Epilogue: Wedding | Birth

It has been a 4 months later, after the events of the barrier opening for good between the two sides. Haden and Evie has been busy since then organizing their wedding, while Evie was creating her wedding dress. And she has done it beautifully, even Mal helped with it.

Today was the day they were getting married, they are getting married where Mal and Ben are getting married in the new few months. Evie and Haden wanted to get married before the baby was born.

———————————

Haden was pacing the floor as he ran his hands through his hair, while Carlos and Jay look over at him. "Are you nervous?" they ask their best friend.

Haden looked over at them and chuckles nervously, "W-what...no?" He stammers his words as he sits down. "Okay...yes, what if she doesn't turn up?" He looked up at Carlos and Jay.

"Haden, are we sure you're talking about Evie? You know she'd be here, she loves you, you guys are destined to be together," Carlos smiled at him.

"Yeah, Evie wouldn't do that dude," Jay agreed.

————————

Meanwhile Evie was getting into her wedding dress, as her mother walk in, "you look beautiful," she told her daughter.

"Mom," Evie looked at her surprised and smiled, "what are you doing here?" She went over to her mother and gave her a hug.

"I wanted to see you before you left," Evil Queen gave her another smile. "How are you feeling?" she asked her daughter.

"I'm feeling nervous but I can't wait to marry Haden," Evie beamed, as her mother nodded.

"What's that?" Evil Queen points into the studio, Evie looked at her confused before she walks into the room.

"There's nothing her-" Before Evie could finish her mother, closes the door behind her and locks the door. Making Evie look back at her mother, "Mother?! What are you doing?!" She cried out as she tries to open the door but it doesn't budge.

"I can't let you marry him," Evil Queen looks at her daughter before walking out of the door.

Evie's cries for help and her banging on the door, no one could hear her, Mal was with Ben and Dizzy and Celia was at the church.

————————
It's an hour later Haden was waiting on the alter for Evie to arrive, he looked at his sister and she didn't know where Evie was, she thought she was on the way. Haden felt as if she wasn't coming. While Carlos and Jay went to Haden and Evie's castle to see if they could find Evie.

"Evie?" Carlos says as he and Jay entered the castle, "are you here?" Jay added.

"Hello?!" They turned towards the voice and went towards it to see Evie standing there. "Jay?! Carlos?! Please let me out," She told them.

Jay told her to back away from the door and she does what she's told and kicks the door open. Evie let's out a sigh in relief as she walked over to her two friends and hugged them. "Thank you,"

————————
Meanwhile Haden was in one of the rooms, and sitting down and having his hands on his head. He doesn't notice his sister join his side, "We're looking for her H..." she places her hand on his arm.

"I was wrong...maybe she did get cold feet...." Haden softly says as he doesn't look up at his sister.

"Haden...we don't know why she's late...she loves you.." Mal tries to say but Haden would listen to her and he just heads to the Enchanted Lake.

Haden throws a rock in the lake as he stares out at it, not realising he was joined by a certain blue hair girl. "Haden...?" He turned around and saw Evie looking beautiful as always in her wedding dress.

He stepped closer to her and smiled, "you look beautiful," before he could say anything else Mal and Jane both come running outside.

Mal approached her brother and covers his eyes. "No looking! It's bad luck!" She looks over at Jane who nods in agreement. "Let's get you inside so we can get you both married!" Both Jane and Mal drag the couple to the church.

————————

Haden and Evie were stood in front of each other, he couldn't take his eyes of her, as they both beamed at each other.  "Today, we are witnessing the wedding of a god and his true love." the pastor announced as he stood in front of them. "Rings?! Please?" He looked over to the best man's and then the bridesmaid, Jay walked over along with Mal as they both passed the rings to Haden and Evie then went back over to their spot. The pastor turned his head back to the couple in front of them. "Your vows...please,"

"When we came to Auradon...I always told myself I needed a prince, until Jane told you that her friend liked you...and I didn't know what to think..And then when we kissed in the kitchen that same day..I knew I've always had feelings for you, and...then I thought I lost you after we saved Ben..I thought I lost you and in the back of my mind I was wondering how my life would've been without you...and I didn't want to think about that, because I knew you'd make your way back to me, and then when I found out I was pregnant I was scared of what your reaction would be...and I'm so happy we're having a baby," Evie looks down at her growing baby bump as she places her free hand on it before she looked back at Haden. "And I can't wait to start our future off,"

