Chapter 6
It's not that I've never really saw myself with anyone in my entire life. I mean sure who doesn't think of the good old fashioned dream of having a nice loving family in a nice home, having a nice life that you'll grow old in and die eventually. Wow when I think about it like that it's kind of hard to want it. But anyway I have thought about finding the right guy that would scare away all of these demon's that swarm in my mind from time to time. Of course the family has to approve since whomever I decide to spend all of my insignificant mortal existence with, has to have the appropriate pedigree to carry our bloodline. And yes since my bloodline is so noble, my husband would have to accept my last name. Imagine the fight for that one, but in the end my relationship would be planned ahead. Having some sort of stable ideals tied around it.
Instead here I was accepting to be someone's pretend Luna for who knows how long. It's not like Sebastian said anything about the length of my stay. He just said he needed me to fill in as the make believe bride of Frankenstein until all of his pack members cool it a bit and then they can move on with their own lives.
"What you doing?" All of a sudden two pair of bright shinning green eyes appear right in front of my face. My mind cannot really take in what just happened. So instead of trying to act a bit more reserve. I yelped like a little girl. Jumping one good step away from the girl as my back slammed into the hallway wall. The wall vibrated underneath my impact making two paintings that were nailed up fall and the glass shattered and scattered the floor.
"Jesus!" I squealed, not really knowing what else to do other than to bend down and start trying to pick up all of the big pieces of glass. The girl crouched down right in front of me and shook your head.
"I'm no expert in cleaning up messes but I do know it's a bad idea to pick up glass with your bare hands." For that second that I glanced up to look at her confused and icy prick punctured my finger.
"Ow." Wincing I popped my index finger in my mouth. Tasting the iron taste of my blood just a little.
"Told you. Now come on someone else will try to clean it." The green eyed girl took my not injured hand and practically man handled me to stand up on my two feet again.
"But it's rude if I just leave it there."
"No one will step over glass. We're not all idiots." The girl replied in a heart beat.
"So I'm guessing you're the new Luna for this pack?" She continued without even letting me introduce myself.
"And I'm guessing you're Jeanie." I countered.
She smiled at me, "You're completely correct my dear Luna." She bowed her head making me feel a bit uncomfortable. I quickly reached over had her stand back up straight. Her emerald eyes shinning with curiosity.
"Trust me, I'm way too normal for you to go bowing for me." My cheeks were blushing but that only made her grin big time.
"You're so cute! I didn't think Bash would pick such an interesting girl." Her eyes showed a sudden glint of mischief. It wasn't the kind where i would fear for my life. It was more of a 'I think I became someone's partner in crime' mischief.
"I think I'm quite normal considering that well I'm human." I stuttered a bit but that didn't make her stop all of a sudden she cupped my cheek and lightly traced down my jawline. She wanted to play it was clear in her eyes and intent. But i wasn't so sure how to play back.
"Oh trust me, you are much more interesting than you realize." She softly whispered her eyes darting from mine to the shattered glass. I was stunned for the moment.
"Now, let's go and show you your room." Again she guided me through the hall without me having a say in this. I felt like i had no words or choice in the matter. But in all due honesty it didn't bother me so since it felt like Jeanie was more of a whimsical person. Doing things that just completely occur to her in the blue.
In a few careful steps we were standing in front of a beautiful pair of oak doors. With very nice crafted designs on the frame and door. I was too stunned by the appearance that it wasn't occurring to me that this door did not look like a guest room door.
"Umm Jeanie are you sure it's this room?" I asked and she shot my a disbelieved glare.
"Now i would never show you to a place you don't belong. Now open the doors and tell me what you think." She gave me a little push towards the door. Trying to encourage me somehow but i felt so out of place. I was meant to be help not being treated like a real Luna.
But with her pleading puppy dog eyes i couldn't not refuse her request, so i placed my palms evenly on the cool oak door. Taking one long breath i gave it a little push making the doors open and letting me see such a jaw dropping room. This was completely different from any room I've been with. It's more of a classy cottage style room. The wooden floors with wood furniture. The desk, the drawers, and even the bed frame was made of wood. The huge queen sized bed looked so inviting with the white sheets. Everything seemed so neat and the room was extremely spacious it could be a condo of it's own.
"You like?" Jeanie asked against my ear, i was so stunned that i could only nod my head.
"It's amazing." I breathed.
"And it's also my room." I hear a husky voice behind us. I quickly turned only to see and amused Bash right in front of us.
"Wait this your room? I thought Jeanie brought me to mine." I tried explaining which only resulted in Jeanie shrugging her shoulders.
"This is your room. You'll be sharing rooms with our Alpha." She said with a confident tone.
"Jeanie," Bash warned but she still didn't phase.
"Besides it's only the best choice since I assume our pack is now watching your every move, you know after you literally ditched the only most important meeting of your career." She walked away from me and headed towards the door.
"So i suggest you show your Luna her things, since your act starts now." She whispered softly to Bash and waltz away. I didn't say anything at first until i let a minute pass before i walked towards him.
"Is everything okay?" I reached over to grab his hand in an attempt to soothe him. I felt just a little happy when he didn't reject me instead he held it gently.
"I'm sorry, it's just that she's right. They will be watching us from now on... i couldn't give you your own space for just a bit." His tone was low, and i knew he felt bad about it. I bent down to catch his forest like eyes and smiled.
"I guess i won't feel lonely tonight anymore." I grinned.
