(Wonder why there's a single Axel, double Salchow, triple flip?)

(Well, the first word in each move: single, double, triple, and quad... depends on the number of rotations the figure skater does in the air.)

If a skater does a flip with one rotation then it's called a single flip.

If a skater does an Axel with two rotations then it's called a double Axel.

If a skater does a Salchow with three rotations then it's called a triple Salchow.

If a skater does a loop with four rotations then it's called a quad loop.

(The toe loop can also be called toe, so it's either quad toe or quad toe loop, 
it's the same as long as there's the toe word.) 

(Wonder why some letters are capitalized while the others are not?)

I intentionally capitalized some of the names of the figure skating moves, like the:

Axel, Lutz, Salchow, Beillmann, and Ina Bauer.

That's because these moves were named after actual people.

(It's recognized and officially should be capitalized.)
