You're peacefully asleep in bed as the sun's warm rays seep through the window above your bed.

Angelina: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

*BEEP*

Angelina: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

That's until your phone beeps loudly causing you to wake up panicked and fall out of bed onto the floor.
You look up blinking confused as you sit on the floor.

Angelina: Not how I planned on starting my birthday ( ' • • )

Oh! Welcome dear reader!!!

I should probably introduce myself,right?

My name is Han Angelina and it's my birthday today.

My eighteenth birthday to be more precise.

And now I'm sitting on the floor...

Angelina: I should probably get up and check who messaged me.

You sniff the air and then realize.

Angelina: And also take a shower because I don't smell so great...

You get up and dust off your pajamas.

Angelina: That's better.
Now to see who messaged me...

You say as you pick up your phone from your night stand and check.

Angelina: What?
I've been awake
before you sent your texts.

Helen: Really?
I don't believe you.

Angelina: Why?

Helen: Because I'm your best friend.

And I'm sure you were still sleeping because you stayed up late reading that book you got.
That one about a demon prince?

Angelina: No,I wasn't ( ' • • )

Helen: 🧐

Angelina: Yah...
You're right.

Helen: No one blames you girl:)
From the look of the picture you showed me!
I don't blame you.
But alas demon princes don't exist.
So you need to get your
cute self ready:)

Angelina: Ready?

Helen: Yes,today I'm going to take you to campus and give you a tour. And of course we will be roommates:)

Angelina: Oh yah.

Helen: And after that we will celebrate your birthday.
So get ready...
And I'll come around to get you at your house.

Angelina: Ok! See you in a bit.

You put down your phone and stretch.

Angelina: And now for that shower...

You head to your bathroom and take a relaxing shower...
Washing your hair with your favourite shampoo as you hum a tune.
After finishing you grab a towel and dry off and quickly slip on your fluffiest bathroom robe.
You exit your bathroom and head over to your closet.

Now to get ready.

You look through all your clothing and furrow your brows.

Where is it?

There it is.

You pull out a dress.

I quickly slip into it and do my hair and put on some light make up.
I smile as I look at myself in the mirror.

Today is the start of the next chapter in my life! I'm eighteen!!!

I can't believe it!!! I'm so happy!!!

I excitedly go downstairs and greet my parents.
As I reach the end of the stairs I see my mom with a big smile on her face.

Mom: Happy birthday to you...

You slowly walk towards her.

Mom: Happy birthday to you...
Happy birthday our sweetheart...
Happy birthday to you...
I hope you have a great birthday with many more to come.

Angelina: Awww:)

Suddenly the both of you hear something that sounds like an explosion.
You two freeze looking at each other.

Mom: What was that???

She asks in a frantic whisper with both her hands over her mouth.

Angelina: I'm not sure...
It sounded like it was coming from the kitchen...
We have to check it out immediately.

You tiptoe towards the kitchen.

Mom: Angelina! No! Get back here!

Your mom whisper yells but you continue.
She shakes her head and quietly follows you.

Mom and I crawl to the kitchen...trying to see what caused the noise.
We both peek in...

Only to see that it's dad.

Angelina: It's just dad...

The two of you get up and walk in.

Angelina: Dad?

Your dad whirls around and looks at you surprised like you just caught him doing something wrong.
You raise your eyebrows as you look at his police uniform.

Angelina: Why is your uniform covered in whatever that is...?

Mom: And the kitchen is also covered in it?
But most importantly are you okay,honey?

Dad: I'm completely fine...just covered in chocolate that's all...

He smiles.

Dad: I was trying to make my favourite daughter----

Angelina: You mean your only daughter:)

Your dad nods and laughs.

Dad: Yes,I made your favourite pancakes but I also thought that I should make a chocolate cake too...
But...

He glances at his uniform covered in chocolate and then at the chocolate cake.

Dad: I set the temperature too high...and the cake exploded...
At least the cake tastes okay...
It's just a bit...not so good looking...

Angelina: It looks fine and I'm sure it tastes great:)

Dad: Yes,go and wait with your mother in the living room...I'll be right there.

Angelina: Okay,dad.

-In the livingroom-

You and your mom patiently wait for your dad.

Angelina: Dad really is something else:)

Mom: He sure is...
And it's what made him pique my interest since the first time we spoke.

