Midoriya's body began to morph into something else. His clothing changed and grew with him, enchanted to be able to do so. It was one of his spells. He grew taller, looming over the other people there. Dark markings appeared on his face and body, and his eyes became pure black. Horns grew out of his head, some of them securing his hat onto his head completely. His ears became longer and pointed, now resembling an elf's ears. Spikes grew from his arms, coating them, and the sleeves rolled up to make room. His fingers transformed into large, ugly claws. His teeth sharpened into razor blades, and his tounge became that of a snake. What seemed to be the bones of wings pushed their way out of his back, dripping with darkness. A singular, whiplike tail sprouted out of his lower back. Glowing green runes began forming on his skin. 'Oh no, not good..!' Midoriya thought, desperately trying to gain control over himself again.

Swear words echoed throughout the cafe, as everyone stared at the monster that Midoriya had become. None of them had ever seen Midoriya in this form, but they all knew about it. This was his darkness beast, something that he was a master of. Very few used it, out of fear of being possesed by the beast's rage, like what was happening now. The young witch had learned the spell while he was younger, and didn't fully realize it's consequences at the time. It wasn't possible for him to unlearn the spell, as the beast had been attached to his soul once he learned the spell. For the most part, the beast's soul was simply a part of Midoriya, it just felt negative emotions much more intensely. This was the first time it had acted up. And that was worrying.

Uraraka tensed up as well. She had definitely heard rumors of these disasterous beasts, and she had hoped that she would never encounter one. They were supposed to be destructive, blood thirsty beasts, and that growl he made didn't lessen her fear one bit. She muttered a spell, and a bright light shone from her hands, blinding Midoriya. An enraged roar tore it's way out of his throat, as he rubbed his eyes with clawed hands. After learning the truth about him, she was no longer sure if she actually wanted to fight him or not, but it seemed she no longer had a choice. He hissed, the light seemed to irrate the dark witch even more than it might've before. Maybe that wasn't the best thing...

A loud chant of runes spilled from Midoriya's mouth, and a jolt of pain made it's way up her arm. She grit her teeth in pain, although it wasn't all too severe. A giant claw was slashed at her, and she just barely escaped the sharp blades that replaced his fingers. The claw created large scratch marks on the floor where they hit, displaying the power that backed them. That couldn't be good. She had taken down the forcefield, and there was no way Midoriya would give her the chance to set up a new one. Meaning, with these new circumstances, someone actually could get hurt. Although, his attention seemed hyper focused on her. It was hard to tell though, with the pure darkness that had taken over his wide eyed expression.

Uraraka mumbled out the spell for one of her most commonly used spells, creating multiple arrows of pure light. Midoriya dodged most of the arrows with ease, batting some of them away with his tail, and flying out of the line of fire of the other ones. Of course, neither of them could keep it up forever. Eventually, one of them would get tired, and the spells would stop up. Unless of course, one of them utilized a different spell. Both parties did have an array of spells at hand. An arrow managed to slip right by one of his many horns, reflecting off of his pointed hat. A cling could be heard, as a piece of shiny metal hit the ground. Uraraka let curiousity get the better of her, and moved to inspect the metal object. It was golden and star shaped, much like the pin on Midoriya's hat. Looking up again, she realized that it was the pin. The arrow had knocked it off. Midoriya seemed to have noticed as well. He let out a low growl, and used some sort of spell to freeze Uraraka in place as still as stone. He flicked the star pin out of her grasp, and ran over to where it landed.

The crowd of people seemed nervous by this occurance. You see, Midoriya was extremely attached to the little pin, for one reason or another. They didn't know why exactly, but they didn't question it. Midoriya seemed to be attached to quite a few of his possesions, really. It didn't come as a suprise, most of the things he had on his person all the time were magical in some way. However, this pin was not. In fact, the young witch refused to even attempt to enchant it, saying that it might ruin the star shaped pin. None of Midoriya's enchantments ruined the subject that was supposed to be enchanted, though. Enchantments was something Midoriya was rather good at, whether he would admit it or not. So it confused them of why the magic obsessed boy liked it so much. They knew it had nothing to do with quirks, either. Quirks were Midoriya's other main intrest, dispite his lack of one. After growing so attached to his magic, he couldn't help but compare quirks to the dark arts he practiced. So, he ended up studying quirks.

Anyway, Midoriya was trying to pick of his pin with clawed hands, but failed to do so each time. Eventually, he realized that he couldn't pick it up in his current state, and his body shrunk back to his normal, smaller than average size. The horns and spikes disappeared, along with his wings and tail. The dark markings on his face faded into nothing, glowing green runes following after. The robes he wore seemed oversized once again, hanging off of his small frame lazily. Razor sharp fang shrunk into regular teeth. His eyes returned to their clouded green state, which allowed for them all too see tears building up in his rounded emerald eyes.

