The reason why it's because In here shes 12 but that's not how I draw 12 year olds anymore since I forgot I actually look like and my body ain't that short or flat. Her head is so round I don't like it. The round head is supposed to be for children I drew are under 6.

Young Uni's get their Charmonia by learning new things but Laura haven't earned hers even though she has learned a lot of stuff. Maybe it's better her pain is too depressed and slow too? Dunno but she did grow it out of her head to the left a age 14.

Laura goes on quests at age 12 because she needs money so Chris told her she can earn money just by signing up for quests from a aesthetic unknown place and they'll send you to portals of different worlds. It can be dangerous but who cares—
The children that's under 18 can only do these quests. Once they're done, a portal of the sky above them will throw money at the ground for them.

Where are Laura's parents—?

Well you already know Koyuki is dead and Maura is barely at home anymore because she's very busy with working at a hospital. Her brother and doesn't know about her running off to the the forest to meet her friends, they don't like it but they agree that she deserves to feel freedom because of Maura being Maura.