Just then your dad enters the livingroom holding the chocolate cake with a big smile on his face.

Dad: Happy birthday:)
Happy eighteenth birthday.
I can't believe my little girl is all grown up...

You see your dad's eyes turning a bit shiny.

Dad: I...we...are so proud of you...
We couldn't have asked for a better daughter...

Mom: We are beyond proud...
We love you a lot...
More than you could possibly imagine...
It feels like you were just a little girl a few seconds ago...
And now you're a full grown woman...

Dad: And one day you'll meet guys...you'll experience many things.
You'll get married...

Mom: Honey,I'm already on the verge of crying.
Please don't mention all these things right now...
Let's take it one step at a time.

Your mom says as her eyes tear up.

Angelina: Oh mom...dad...
Yes,I will one day meet many people and experience many things...
I will get married one day...
But no matter what happens...
I'll always stay your little girl.

Tears stream down their faces as you envelope them in a warm hug.

Angelina: I love you both very much...
You two have done so much for me...
I can never repay you...

Mom: J...just....please...be careful...

Dad: And...take....care...e of yourself today as you always do...
Please come back safe and sound...

Angelina: Don't worry...I'll be fine...
I won't be alone...I'll have Helen with me...

The three us stand and hold each other for what feels like forever...

-Time skip-

After eating a bit of cake and my parents telling me to look after myself and a tearful goodbye...I get in Helen's car and smile at her.

Angelina: Hey:)

She turns to me with a smile.

Helen: Hey,happy birthday girl!
I can't believe today is the day!
I have so many ideas of what we could do.
We will of course go to my university and give you a tour of your soon to be second home.
I'm so excited! Are you excited?!

She asks practically jumping behind the wheel.

Angelina: Of course I am...
After the long day...we'll come back here and have a sleep over!
We'll watch movies late into the night.
And of course we'll also do your favourite thing----
Aka talk about guys!

Helen: I'm so excited! We'll have so much fun!
Now that you're 18...you're allowed to date and I'll help you to find the nice guys. I'm an expert at it after all.

Angelina: You sure are:)

Helen: Ohhhhh~

She says as she looks at the box in your hands.

Helen: What's in that box?
Is it a gift from a secret admirer? Mhm?

Angelina: No,it's not...
My dad gave it to me...
They were telling me to be careful today and look after myself...
To be completely honest...

You look down.

Angelina: They were acting more worried than usual...and it's making me nervous...
They also told me to be back before midnight.

Helen: You're just overthinking...
They're your parents...it's normal for parents to worry...
You're also their only child...and you're going to leave the "nest" tomorrow...
They're just worried that you'll leave them behind since you'll have other things that will take your time.
We'll be back before midnight.

Angelina: Yah...you're probably right...

Helen: Now let's see what gift your dad gave you:)

You nod your head and smile.

Angelina: Okay:)

You open the box.

Angelina: Oh.

Your smile widens as you take the gift out.

Angelina: It's a watch*smile*
A small one and it's black.
I like it:)
I like that my dad gives nice yet not expensive gifts even though we're rich...
I love my family a lot...

Helen: And they love you:)
Do you need help putting it on?

Angelina: Yes,please.

I hand over the watch and she helps me put it on.

Helen: Wow!
It looks nice on you.

Angelina: Thanks:)

You say as you admire the way it shines in the sunlight.
You look at Helen.

Angelina: We should probably get going before my parents come out here...
I already cried in there and I don't want to repeat it.

Helen: Yes,let's get this show on the road.

She starts the car and you two drive off.

On our way to the university...Helen and I play and sing along to BTS songs...
We can't do the songs justice but we sing along anyway:)
After 3 hours we arrive at the university.

Helen parks the car and the two of you get out.
You look up at the building.

Angelina: Wow...

Helen: Welcome to Park University!:)

Angelina: It looks better than it did in the pictures...

Helen: I thought the same when I came here last year...
We'll have so much fun!
There are so many things to do here and also many cute guys*wink*

Angelina: I don't doubt it*chuckle*

Helen: Let's start the tour! All aboard the Helen express!:)
This is the main entrance of the university.

She continues talking as you feel a pair of eyes on you.

You look around and finally see a girl.
The girl is glaring at you.
You look at her confused.

Why is she staring at me?

Maybe I should wave...

You put on a smile and wave at her.
She glares at you...looking like you waving at her made her angry.

