❝Stigma❞

【Adelaide】
I stared at my unfinished oatmeal for what seemed like ten minutes.
Right.
The very thing I was forgetting was something I've been trying to forget.

"I'm not going." I spat. "On second thought."
"WHAT?" I heard a loud thump coming from the other side of the room. It followed by a series of objects colliding as they fell on the floor.
Athena came rushing in the room. "Oh no, lady. You're going, whether you like it or not."
I squinted my eyes. "Last time I checked, you said you'd leave me to walk."
"Idiot, hear sarcasm."
"You can't do sarcasm."
She rolled her eyes. "At least just come with me for a ride. You've been stuck in the house since the first day of summer and did absolutely NOTHING, so far."
Summer Lie #2: Going out to new/old places, appreciating society and nature.
Athena looked at me like she wanted to strangle me and shove me in a box. "Your time's up."
Before I could react, she swept me off the chair, carried me like a sack off potatoes (I am a potato), and ran to the car.
With me screaming my head off in the background.

And so there I was, arms crossed, sitting at the front seat of the car with an ugly annoyed expression plastered on my face. My white hair was entangled altogether with the pink streaks in the end, tied in a messy bun.
Did I mention I still had my PJ's on?
After a while, Athena seemed to have (finally) caught on to my sour attitude and pulled up in a parking lot of a coffee shop.
She sighed and glanced at me. "Want something bitter? It'll match that face of yours."
"Ha-ha."
Athena took out her handbag and entered the store as I was given a few minutes of solidarity to contemplate on the life God bestowed upon me.
I wanna go home.
I'm hungry.
I wanna sleep.
I signed in exasperation. Can I just be born a rock in my next life?
My dear sister seemed to be taking quite a while just to buy a cup of liquid, so I got bored and left the car.
As I approached the entrance, a boy that seemed about around my age exited, holding a beverage on his hand.
He wore a casual red button-down jacket with a night-black choker around his neck. He had black leather pants, and white converses.
Compared to me and my current state then, he definitely had some fashion sense.
However, we're not here to admire this dude's outfit.
What happened next was something I wouldn't blame myself of. He was walking so fast, his head faced down, that he didn't see me.
And BOOM, we collided like asteroids, fell and hit our bums on the solid ground, and his beverage, which I'm betting he spent more than three dollars on, spilled on my jams.
This dude just ruined my bloody jams. I was not amused.
"I swear to the gods," I cursed, grinding my teeth.
The boy looked at me in shock, his mouth slightly open—for about five seconds.
Then, instead of helping me up or apologizing, he blurted out, "You look like you just came out from a death chamber, little girl."
He stood up, dusting his possibly Gucci pants. His soft pastel pink hair fell over his glimmering silver eyes, which seemed to be examining the whole garbage appearance I had. His smooth skin seemed to be shimmering under the sunlight. The side of his lips curled to a slight smile.
He looks like a doll. I thought.
I got up, chocolate liquid dripping down my bunny slippers. I shot a sarcastic smile. "You make quite an impression, Strawberry."
His eyebrows knitted. "Dude. Did a little girl wearing teddy bear jammies, just call me a strawberry?"
It was my turn to frown. "This little girl is stronger than she looks. I can offer you a sample if you want."
"No, not today. Gotta scoot somewhere."
"Thanks for the apology, rude stranger."
"Says the one that called me a fruit."
Before I could shoot a witty comeback, the front entrance door of the shop opened and out came Athena. I'd forgotten where we were standing for a moment.
She stopped abruptly to avoid bumping to us. "Adelaide, what are you doing here?"
She looked at the boy and raised an eyebrow. "You know this person?
"For about one minute. He's a rotten strawberry poorly harvested." I stated flatly.
"You know, I really need to go now. Nice meeting you, miss." The boy said, nodding his head towards my sister. He gave me a distasteful glance before strolling out his way to wherever.
"He's cute," Athena grinned. I made a face then she looked at me up and down. "What happened to your pajamas?"
I gave her a look of disbelief. Before I could answer, her phone vibrated. She took out her lavender flip phone and read a text.
The world hates me so much, it doesn't want me to start or finish a sentence.
Athena shook her head. "We better get going."
"Where?"
"Somewhere."
I frowned for what seemed like the millionth time that day. "You said you were only taking me for a quick ride. We're going home."
"I lied." She gave me a mischievous smile. "Now get your butt in the car."
