"My darling,
You will never be unloved by me,
You are too well tangled in my soul."

He stood near the railing, gazing at the sky, which was illuminated by the moon and the stars. The moonlight fell on him, making his honey skin shine, while the wind blew, making his hair move gently. The cold breeze made him shiver as he stood there shirtless. It was an open land, situated on a hill, to see the town from a higher altitude.
He elegantly pulled out a cigarette from the pocket of his pants, along with a lighter. He held the cigarette between his pink, plump, bow-shaped lips, where his bottom lip had a silver ring piercing. He lit the cigarette and inhaled the intoxicated smoke, later exhaling it with a sigh.
He put his hands on the railing, as he gazed at the moon. He silently glanced at the car behind him, where his girlfriend slept peacefully. A small smile made its way to his lips, which held regret, guilt, but love too.
He went toward the car and stood near the window. He softly caressed her head before tucking the strands of hair behind her ear. He stared at her beautiful face, while she slept in the backseat, wearing his shirt.
It was supposed to be a beautiful and memorable night, but it also brought back the memories of one year ago to the man's head.
One year ago
"See, I told you, it was an easy thing for me," he said proudly, while the other boys laughed along with him.
"Well, yeah! We knew that it was an easy challenge for the great Jeon Jungkook," one of the boys said, while chuckling, to which Jungkook showed his proud smirk.
"It was no fun. The girl agreed to date him in just three days. We need to give a hard challenge," another boy said, annoyingly. They all sat there talking about the shitty bets they make, not even acknowledging that they had bunked one of their important lectures.
"Exactly! I'm craving for some hard challenges too," he said as that smirk still rested on his lips.
"Really, Jeon Jungkook, then let's make a bet," Suho, the person who always tried to irk him, said with an evil smirk on his face.
"It better be something interesting, not like those bland challenges you give," Jungkook replied, while looking at him with those eyes which held mischief.
"Oh! Believe me, you wouldn't be able to win the bet," Suho said, while gritting his teeth at the insult uttered by Jungkook.
"Pretty confident, huh! Okay, tell me, I would love to crush your confidence under my shoes," Jungkook replied as he brought his face closer to Suho, trying to scare him with his gaze.
Suho scoffed at his words.
"Time will tell. The bet is to make Y/n fall in love with you, date her, use her, and break up. Can you do it?" he said with an evil smirk, knowing that Jungkook doesn't like the idea of using a girl.
Jungkook raised his eyebrow at the male's choice of words. Rage conquered his mind as he looked at his sinister smirk, as he uttered the words,"Sure! Prepare your money."
"I'm in the bet, one million from my side," one of the boys said, chuckling.
"Yeah! I'm in, too. One million from my side too. Y/n is kinda a tough one," the boy who previously talked about giving a hard challenge, agreed to the bet.
"Two millions from my side," Suho uttered, while looking at Jungkook, still with that smirk resting on his lips. "I'm damn sure that he will lose," he said, making Jungkook burn in anger.
"Just see how I win, and you lose," Jungkook spitted the words on his face, before walking out.
Present time
Jungkook inhaled the smoke one last time, later crushing the cigarette under his heel. His eyes held regret as he looked at Y/n.
He regretted making a bet on an innocent soul like her. He sighed as he again caressed her hair.
The playboy, who never caught feelings for anyone, fell in love. Initially, he approached Y/n to complete his bet as he wanted to prove Suho wrong. But, Y/n was actually a 'playing hard girl' who never gave a damn about relationships. He chased her for over a month, but couldn't get a single response from her side. He realized that she was something different.
Their relationship took a turn when a person leaked her photoshopped photos on the school website. She was trolled by everyone in the school, but Jungkook stood by her side and believed in her. He comforted her and helped her to find the person who leaked her fake pictures. Later, with the help of Jungkook, it was found out that the person was Y/n's competitor in the dance competition she won last month.
Because of that whole situation, they both got close to each other as friends. At that time, Jungkook completely forgot about the bet and the challenge. He started falling for her, for her personality, for her innocence.