Did I do something wrong? She looks angry...

Helen: Hey? Angelina?

Angelina: Huh?

You ask as you turn your attention back to Helen.

Helen: Am I boring you?

You shake your head.

Angelina: Not at all...
I just waved at that girl behind you since she was staring at me like me waving at her made her feel offended...

Helen looks and shakes her head.

Helen: What girl?

Angelina: That---

Your words are cut off as you see the girl isn't there.

Helen: There's no one there.

You look at her confused.

Helen: No one other than us and a few students and faculty are here...
Remember?

I'm sure I saw a woman around the same age as me over there...

But maybe I was just imagining it...

I haven't been sleeping well these days...so it's possible...

Angelina: Yah,I completely forgot...
Anyways let's continue the tour:)

Helen smiles.

Helen: Yep!!!

She gestures around you two.

Helen: This is the soccer field.

Helen shows me around campus and I'm impressed with everything it has to offer.
But while being so mesmerized by everything I lose sight of her...

You're standing inside the university building.
There are many halls and classes.

Where is she?

Angelina: Helen?
...
Is anyone there?
Hello?
No response...

I almost forgot...Helen told me yesterday that most of the people went to some camp a few days ago and they'll be back tomorrow...

Which means I'm basically alone...

You sigh and then get an idea.

I should just use my phone to call her...

You reach into your pocket and frown.

It seems I left my phone in my purse and it's in the car...

I should just go and look for her...

It shouldn't be too difficult...

-Time skip-

You come to a stop in another hall.

I was completely wrong...

This university is like a maze...

I have no idea of where I'm going...

I'll just go into this room over here...

If I stay in one place then it'll be easier for her to find me.

You open the door and walk inside.

This looks like a club room...

You walk over to a shelf full of books.

I can stay here and read a few books...

Helen will be here soon...she'll realize that I'm not with her...and look for me...

You scan all the names of the books...tracing your fingertips over each one.

Aha!

You pick up a book that caught your eye.
You open it and smile.

This looks like a nice book to read.

I spend time reading and waiting for Helen to come...

-Time skip-

You continue reading the book and as you turn to the next page...

I hear footsteps...

That can only be her! I'm sure of it!

Without another thought you put the book back on the shelf.

Angelina: Over here!
Helen!? Is that you?

No answer...

You close your eyes and let out a calming breath...
You open your eyes and back away in surprise.

A woman stands in front of me and just stares at me.

Angelina: Ma'am---

Unknown: It's not good to be out so late...

I look at her confused...it's not late...it's probably only 13:00...

Unknown: Nothing good comes from being out late...
You should be careful...
Before you decide to do anything...think it through...
Do you understand?

She's creeping me out...

You gulp...feeling the hairs on the back of your neck standing up.

Angelina: Yes...yes...I do understand...

Out of the blue the woman starts laughing hysterically and then stops..it freaks you out as you look at her a bit scared.

Unknown: Good...
Now what are you doing here in the clubroom?

Angelina: Well...I came here today with my best friend Helen...
She gave me a tour of the campus but after a while I lost sight of her...
I went looking for her but ended up even more lost and then I came here.

Unknown: Oh...
You mean Jacob Helen?

Angelina: Yes...

Unknown: So you are Han Angelina?
The new student here?

Your eyes widen as you slowly nod.

Angelina: Yes...how do you know?

She laughs hard at the question and then stops.

Unknown: All faculty here try to know about each student...new or old.

Angelina: Oh...okay...

Unknown: Now...
Let's get you to your friend...

She makes a beeline for the door...walking very fast and you hurry after her hoping to keep up and not lose  sight of her.

-On the field-

The two of you exit the building and step onto the field.
The woman turns to you.

Unknown: Your friend will be here any moment now...

You smile and bow your head.

Angelina: Thank you---

Helen: Angelina!!!?

You look and see Helen running up to you.
You look at where the woman was standing but she's nowhere to be found.

I didn't even get to thank her properly.

At least Helen's here...

Helen: Are you okay?
I'm so sorry...I was talking too much and I didn't realize---

Angelina: It's fine...
A woman helped me find you...
She probably went inside...
She did creep me out a bit...
She told me that I shouldn't be out late and think things through before doing anything...

