Chapter Twenty-Roommates

Peter's POV

"Hey... um... El?" I asked as I walked into the living room. She was adorable, wrestling with all her brothers on the floor.

"Yeah?" She asked as she looked up. All of them stopped fighting each other.

"Is it okay if we share a room? Tony has these really nice two people rooms that he doesn't tell anybody about," I wondered. My face turned red and I scratched the back of my neck.

"Uh... Yeah. Absolutely! You mind telling me why, though?"

"If you don't want to, that's totally fine and I understand,"

"It's not that I don't want to. I just want to know why."

"I want you to be able to sleep at night. I'm hoping to make you feel a little safer," I admitted. My face was so hot I thought I might explode. El playfully shoved her brothers of off her and walked over to me.

"Thank you!" She exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around me. I smiled to myself. She was so much shorter than me.

"So you're sharing a room?" Steve the grandpa questioned from behind us. He really likes listening in on people's conversations.

"Yeah," I admitted. Steve walked over to me and went to whisper something in my ear.

"You better not pull anything, Parker," He whispered. Loud enough to where I could hear but quiet enough to where El couldn't.

"It's not like that," I fought back.

"Sure," Steve smiled as he walked away.

"Let's go claim a room before Mr. Stark kills me."

"You told him!"

"Yeah..."

"Bad move, Parker. Bad move," She joked as we walked to the elevator. The nice, two people rooms were almost halfway up the tower. It would take us an hour if we took the stairs.

Once we got there, I opened one room.

"Unoccupied," I stated.

"How can you tell?" She questioned.

"It would be more decorated."

"Oh..." She trailed off. She slowly walked into the room, looking at anything and everything in the room. I could tell she was tired and decided that this room would be fine.

"You like it?" I asked her.

"Yeah. But I am fine with whatever room you choose,"

"I choose this room. You need help moving in?"

"No. Thank you, though." And just like that, we chose a room and were ready to settle in. We both walked to our rooms to move all of our stuff into the small apartment.

I walked in the room and saw El only had one medium-sized box. I was still carrying in boxes.

"You need help getting stuff up here?" I asked.

"No... I got everything. I don't really have that much. Just the clothes that Tony got me," She explained shamefully.

"I'll have to have my Aunt May take you shopping one day. You two would love each other," I said, trying to lighten the mood.

"That would be amazing, Parker," She smiled, "You need help?"

"No, I got it. You can settle in. Unpack, explore, eat, etcetera."

"Sounds good."

I walked back out to get more boxes. Once I came back, I was greeted by El hanging upside down from the fridge.

"We have a problem!!" She whined, her voice was nasally.

"What's wrong?" I asked she was adorable.

"Update, we have two problems," She muttered. My smile just grew.

"One: There's no food. Two: I'm stuck." She complained.

"Well... I have to get more boxes so..." I trailed off. I was grinning from ear to ear at this point.

"Peter!" She yelled as I walked towards the door.

"Peter! No, come back! Peter!" She yelled after me. I smiled as I shut the door behind me. I was greeted by a smiling Steve.

"You better get her some food," He smirked, "Oh yeah and get her off the fridge." He is always listening.

"Peter!" El screamed. I laughed and walked back into the apartment. She was still upside down on the fridge.

"Help!" She pleaded.

"Or what?" I smirked.

"I'll kill you!" She playfully threatened.

"From on top of the fridge! I'm so scared!" I fake gasped.

"Peterrrrrrrr!" She growled, "Help me!!" I walked over to her and firmly grabbed her shoulders.

"Just push off with your legs. I'll catch you." I reassured.

"I can't believe I am trusting Peter Parker." She playfully muttered. Her shirt fell a little bit and I saw a ton of bruises and scars all over her. I quickly helped her down before she passed out from blood rush to the head.

"Now what are we going to do about the food. I am hungry." El whined.

"Let's go get something," I offered.

"Really!" El exclaimed.

"Yeah, where you wanna go?" I asked.

"Um..." She was silent for a long moment.

"You don't know where you want to go, do you?"

"No... sorry."

"It's fine. How about McDonald's?"

"I'm down."

"We'll have to walk..."

"That's fine."

"Let's go." She slipped on shoes before walking out. I always wore shoes, so I had nothing to worry about.

We took the elevator down to ground level. Right before we left, I remembered Edwards words. 'A pretty girl like her, everybody wants to get their hands on her. She wanders too far from daddy dearest, she's done for.'

"What if we ordered food and got it delivered here?" I asked. I knew that what he said could've been a lie. But with everything he has already done to her, I wouldn't doubt he bragged about her for a second. He probably told all his buddies that they could have her if they caught her.

"Why?" El asked, clearly disappointed. I hate to disappoint her, but I had to.

"I just don't feel like leaving," I lied, "You just look really tired and I feel like walking a mile there and a mile back isn't the best thing for you right now."

"Yeah." She sighed.

"Hey, how about I go and pick us up McDonald's while you stay here and relax or something. Preferably not on top of the fridge."

"Can't make any promises!" El hollered as she went inside.

"Wait!" I yelled after her.

"Yeah?"

"What do you want from McDonald's?"

"Um... Surprise me."

"Okay, sounds good. I'll be back here in 20 minutes." She just nodded before walking into our apartment. I walked off to get the McDonalds.

I got back to our apartment. I set the food bags down on the counter and began looking for El. I stayed quiet just in case she was asleep.

I heard a faint whimpering and went into panic mode. I followed the sound into her room. She was asleep on her bed, but she was whimpering. It was a nightmare.

"El, hey. It's me," I said as I shook her awake. She shot up and scrambled to the back of her bed.

"It's just me!" I assured.

"Oh, sorry," She muttered before moving to the middle of her bed.

"You hungry?" I offered. I felt like pushing her to tell me wasn't the right thing to do. If she wants to tell me, she will. She simply nodded her head and got up, shuffling to the kitchen.

She hoisted herself up on the counter and I began to dig through the many food bags. I pulled out several items.

"I didn't know what you liked so I got two of everything on the menu," I explained. El raised an eyebrow.

"Guess we got leftovers, then." She joked.

"No. I was planning on eating whatever you didn't." I wasn't lying. I could eat three whole cakes and be perfectly fine.

El jokingly scoffed before grabbing a burger and scarfing it down.

El's POV

"You really liked that burger, didn't you?" I joked.

"It was a very good bur-" I was interrupted by Tony bursting through the door. I immediately stopped talking and we both stared at Tony.

"I never said you two could share a room!" He barked.

"Sorry," We both muttered in unison. Steve walked in shortly behind Tony. He looked like an angry mom. They both did.

"Both of you get your stuff and go back to your old rooms!" He yelled.

"But, Mr. Stark!" Peter argued.

"No. Go back to your rooms," He ordered. I just sat there and watched as they fought.

"Why?" Peter asked. I was wondering the same thing. It's not like Peter would do anything to me, right?

"Because I say so," Tony ordered.

"Mr. Stark, hear me out, please!" Peter pleaded.

"Cap, why don't you help El over here get moved back out," Tony demanded. Steve gestured for me to follow him. I didn't want to, but I felt that it would be best if I did. Peter and Tony were still fighting each other, I felt like my head was going to explode.
