" Wake up!!" called Ms. Heatherby. It's been 3 days since Lizzy was adopted, and I still haven't heard from her. I picked up my phone to see if she has called or texted me... nothing. I got up and got dressed in my Totoro t- shirt, spirited away baseball cap, a pair of shorts, some Harry Potter flip- flops, and went down the hall to see what Ms. Heatherby wanted. "Finally! " she called as I entered the kitchen " I need to talk to you!" "Well, go ahead and tell me," I replied "I would hate to be woken up for nothing." "Anyways," she said, ignoring my sarcastic comment "you're being adopted" "WAIT WHAT?" this had to be a joke. The only kids that hadn't been adopted were Kayla, me, and some other little kids that I didn't know the names of. Kayla had been to four different homes, ALL of them had sent her back saying she was the most disagreeable child they had ever met. I kinda felt bad for her, but she said she didn't care. I never really saw her outside of her room, and I've only had a few conversations with her. She always had a mouthful of bubblegum, and seemed kinda rude and standoffish at first, but once you get to know her, she's pretty cool. { A\N: ANYHOO BACK TO THE ACTUAL TOPIC! ( SORRY )} " Well," said Ms.Heatherby " you are going on a plane to London and-" "O.M.G. THAT IS WHERE LIZZY LIVES" " Yes, I knew you would be exited about that. Now, go get packing, you're flight is at 11:00 so you have about 5 hours to get ready and say bye to you're friends" she responded. "Yeah," I muttered as I walked down the hall, "those non-existent friends."

I was leaving in 30 minutes. I accidentally bumped into Kayla as I was struggling with my bag in the hallway " hey, do you need help?" "Yes please" I gasped " so, I heard you're leaving. " " yeah" I responded "Well, bye... I guess" " uh bye". as I was about to get into the taxi Kayla ran up, and handed me a package " Just a goodbye gift" she said, then ran back inside. I opened the package. It was a journal. Wait, something fell out. A note, that said " to my only friend " -Kayla. Below that was her phone number and another note that said "call me! " " Don't worry" I said to myself " I will"