Helen: Oh yah...
That was definitely Miss Cho.
She's the university's cleaner.
She always gives creepy welcomes to anyone new here...
Don't pay attention to it.
Let's just get out of here...I can show you the campus tomorrow...

Angelina: Okay...let's go...

The two of you get into her car and drive off.
Not long after she parks the car and the two of you step onto a beach. The sun is shining brightly and reflecting off the blue water...The seagulls flying high up in the air as there's a gentle breeze.

Angelina: This view is nice...

Helen smiles as she looks back at you.

Helen: It is:)
Wanna go for a swim?

Angelina: Only if we get ice cream afterwards:)

Helen: It's your birthday and we'll do whatever you want.

Angelina: Great!
Let's go!!!

Helen: Okay! Okay!

While Helen has her back turned I take off my dress and dash towards the water.
I dive in and the water feels cool on my skin.
I look around and see all types of life.

So beautiful...

And then...

Unknown 1: An...ge...li...na...

What was that?

Unknown 1: An...ge...li...na...

I feel a strange need to follow the voice...

Unknown 1: An...ge...li----

Angelina: N...o....*gurgling*

Something wraps around my ankle and I kick trying to break free.

Angelina: G...et...off!!!*gurgle*

I feel it letting go and I swim away fast.
I break the surface taking in huge breaths.

Angelina: O...my...gosh...

You look around frantically.

Angelina: Helen?!
Where are you?!

You hear some splashing to your left and see Helen emerging from the water.
You let out a sigh of relief.

Angelina: Thank goodness you're okay.

Helen looks at you confused.

Helen: Of course I am...
Why wouldn't I be?
Are you okay? You look a bit shaken up...

Angelina: I heard someone calling my name...and then something wrapped around my ankle...
Was it you?

Helen shakes her head.

Helen: No,it wasn't me...
I was also underwater and I saw you struggling and so I came up.
I didn't call your name.
And I saw the thing that was wrapped around your ankle was just some kelp.

Angelina: Oh...

Helen: Maybe we should just go straight to your house...
You're worrying me...

Angelina: I'm fine...
Let's go get some ice cream...
Don't worry...

Helen: If you're sure...

Angelina: I am:)

I flash a bright smile at Helen to get rid of her worries.
It works and she cracks a smile.

Helen: Let's go. I'll buy your favourite ice cream!

Angelina: Let's go!!!:)

We enjoy our ice cream,walk around,do some shopping and go for one last swim and then we see the sun is busy setting.
We dry ourselves and get in the car to go back to my house.
After 3 hours we arrive.
We get out of the car carrying all our things.
We chat with my parents for a while and then set everything up for the sleep over.

-In the livingroom-

You and Helen sit on your individual mattresses in the livingroom in front of the TV.

Angelina: Blankets?

Helen: Check.

Angelina: Crazy amount of unhealthy snacks?

Helen: Check.

Angelina: Horror movie,blankets and red wine?

Helen: Check!Check! and check!:)

Angelina: This will be so fun!

The two of you open a bag of chips and press play as you two pull up the blankets and wait for the movie to start. Day turning into night.

-Time skip-

Angelina: That movie was awesome!!!
Right,Helen?

Helen: ...

Angelina: Helen?

You look and see that she's fast asleep.
You check the time and see it's already 22:00.

Angelina: I should get some sleep...

You get as comfortable as possible and close your eyes...and fall asleep.

-Time skip-

You open your eyes slowly and look around the livingroom.

It seems like the power went out...

You look at Helen laying on her mattress next to yours...she's still asleep.

I really need to use the bathroom...

I can use my phone's flashlight to guide the way...

Since you're awake and know you won't be able to fall asleep again you head to the balcony and look at the stars after using the bathroom.

Angelina: I wonder how life will be from here on out...
From tomorrow I'll go to university...leaving my parents behind...
I mean...I won't abandon them obviously...but...
I know it's only a 3 hour drive but I'm going to miss them...
At least I'll have Helen with me...so I won't be completely alone...
I have to try and see the positive side...

You shiver and rub your arm.

It's a bit chilly...I should head inside...

Just as I'm about to head inside...
I feel like someone is looking at me...
But when I turn to look...
I don't see anything...

I'm imagining things...I really should learn to sleep earlier...and get some pills to sleep better...I can't be tired when I start studying...

Red wine and lack of sleep isn't a good combination...

And then...

Unknown 1: An...ge...li...na...

