Jace isn't that much of a mean guy or evil. Actually for someone people would consider a spoiled brat, he's actually nice and has a soft heart. The only bad thing about him is that he's quite closed-minded to what people who aren't rich go through, he's simply never thought about those of the lower class and their struggles. He never means to hurt anyone with his comments, he just needs to learn more about the real world. He has a reputation to maintain, so if that means being mean to keep it up in front of everyone then he will. He has no problem doing that. He can make stupid mistakes, he's a teenager, they all do. The Channings are one of the richest families in the state, seeing as they own multiple businesses around the state, and even have estates that they make money off of. This means that Jace grew up with everything though he wasn't exactly his father's favorite, that was his older brother so his mother favored him the most. He grew up spending most of his time with her, and that turned him into a mommy's boy. Jace and his older brothers were constantly at odds, no matter what. He had given up trying to be perfect.