"Thank you, Lady Evie," the pastor says with a smile before he looked at Haden," Your Majesty,"

"I uh...I don't know what to say," Haden chuckles nervously, "I've always known I've had feelings for you ever since Dragon Hall, the way the room lifted when I seen you for the first time...and Mal knew immediately when my eyes locked on you...and I will love you for the rest of my life and I'll continue to prove that every single moment of it and our unborn baby," Haden beamed at Evie as she wipes under her eye not smudging her make up.

The pastor smiled once again as he turned back to Evie, "Lady Evie Grimhilde, daughter of the Evil Queen. Do you take Haden the son of Maleficent and Hades to be your lawfully wedded husband? Through the sickness and in health, for better and worse...for richer and poorer to love and cherish, till death do us part?" He asked her.

Evie beamed as she held Haden's hands, as she slid the silver ring into Haden's finger, "I do,"

"And do you King Haden, do you take Lady Evie Grimhilde, to be your lawfully wedded wife and rule by your side as Queen-" before he could finish.

"I do," Haden answered, almost immediately, his voice as he slid the ring into Evie's finger as everyone laugh at his reaction.

"...then I can declare you bonded for life. I now pronounce you husband and wife," called the pastor, with a cheery tone in his voice, "Haden you may kiss your bride,"

"Glady," beamed Haden. He leaned forwards towards Evie, who smiled at him happily, and he  gently pressed his lips against hers. Their kiss was slow and quite romantic, as they wanted to enjoy their first kiss as a married couple as long as they can. Cheers behind them were heard as well as furious clicks on camera.

"You know," Evie breathed once they parted for air, "that may have been my favorite kiss we've ever shared."

"That was only the beginning," Haden promised his wife. "We've got the rest of our lives to practice."

Evie laughed in response before the happily married couple turned to face their guests. Taking her hand in his, Haden led his new wife into the waiting crowds of their friends and family. Without hesitation, the couple were swamped with well-wishers, and Evie felt Haden's hand slip from her grasp. Despite not being in physical contact with her new husband, Evie kept him in her eye line the entire time until they were able to re-join hands.

"Come on, we have to go and sign the papers," Haden whispered to Evie, making his way back over towards her, "We're not officially married until the papers are signed."

"I thought we weren't officially married until the marriage was consummated," Evie teased as they made their way through the crowd, marching back towards the altar.

"Don't worry, I intend to do that as well," Haden grinned at his wife.

Evie laughed as she followed her husband towards the back corner of the marquee, where the pastor was waiting for them, both of the newly weds both signed their marriage contracts. Haden pulled Evie into another passionate kiss, while Mal, Ben, Carlos, Jay, Jane, Dizzy and Celia joined their side.

"I love you," Evie whispered, as her and Haden took a moment to themselves to relish in their first fleeting moments as an officially married couple.

"I love you, too," Haden replied, kissing her lips chastely, well aware that their whole life was ahead of them, a life he was so thankful to live. "Always."

---------------------------------

five months later

The final month approached of Evie's pregnancy had Haden in a constant state of uncontainable happiness. His worries about becoming a father had been shoved aside in favor of fretting that at any moment he'd glance over and find his wife going into labor unexpectedly. Evie had assured him that she would know the minute of which the baby would be coming, and despite the fact that this was meant to comfort Haden, it did nothing but set him on edge.

Haden feared that if he fell asleep he'd wake up the next morning to Evie screaming in pain; he hated the thought of leaving her when he went to work or out to run errands, and his paranoia had finally amplified so strongly that he took leave from work in order to stay home with her. Evie had insisted he was being ridiculous and over-protective, but her husband hardly cared. His main concern was his wife; his wife and the baby growing inside of her. He wanted to be prepared for everything, which was an identifiable characteristic trait he'd adopted from her over the course of their relationship.

