Ice Cream

"Sandor is so going to kill me," Sophie mumbled as she walked down the busy streets.

"Relax Foster, I'm sure Gignator won't find out! Even if he does, we can bribe him with the E. L. Fudges!"

Keefe had that little twinkle in his eye which was adorable, if you asked Sophie.

It was still a mystery why he loved and obsessed over those cookies so much that he insisted she teleport them to the Forbiddened Cities to get more after the pack he had was finsihed by Ro.

He still had not forgiven her about it.

Sophie and Keefe looked like any other couple walking around, except that Sophie really wanted to place a bag over Keefe's head to make the groups of girl that were gawking at him look away.

He smirked as she glared at the girls, and Keefe whispered into her ear, "Don't need to be jealous Foster, I only have eyes for you."

His lips almost touched her ear, the warmth tingling feeling of his breath still staying as he straighted up his posture, and Sophie was pretty sure her face was red.

"Yeah, but I'm not jealous," Sophie insisted, narrowing her eyes.

Keefe raised up their hands, which was held tightly, and Sophie huffed in defeat. Stupid empaths.

Keefe laughed as Sophie continued to pout, the group of girls trying to be subtle as they followed them, as if Keefe was a celebrity.

Sophie couldn't blame them, since Keefe was really good looking, but it still didn't give them permission to look at her boyfriend like that.

Boyfriend.

That word seemed to be so natural when she used it on Keefe, yet so stiff when on Fitz.

"Huh," Sophie said out loud, and Keefe frowned. "What?" He asked, looking around.

"Nothing," Sophie leaned on Keefe, although she was pretty sure he was having his doubts.

They walked on the busy streets for a while more, looking out for the convenience store.

Sophie had no idea why the streets were still so alive even at midnight, but it did help with blending into the crowds.

Keefe grinned as Sophie's head was on his shoulder, and he had a string urge to point out how much taller he was than Sophie, but that would just activate the Fiesty Foster.

He liked it like that.

He liked the feelings Sophie were radiating, the calm and relaxed waves as they strode, not even caring about the other background noises.

Honestly, he only asked to get E. L. Fudges because he wanted to spend more time with Sophie, as she became more and more involved into the Black Swan.

He wanted to let her have a break, although angering Sandor was a bonus. Ro did know about their plans, and completely agreed to it since the Neverseen's threats were finally over.

"So, when will we reach there?" Keefe asked, after they walked for quite a while. "See that over there? That should be it," Sophie pointed to the huge blue sign that said "Walmart".

Keefe nodded. "You're tired," he noted as she yawned. "Yeah, so once we're done we'll get back," Sophie said.

"Whatever you say Foster," Keefe smirked.

A lot of people were staring at Keefe and Sophie as they entered the super market.

Although she and Keefe were wearing human clothes, their stunning appearances still stood out, and Sophie really wanted to hide away.

It did not help that Keefe Sencen was with her.

They quickly got another five boxes of E. L. Fudges and other candies, including some Snickers and MnMs, and quickly got out.

Sophie looked around, searching for an alley for them to light leap away.

"Is that gelato?" Keefe pointed to a store, with such excitement Sophie couldn't turn down.

"Nope. That's ice cream," Sophie corrected. "Is it like gelato?" He asked. "No, and we're not going to try it," Sophie warned.

"Please? We still have enough change!" Keefe pleaded.

Sophie sighed. "One, just one."

Keefe chose sea salted caramel, since Sophie told him it was one of her favourites, and Sophie herself took macadamia and almond vanilla.

They sat on a bench, resting for a while as they ate their ice cream.

"Foster?"

"What?"

"Have I ever said I loved you?"

"Yeah, almost every day," Sophie giggled as he looked at her.

He had a tiny bit of ice cream on his nose without realising it, and he looked like a 5 year old eating ice cream.

"You have something right here," she wiped it off, grinning as he really didn't know about it.

"You have something right here," he said, leaning in, his lips touching hers.

She kissed him back, the salty caramel flavour still lingering.

"You know, you were smiling the whole time," Keefe smirked as they broke it.

"Well you were too," Sophie teased.

"Wanna swap?" Keefe suggested as he held out his ice cream.

Sophie took it, and Keefe just had to remind her.

"Gignator is going to kill us when he finds out."

"Yep, but this is worth it." Sophie laid her head on his shoulder, feeling his steady heartbeat.

The streets were less crowded now, and the annoying group of girls were finally gone.

Sophie smiled as she realised how lucky she was, and she looked up, to see Keefe smiling at her too.

It was just the two of them, eating ice cream.
