A/N: Here we go! The first chapter!

The smoke filled her lungs.

The all too familiar fire blinded her eyes.

The once beautiful field of Foxfire with its purple grass and elegant glass pyramid was now in ruin.

In chaos.

The Everblaze was in torrents, the burnt sugar scent burning her nose. It swirled and swept through the field as people screamed and shrieked ear piercing sounds that made her shudder. They eventually raised their crystals to the sky and sparkled away. But not Sophie. The fire crackled, the sounds sharp and distinct. She heard the stomps behind her. A bright light shone in her eyes as she whipped around. The light stung, and she flinched, her eyes now averted away from the sight. But she, herself, wasn't. It didn't stop the force from pounding every part of her body.

The pain exploded in her chest, thread like needles stabbing her everywhere the field hit her. She felt time slow down as the wind and smoke hit her like a slap in the face. The pressure built up in her chest, in her head, in her legs, in her heart, and as she hit the ground and felt the warm wetness seep through her shirt, she let every knot loose. She caressed the force, filling it with every bitter thought she had ever dreamed before shoving the darkness out of her mind. She inflicted.

"Sophie!" She heard a voice shout. A strawberry blonde boy leaped out of the shadows, feet pounding against the grass as he came closer and closer to her, before finally reaching her. "Don't worry; you'll be okay. Are you strong enough to leap somewhere?"

"I dunno, Dex."

"Are you sure you're okay?"

"No." She whispered.

Then everything turned black.
