Cookie Dough
"Foster, we can't keep doing this anymore." Keefe said, rather sternly.
"But why Keefe? We could be so happy!" Sophie's eyes welled up with tears.
"We won't be happy like this Foster. Only you are." Keefe sighed.
"But the mallowmelt is so good! Is it a crime to take your share too?" Sophie glanced at Keefe's plate.
"Yes it is, and also you have been eating way too much mallowmelt for your own good." Keefe teased.
"Who are you to judge? I used to eat cookies everyday." Sophie glared at Keefe.
"Cookies? Can I have that too?" Keefe asked, eyes shimmering with excitement.
"I think I can remember the recipe, although there are no promises." Sophie said as she went into the kitchen, Keefe following.
"Cookies! Will they taste like the E. L. Fudges? Try to make them not as dry," Keefe recommended to Sophie.
"I said, no promises. Besides, I haven't baked cookies in so long. So whatever happens, don't blame me." Sophie warned.
"Eh, the worse that you could do is to burn another one of Lady Galvin's capes." Keefe smirked.
"Don't remind me," Sophie sighed.
"But Foster, be glad you did. Because that was the time I first met you." Keefe grinned.
Sophie felt her cheeks heat up. "Gosh, you sound so cheesy now. Hand me the flour." Sophie smiled.
"And you love it," Keefe handed it over to her.
"No I don't," Sophie insisted, although she knew plenty that Keefe could tell she was lying.
"It would be much more convincing if you weren't smiling, not even adding the fact that your emotions are spiking." Keefe smirked.
"Whatever Sencen." Sophie tossed a handful of flour at Keefe.
He gasped, looking at his white tunic, not to mention his hair was coated with a layer of flour too.
"Foster, you did not just do that."
"Oh , but what if I did?" Sophie challenged.
Keefe tossed a handful of flour back at Sophie, and Sophie glared at him teasingly.
"Bring on the Food Fight!" Keefe cheered as Sophie continued to throw the flour at him.
After throwing flour all over the kitchen, they were back to stirring the mixture up.
"You know, Edaline and Grady are going to kill us later. They leave for just an afternoon, and we managed to cause this."
Keefe pointed to the floor, the sink, the counter and even themselves, which were all covered with flour.
"Well, we had fun didn't we?" Sophie shrugged.
"I'm rubbing off you Foster. Never have I ever been so proud," Keefe teased.
"Great! The dough is done!" Sophie exclaimed.
Keefe looked at the mixture of brown and chocolate chips. Then, he put is finger in the mixture.
"Cookie dough is good Foster! Try it!" Keefe said.
"There is a raw egg in there! Don't eat it!" Sophie shouted.
"Eh, it's still good though," Keefe dipped his finger again.
"Foster, you have something right here." Keefe smeared the dough onto her cheek.
"You did not just do that." Sophie warned.
"So what if I did?" Keefe mimicked Sophie's voice.
Sophie ruffled Keefe's hair.
"You get that!" She smiled.
"You should be glad I love you," Keefe sighed.
"Huh, you do?" Sophie asked with a teasing tone.
"Yep, and you know you love me too."
"That I know I do." Sophie grinned as she placed the cookies into the oven.
"So how long will this take?" Keefe asked as they waited.
"Usually around fifteen minutes per batch." Sophie said.
"Alright then," Keefe dipped his finger into the dough again.
"I told you to stop! There won't be enough for the actual cookies!" Sophie slapped his hand as he reached for more.
"Ouch Foster. That hurt," Keefe rubbed his hand.
"Serves you right. Now what do we do?" Sophie asked.
"Eh, up to you." Keefe shrugged as he reached out for the cookie dough.
Sophie grabbed the bowl away from him, glaring at him as she warned, "Don't even think about it."
"Fine, I won't." Keefe said as he leaned in to kiss Sophie.
Just as she was distracted, he grabbed the bowl and ran around the kitchen.
"You come back here!" Sophie shouted as she started to chase him.
"But Foster, it's so good! You need to try it!" Keefe shouted as he continued to run.
Sophie sighed as she thought of a better idea. She grabbed an egg, and used telekinesis to bring it to Keefe's head.
Using the foot energy technique that he once taught her, she cracked it, satisfied as Keefe stared in shock at his now eggified hair.
The oven ticked and Sophie went to take the cookies out.
Keefe reached out for one, and Sophie slapped his hand again.
"Its hot!" Sophie laughed.
"Fine, we'll wait," Keefe groaned.
After Keefe tried to wash the egg out of his hair, the cookies were finally cooled.
He took one, and popped it into his mouth.
"These are good! I can almost forgive you for the egg." Keefe laughed.
As he reached for another one, Sophie grabbed the plate away.
"Nope, no more for you."
"Why Foster? Please! I love you more than cookies!" Keefe begged, and Sophie gave him one more.
"Another one?" Keefe asked.
"You haven't said if you loved me more than cookie dough." Sophie smiled.
Keefe gave a small kiss to Sophie's cheek, and Sophie had to give him one more cookie for that.
"Wait, you still haven't answered my question." Sophie remembered.