You turn around...your eyes wide as you look around wildly while clutching your chest.

Angelina: Who...who...is...there?

Unknown 1: An...ge...li...na...

I need to follow that voice...

My parents always told me to not go outside the house at night...

Specifically not to be outside at midnight...

But the person may need help.

And it's only 23:56...I'll set a timer...

You take out your phone and set the timer and then put your phone away.

I'll be back before 00:00...

Nothing will happen...our neighborhood is mostly safe.

You think as you sneak to the front door...unlocking it carefully.
You see Helen moving a bit and you hold you breath.
She continues sleeping as you slip out the door and close it behind you.
You run around the house and into the woods behind it.

It's so dark and cold...I should move forward...

That person may need help...

I can't let them down...

Angelina: Hello?
Do you need help?
Hello?
I'm here to help...
Please answer.

No one responds as you look around.

Angelina: Where are you?!

Unknown 1: An...ge...li...na...

And then you hear the voice.

Unknown 1: An...ge...li...na...

You start feeling dizzy as the voice continues calling you. You clutch your head and try taking calming breaths.

My head is killing me...

It feels like the voice is coming from every direction...

At that moment...
The alarm on your phone goes off.
You look at your phone screen in panick.

Angelina: Oh no...
The alarm...it's 00:00!!!

Unknown 1: BWHAHAHAHAH!!!

I hear laughter that sends a chill down my spine!
And not only that but it sounds like two people are running towards me!!!
Without thinking twice...I run further into the woods...
The more I run the louder the voice calls me and the faster the two people run...
Branches whip past my face...tearing at my skin and clothes...
I'm so distracted looking around wildly that I don't see where I'm heading...
Until it's too late...

Your foot catches on the root of a tree and you tumble down a hill.
It feels like forever until you reach the end.
You slowly open your eyes...your vision blurry...

My head hurts and everything looks blurry...
I move my head slightly and saw that I fell down a hill...I'm laying in the park behind the woods...
I see that I have many cuts all over...
My phone is next to me...still intact...
I reach for my phone but then I see it's dead...

At least I don't here the voice and people running anymore...

That's at least something...

I should try and get up.

You slowly move your arms and sit upright.

Angelina: Ah...

You get up from the ground and feel pain flowing from your ankle...you immediately fall back in the ground.

Ow...ow...ow...

My ankle...

It looks swollen...

And it hurts a lot...I hope it's not broken...

Okay...Angelina...just get up and push most of your weight on your good foot...

You'll get home and everything will be fine...

You get up slowly and push most of your weight on your good foot.
You sigh and look around.

Okay...now I should go to the closest store or something...

Angelina: At least I lost those two...

Unknown 2: Are you sure about that?

You look and gasp.
It's the woman that was glaring at you at university earlier. She's smiling at you...but it's not a friendly smile...

Angelina: It...it's...you...

Unknown 2: It sure is*unsettling smile*
Now just come with me and you won't get hurt...
...

Her smile dissappears.

Unknown 2: Let me rephrase...
If you come with me...you won't get hurt that much:)

She starts laughing loudly.

While this woman is laughing I take a chance and start running...or attempting my best at it with my ankle that's hurting and swollen...

Unknown 2: Where do you think you're going?
Get her!!!!

While running in pain I look back and see the woman yelling out.
I look in front of me to see a man appear out of thin air.

The man has silver hair and a red bandana to keep his hair out his face.
But the most shocking is his eyes...
They're red...
A deep red...
He's wearing a uniform I've never seen before...blue and white...

Yoongi: HALT!

A spear appears out of thin air into his hands and he points it at me...his expression serious.

Angelina: Ah......h.......h.......

I threw myself to the side before I could run into the spear.

Unknown 2: Bring her to me...

Yoongi walks over to you and kneels down.

Angelina: Please...please...let...me...go...

You whisper and plead...feeling scared.

He doesn't look me in the eyes or answer me...
He focuses on helping me get up...or rather focuses on getting me up and putting me in front of her...
Before I know it I'm in front of her...on my knees...too tired and injured to try and run away again...

Unknown 2: I was being nice and this is how you act...
Stupid---

Yoongi: We don't have time for this...
We should get going.

Unknown 2: You're right. Let's go...

Before I can utter a word...
The guy grabs me---
The three of us disappear...vanishing completely...like we were never there to begin with...
