Empty cans of beer were strewn across the floorboards, along with occasional wasted condoms and the remnants of junk food.
The moon shone brightly through the window panes, beaming directly onto the sleeping pinkette.
"Natsu? Natsu?! Are you there? Natsu!"
The repetitive voice shouts through his cellphone, seeing to it that the certain rosette had picked up his call on accident.
Shifting around on the soft mattress, he lets out a low groan and rolls over onto his back.
"Natsu, pick up the goddamn phone, and listen to me when I'm talking to you!"
The voice continues to pester the exhausted male, who was currently trying to get a full nights rest in.
"Natsu! I swear to GOD if you don't answer ri--"
He gets cut short from his sentence.
"Nngh..."
Natsu blinks his eyelids as he awakens, stretching his arms.
Groggily, he raises his head and grabs onto the cellular device, pressing it to his earlobe.
"..Hello?...Dad?"
He questions in a raspy voice, rubbing at his eyelids.
"Obviously it's me, you dumbass!"
His father, Igneel, barks at him, probably drunken past belief.
"What do you want? It's five in the morning~."
Natsu grumbles, earning an enraged shout from the man.
"How dare you address me like that! Do you know who I am? When your mother up and left your sorry ass on my doorstep twenty-three years ago, I didn't have to take you in! I didn't want to take you in, you worthless brat!"
Igneel continues his rant in a furious tone.
Tears brim in the rosette's eyes, in which he hastily wipes away.
"I'm sorry, dad. I just have finals this week, and I didn't get any rest, since I was cramming."
Natsu explains, causing his father to scoff.
"You better do well, or expect an earlier curfew."
Igneel spits from the other side of the line.
His curfew was five o'clock, how much more early could it be?
"Yes, sir."
Natsu breathes out, hopping out of the bed and slipping on his house-slippers.
"Oh, and I need you to come pick me up from the bar."
Igneel states, shuffling being heard on the line.
Natsu covers the phone and sighs, shaking his head to clear his mind.
"Which one?"
Natsu inquires, a simper on his lips.
"The one I always go to, idiot! Instead of playing video games and having your stupid fraternity parties, you should try and focus on the environment around you!"
Igneel shouts angrily.
"Okay, I'll be there in at least ten minutes."
Natsu suggests, heading down the staircase.
"I'll be waiting out front."
Igneel informs him, hanging up the call.
"Bye!--dad.."
Natsu exhales as he realizes the call was already cut short.
