SINCE the kingdom is run by women, everything regarding the wellbeing of peasants is also dealt by women, specifically, the queen, nemuri.

"nanako, you don't have as much experience as your other two sisters. you've grown up with a golden spoon in your hand. I'm giving you this opportunity to go experience how to solve a real life problem within the folks of our land", nemuri said seriously.

"do I have toooooooo~ mommmm, why not give this opportunity to itsu or momo? they'll handle it much better than me!!", nanako whined.

"nana! you're already almost 19. you're also going to compete in the competition for the throne a few weeks later. you have to prepare and what better way to prepare than to gain experience?", nemuri asked.

nanako thought for a moment. she sighed before reluctantly agreeing.

"how long is this gonna take?", nana asked.

"hmm about a week or two, but with you, probably even as long as a month", nemuri laughed.

"HEY! what's that supposed to mean?!", nana asked, pouting.

"that's for me to know, and you to find out! now, hurry and go pack, pick a few trusted people and you'll be leaving the day after tomorrow", nemuri explained before quickly shooing her daughter away.

"prince tomura, it seems that princess nanako is going on a trip assigned by queen nemuri. she'll be gone for about two weeks to maybe a month", dabi reported.

"oh? is that so...", tomura said.

"prince tomura. this is a good time to get to know princess momo and princess itsuka", said kurogiri.

"yeah yeah!! you never eat cake or watch fireworks with princess itsuka!! and she's so cute—

"shut up toga! you're being annoying", tomura said, cutting her off.

"dabi, pack some things, we're going with her", tomura commanded.

"prince tomura! are you sure this is the correct decision? what about the plan to find the best inheritor for the throne and marry them so you can overthrow the kingdom?", kurogiri questioned.

"kurogiri, dabi just said that the queen gave nanako the mission. that means that she must be her favorite. the queen's giving her third daughter the opportunity to get a hand on experience, meaning she wants nanako to inherit the throne the most", tomura explained.

"are you sure you're not going just because the third princess is~", toga teased, grinning wider than usual.

"I'm not!! now hurry up and go pack, dabi. and kurogiri, get my stuff ready, I'm only going with dabi this time", tomura demanded.

"yes your highness".

"alright mina, midoriya, bakugo, and todoroki. ready to head out?", nanako asked the few that she picked to go on the trip with.

"why can't I come withhhh, princess? I can protect you just as well as those three~", kaminari whined.

nanako chuckled. "I know kami, but you need to stay here and protect the castle. when I come back, I'll have a present prepared", nana said with a smile.

"fine", he shortly replied.

"alright let's go—"

"wait!", someone called out.

turning around, they all looked to see prince tomura with dabi dressed in normal, less shiny clothing.

"we're coming with", said tomura.

"w-why?", asked nana. there was no reason for tomura to tag along. although if he were to actually, it'd be a good time to deepen their bond and potentially see what tomura's end goal actually is.

"I'm coming along. is that a problem?", he asked.

nanako sighed. "fine. hop on the carriage with me".

after hours of riding on a carriage with tomura, I woke up somehow on his shoulder. slightly embarrassed, I quickly got up and left the carriage.

"where is this place?", I asked mina.

"this is musutafu village. apparently there's a bunch of homeless people, resulting in lots of stealing. queen nemuri wants you to fix the economy of this village and give them all a happy ending", replied mina.

"who cares if their economy goes down to shit", dabi casually said.

I shot him a glare. "I care. and if you don't, then go back to the castle".

"geez. sorry", he mumbled before walking away.

as we entered the village, everyone quickly scurried back into their bamboo built houses. 'are we that scary??'

suddenly a little girl bumped into me.

"I-I-I'm s-sorry", the little girl mumbled quietly. she was on the verge of tears. she had white wavy hair that was to the length of her waist. she had big red eyes, wearing rags.

I knelt down to her height. "don't worry little one. I'm here to help with my friends", I said, gesturing to the people standing near me.

"can you tell me what your name is, little one?", I asked kindly. 

"..u-umm...m-my name is—"

"eri!", a voice called out from behind her. you stood up, surprised to see duke kai.

"duke kai?? what are you doing here?", I asked confused.

"oh? if it isn't princess nanako. I'm actually here to visit my daughter, eri", he explained, putting his hand on eri's shoulder.

"eri's your daughter...?", I asked suspiciously.

"ah yes, not biological of course. we look nothing alike, haha. I saw her on the streets and decided to take her in, however she's from the hero's kingdom, thus I can't just take her back to my home, in the villain's kingdom", he further explained.

"ah, I see".

"and what do I owe the pleasure of you showing up here, princess?", he smirked slightly.

"she's not here for you!", tomura suddenly said.

"princess nanako is here to—"

"I'm actually here on a vacation with tomura!", I said smiling, then looping my arm around his.

"o-oh I see...then I'll be heading on my way. enjoy y'all's vacation!", he said as he walked away with eri. she looked back at me, tears threatening to spill from her eyes. I mouthed, 'don't worry'.

"n-nana, the girl looks scared...I don't think duke kai is very...u-ummm"

"midoriya", I said seriously, "obviously she's scared. if you got kidnapped by a strange hot man, wouldn't you be scared too?", I looked at him.

"w-well—"

"it was rhetorical midoriya. don't mind it. mina", I glanced at her, "is the inn ready?"

"yes nana, it's right up ahead", she replied.

we headed towards the inn, it was a bit cramped and small but I didn't mind much.

"w-welcome, I'm the innkeeper, daichi. if you need anything, please don't hesitate to let me know", the old man said.

"thank you, we'll be heading to our rooms now. please excuse us", I said with a smile as I paired everyone off.

"todoroki, midoriya, and bakugo one room. mina and I will share a room. then there's dabi and tomura".

hearing no complaints, mina and I walked upstairs to our room. setting our things down we prepared for bed. after a long day of traveling, my eyes were exhausted, despite falling asleep on our way here.

"goodnight mina!"

"goodnight nana", she replied before I fell asleep.