It happened one night as they were seated by the warmth of their living room fireplace — Haden was going through some paperwork, and his wife was attempting to knit a outfit for their baby. They worked in silence for a few fleeting moments, but when Evie stood and waddled over to pick up her basket of yarn, she gasped so loud that Haden nearly fell out of his desk chair at the abrupt sound. He glanced up, hearing the pitter patter of some sort of liquid hitting the wooden floor. The letter he'd been clutching in his hand fluttered to the ground, and he gazed at his wife in both bemusement and wonder.

"Uh, Evie?"

"Haden," she began, her voice slightly urgent. "Haden, my water broke."

"So that means...?"

"Yes," Evie breathed, turning to face him with wide eyes. "The baby's coming."

His eyes wide, Haden made quick haste to run through the house and gather everything they'd packed for this very moment. He took out his phone and left Mal a voicemail and told her that Evie was going into labor. In record time, Haden swung their bag full of baby necessities over his shoulder, took hold of his wife's hand, as they headed to the hospital Evie had squeezed his hand tighter, groaning from contractions.

By the time they'd registered and signed in to the hospital, Evie felt beads of sweat come down her brow, her contractions coming more and more frequently as she tried to breathe deeply to relax herself. Her grip on Haden's hand had tightened so much that he could've sworn the bones were broken, though he didn't seem to care all that much as he merely brushed a handkerchief across her forehead.

They had been given a private room to deliver the baby, and the room was swarmed with the midwife and doctor to deliver their baby, Evie screams of pain grew louder, and when her husband finally gathered the strength to watch the process of his baby being delivered, Haden was certain he was going to be sick.

He was also determined never to have sex again. He took Evie's blood curdling screams as a wordless agreement. "It's a girl!" the midwife exclaimed over the shrieks of the newborn baby, after hours and hours spent in the pregnancy ward at the hospital. In that time, Haden never dared to leave Evie's side for a single second, for he was too preoccupied whispering comforting words in hopes of calming his wife down.

"You hear that, my love? It's a girl," he restated proudly, squeezing Evie's hand once as she struggled to regain control of her breathing. "Here's to hoping she'll be just like her mother."

Haden placed a few kisses to the side of her head, chuckling softly as a means to hide how nervous and excited he was that their baby girl was finally here. Evie didn't rise to the bait as he'd expected her to, shifting slightly on the bed instead and patting for him to join her as the midwife cleaned their baby. Haden quickly joined his wife in bed, and by the time their baby was finally delivered to them, he could've sworn his baby girl was the most beautiful creature in the entire world. His previous thoughts of uneasiness and terror fled from his mind, and instead Haden became entranced by the small baby bundled up in swaddles of cloth and cradled in Evie's arms.

Their baby girl already had a few dark blue locks of hair, and Haden reached over with a finger to brush his hand against the soft curls. Tears streaming down her face, Evie leaned up and placed a watery kiss on her husband's lips before they both broke into content sobs as their little girl wiggled ever so slightly at the voices of her parents. The doctor and midwife left the married couple alone with their baby girl for a moment to allow them to get comfortable, and Haden bent downwards and pressed a soft kiss to the baby's forehead, unable to stop himself from grinning ear-to-ear at the sight of his daughter.

Never in his life had Haden seen nothing more beautiful, his heart stuttering uncontrollably in his chest. He was certain of it, even if he couldn't find the words capable to express the elatedness he felt.

"She's perfect, H," whispered Evie, smiling, as she rested tiredly against her husband's shoulder.

"She is, she takes after you E," replied Haden wholeheartedly. His throat was nearly swollen shut and it had grown rather difficult for him to talk, but he knew Evie would understand that.

The door opened and Mal, Ben, Jay and Carlos appeared, as Mal smiled as she walked over to them, "She's beautiful, guys." Mal hugged her brothers side as she stared down at her niece. "Can I hold her?" she asked with a smile as she looked up at her brother and her best friend.

Evie looked down at her daughter and then at Mal with a smile as she nodded, she gently passes Haden their daughter. He holds his daughter by the waist and her back as he gently places her into Mal's arms as he sits back down on the bed.

"Have you guys decided on a name yet?" Mal asked them, as she looked up from her niece with a smile.

Evie glanced at her husband and smiled, nodding once more before speaking up. "Her name is Esme," she answered softly, before looking at Haden with a smile her husbands eyes still on their daughter.