His almost boney fingers scrambled to pick up the pin, holding the star shaped item close to his chest. He curled in on himself, almost as if he were trying to hug himself. Sobs racked his body, causing for him to tremble slightly. Small gasps for air could be heard from him, the crying must've been making it hard for him to breath. Everyone felt tempted to go comfort him, but an aura surronded him that just screamed 'stay away'. And stay away they did. Midoriya would seek comfort when he was ready, and based off his current aura, he was not ready. Mumbles of "don't leave me here..." or "I still need you" could be heard from him, if you paid enough attention to make out what he had said. After awhile of staying like that, he fumbled to put the pin back in it's place, holding up the brim of his hat on one side.

He wiped the tears from his eyes, although his lip still quivered from the crying. "I'm s-s-sorry... I-I l-l-l-let my e-emotions g-g-get out of h-h-h-hand... I-I p-put y-y-you all i-i-in d-danger... s-s-s-sorry..." He said, the words clear dispite his studder. Somehow, Uraraka and Tokoyami got a feeling that he wasn't pretending. The feeling was certaintly correct. When Midoriya faked emotions, he pretended to be happy, in an attempt to hide his negative emotions that made him vunerable. And he never told fake apologies. Guilt was a feeling that he commonly had, and would eat at his soul if he didn't apologize. Even then, apologies didn't always satisfy his guilt. Sometimes the guilt just festered in his bottle of closed off emotions.

He slowly stood up, and walked back to the booth. He put his things back in his backpack, apart from his magic gear, and slung the yellow strap over his shoulder. The bright yellow really contrasted with the dark of his outfit. He pulled out a couple hundered yen, and placed it on the table. He turned to the claw marks in the floor, staff in hand, preparing to use a spell to fix it. Then he stopped, "right... no more magic..." he mumbled to himself. Uraraka suddenly spoke up, "Not really. We never did shake on it before hand. So, the deal was never really made."

Midoriya turned to look at her, a look of suprise taking over his face. "Wait, that was a part of it too? We had too shake on it?" Midoriya questioned, dumbfounded. Uraraka chuckled, "well yeah, every witch knows that, silly!" Midoriya looked away, mumbling something. Whatever it was, no one would know, except of course himself. After a few moments, he nodded, "Okay, thank you.." He then mumbled the same spell he used to make his staff, mending the floor of the cafe. He then walked over to the door, still gripping the staff in his small hands. He opened the door, and left the cafe without another word. A confused silence was left in the air.

╚»★«╝ _ ╚»★«╝

Midoriya shut his bedroom door, sliding down it to sit on the floor. He wrapped his arms around his knees, the staff balanced between his two arms. Agrivated magic pulsed through his veins, poisoning his blood stream. Well, not really poisoning. He would be fine, really. His magic was just attempting to bond with his body further. It really wasn't a good time for it, though. Normally, he didn't mind it when his magic made itself more intertwined with his being. It was just that the process usually intensified his negative emotions.

Which was definitely a problem, after almost losing his special pin to that light witch, Uraraka. Losing it was something he just couldn't take. That pin was the last thing his father had given him, before mysteriously disappearing. He had no other prove of his father, as his mother had destroyed everything left of father in the house. Everything except the star shaped pin that Midoriya took everywhere, even before learning magic.

He remembered, his father had taken him to see the stars quite a few times when he was younger. Both of them had enjoyed watching the night sky, as shimmering lightning bugs flew around them. The peaceful sound of the crickets, the dew drops on the grass, the sweet smell of the night, the comforting darkness surrounding him, the beautiful, shimmering lights in the night sky that surrounded the moon. It was perfect to him. Maybe that was linked to why he learned dark magic....

Either way, his father had gotten the pin for Midoriya's 5th birthday, since Midoriya liked the stars so much.. He remembered what his father had said, giving the pin to him, "Remember, Izuku. No matter how far apart we may seem, we'll always be linked by the stars. After all, they look the exact same, no matter where you are." Too bad his mother decided they should move to Mutsutafu, where all the smog and light pollution covered the stars from view. Sometimes, Midoriya really hated the light. Maybe that was his magic speaking. The closest thing Midoriya had to looking at the stars with his father, was that star pin. That was all he had left of his father, a simple, star shaped pin, that the young witch would never ever allow to be ruined.

He allowed himself to cry at all the bittersweet memories, ugly sobs escaping his mouth. Why did he have to leave? What had even happened to him? Midoriya wanted the answers, wanted so badly to hear his father's gravely, yet somehow soothing voice telling him that everything would be alright, that he was save in his father's warm hugs. Hugs had always made Midoriya feel better, back when his father was around. Now, the few hugs he did recive from his mother felt hollow, unloving and unaccepting of the witch. Now, he hated being touched, even if he never said it.

Why did things have to change?
