unless Ana mentions him first.

She does know one thing that if Dean was alive that he'd be an amazing father to Dakota. No matter what. That is what aches Ana's heart that Dakota is here in this world and her father isn't.

Ana always thinks of what would have happened if Dean hadn't sold his soul to the crossroad demon. She understands why he did it, though, because Sam was dead because of the military dude who had killed him.

It also makes her realize how dependent that she was of him and how much they relied on each other.

They have never been apart for this long since they started dating. The only time that they had broken up was during the whole Gordon Walker thing when Dean was choosing Gordon's side of the vampire thing. Even when they did break up, it wasn't for that long in the first place, only a couple of days or something like that, nothing significant. She would do anything just to hear his voice and have him right in front of her without it being a dream turned into a nightmare of her seeing the blood and the pale skin of him when he died from the Hellhound.

The thing is that she used to never be the type of person that would have nightmares, okay, maybe every once in a while, or something like that. But never consistent like it has been since he died. If she didn't have Dakota to worry about, Ana would honestly sell her soul or do something crazy like that. But she knew that Dean would find her and chew her ass out for doing it in the first place.

If he wasn't in Hell (and was just a spirit), she'd get one of those spirit talking boards, because in her opinion that is at least something that she can work with, but she isn't that type of person to be messing around with spirits. Not only would Dean chew her ass out (because he'd find a way even if he is in Hell), but also her dad, Bobby. She doesn't want to know what would happen if her dad found out of her messing around with spirits. She'd probably get sent to Hell herself by him.

Dakota is honestly the perfect version of both of her and Dean. Dakota has Ana's nose and face, but Dean's green eyes and baby attitude (which she already has and she's a newborn), but she isn't complaining. She might be a newborn, but she keeps Ana on her toes, but she wouldn't complain as she loves the little girl more than anything.

Ana would sleep on the floor next to Dakota's bed. Maybe it is the paranoid that something will happen to Dakota. Ana will be damned if something happens to Dakota. Then again, in the supernatural world, you can't be too careful.

Ana already lost Dean; she will not lose Dakota either.

───※ ·❆· ※───

Ana presses a soft kiss on the top of Dakota's head as she softly smiles. "I love you, Kota." Ana says softly, which was almost a whisper. "Forever." She says again as she presses another soft kiss on her head.

After she said goodnight to Dakota, like she has for the past four months, she laid down on the air mattress that she would sleep in which was at the foot of the nursery bed, like she has since she brought Dakota home from the hospital.

Every day she wishes that this is all just a nightmare that she isn't waking up from and that Dean will come hack to her. She just tropes that he will just walk through that door unharmed and doesn't have any injuries from being killed by the hellhound like he did before.

But apparently that is wishful thinking.

That is the one thing that she only wanted in life. She even has been praying. Ana of all people praying that even feels odd. Because she was never the one to pray in general. Not that her prayers have came true in the first place.

The last thing that she remembers is her dream slash nightmare of her seeing Dean in her dream.

Ana is walking around the woods near her apartment, where Dean and her used to come sometimes. She took a deep breath as she walked around, and she kept her head down. When she heard a twig snap, and it wasn't from her, she turned around to look at the person in front of her.