He proposed to her, after two months of their friendship and he got a positive response from her and they started dating. He pampered her with love and care. He showed that side of him to her, which he never showed to anyone. He, definitely, loves her.
But, he couldn't help but feel regret as the memories of making the bet struck his mind that night. They got intimate for the first time. It was supposed to be a perfect night, but left Jungkook with uneasy thoughts.
'I'm sorry, love.'
'I'm sorry that I once treated you as a thing to make a bet on.'
His eyes showed guilt, as he still caressed her head. She fluttered open her eyes, as she felt warmth around her head. She smiled softly as she found Jungkook staring at her lovingly.
She sat straight on the seat while saying, "Why are you standing outside, Kook? Aren't you feeling cold? Come inside."
He smiled at her concern for him. He opened the door, and sat inside while sitting against the door, facing the love of his life. She crawled towards him and sat in front of him, while resting her back on his chest. He rested his chin on her head and embraced her in his arms. She closed her eyes as she felt relieved in his arms.
"I'm sorry, love," he broke the silence, while Y/n frowned at his statement. She turned her head a little, and saw Jungkook smiling softly with hesitation in his eyes. He continued, "I just wanted to relieve your mind from all the stress, that's why I brought you here, but... it all happened that way... I'm really sorry if I made you uncomfortable, I had no intention-" he was cut off by a pair of soft lips. He sighed as he kissed her back, with the same passion as hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck, while his one arm was wrapped around her waist as he turned her completely to face him, and his other hand cradled her face.
She slowly backed away to look at his face as she slowly caressed his cheeks. "I never felt uncomfortable with you. And if I have all the rights on you, then you also have the same rights on me too. It's not like you forced me, Kook. So, stop saying that," she said with pure love evident in her eyes.
"I love you, Y/n."
"I love you too, Kook."
He smiled at her, while her cheeks turned red remembering the moments they shared a few hours ago. Jungkook noticed her red face as he asked her, "What happened, love?"
She glanced at him briefly before replying, "You were my first, Kook." He smiled at her softly.
"I know, sweetheart."
"I'm also your first, right?" she asked with curiosity in her eyes, while her lips had a beautiful smile. On the other hand, Jungkook's smile started to fade away as he listened to her words.
Y/n realized the situation, looking at his fading smile and his guilty eyes. She smiled softly as she replied to the question herself, "Well... it doesn't matter what your past was. What really matters now is that you are mine and I'll never let you go."
She hugged him, while resting her head on his chest. He rested his chin on her head as he engulfed her in his arms, tightly, not intending to let her go. A single tear rolled down his cheek as he saw all his wrong deeds flashing in front of his eyes. He regretted being a playboy. He regretted playing with every other girls' feelings. At one point, he intended to hurt Y/n's feelings too. The guilt and regret was too much to handle for his poor heart.
"We will always stay together, right, Kook?" she asked him, her voice coming out as a whisper.
Jungkook felt a pang in his chest as he heard those words. Whatever happened in the past was a dark memory for him, but now he loves her. He doesn't intend to leave her. He will not leave her at any cost.
"Yes, love, we will always stay together. I'll never leave you," he pulled her closer, if that was even possible.
A new fear engulfed him as he thought about all the consequences and reactions of Y/n when she would come to know about his dark truth, about that shitty bet he made on her, that he thought of her as a materialistic thing. He didn't want to lose her. He couldn't even imagine his life without her, now when she has become a major part of his life.
"Y/n, no matter what happens, please always remember that I love you. I truly love you," he said with a trembling voice. He knew that one day she would know about the bet.
"I trust you, Kook. I love you too," she said, while caressing his cheek, the wetness of his tears evident as she touched his face with her fingers. She was touched as she realized that he was crying. She was completely in love with this man.
They both lied down together, Y/n on top of him, while her head rested against his chest. They both embraced each other under the moonlight, one in the fear of losing the love of his life, while the other one wanted to cherish the memorable night.
