ch. 48
THE month of june had finally arrived. everyone was excited as they heard that the new king of the villain's kingdom and the third princess of the hero's kingdom was finally getting married.
it was the day of the wedding, june 4th. the couple hasn't seen each other all morning. everyone was busy preparing and making sure that everything worked out.
"mommy!! you look so pretty!!", eri beamed as she saw mina doing nanako's makeup.
it was a more natural look but her eyelashes were more prominent and her lips had a glossy tint to it. nanako's hair was braiding into a low bun, with strands falling out from the side, framing her fair face.
nanako was wearing the dress she had loved when her and tomura went to go buy momo and todoroki their wedding gift that one time. the veil was stuck in her bun, having a longer trail than the actual dress.
"thank you eri! you look so cute!!", nanako replied.
"you look absolutely beautiful", nemuri cried. she was full on sobbing now, saying how young nanako was.
"it's okay mom, I'll still be with you", nana said while giving her a smile.
despite it being her big day, it hasn't fully hit her yet. she was pampered to the fullest and it was starting to get annoying.
"alright, are you ready?", aizawa asked. since nanako's father wasn't here anymore, aizawa has always been a father figure to her.
"yep!! as ready as I'll ever be!!", nanako said.
everyone else hurried outside, to where the ceremony was to be held.
outside, the piano player was just starting to play. the flowers, chairs, everything that was needed was there. it was truly perfect.
tomura stood at the end of the aisle. next to him was dabi, then kurogiri, compress, and spinner. to say tomura was nervous was an understatement.
he was hella nervous.
he rewrote his vows so many times that even the mistakes he made were engrained in his head. he practiced in front of a mirror so many times, only to end up being frustrated. he really hoped he wouldn't mess it up.
as the formal wedding music began to play, the flower girl, eri, and ring bearer, kota, walked down the aisle together. followed by the bridesmaids first was toga, then ochako, then mina, and finally momo, the maid of honor.
at last, everyone turned around to look at the beautiful bride. nanako walked beside aizawa, with their arms linked.
time seemed to slow down for tomura as he watched his future wife walk towards him. his palms started sweating even more profusely.
'I wonder if now would be a bad time to scratch my neck', tomura thought. definitely not the time.
as aizawa handed nanako off to tomura, he lowly said, "take good care of her". tomura vigorously nodded as he held nanako's hands in his.
"today, I present you...". and like always, tomura zoned out. finally being snapped out of his trance, he started his vows. mentally praising himself, he was glad he didn't stutter. nanako quickly said her vows too as hers was way more romantic than tomura's.
"do you, shigaraki tomura, take kayama nanako as your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish—"
"yes! I fucking do!", tomura said as he was irritated by how long the priest was taking. nanako chuckled at his behavior.
"then, do you, kayama nanako, take shugaraki tomura as your lawful husband, to have and—"
"yes, yes I do", she said, also interrupting the priest.
"good, now you two may exchange rings", the priest said.
dabi held up a cushion with the ring nemuri gave tomura months ago. tomura took the ring and slipped it onto nanako's finger.
momo also held up a cushion with a ring. nanako took the wedding ring and carefully slipped it onto tomura's finger.
"now, I officially pronounce you husband and—"
"WAIT!", someone shouted.
everyone's attention was turned to the young man with short brown hair. he stood in a black tux, at the end of the aisle.
"t-tsuburaba k-kosei?!", nanako whispered under her breath, although tomura heard it clearly.
"who are you?! how dare you ruin me and nanako's weddi—"
"king tomura!", tsuburaba started. "are you sure you want to marry such a scandalous woman??", he questioned.
"why would I not—"
"listen to me first. your precious future wife over there, isn't as innocent as she seems".
"who the fuck do you think you—". dabi was cut off by tomura.
"I want to hear this", tomura said, his tone as cold as ice now. nanako started to tremble, and tomura could feel it as he was holding her hands.
"you see~ miss princess over there and I have actually had a relationship before. and need I say that when she was with me, she was a handful! the amount of guys that she's been with exceeds the amount of times we've been on dates by a ton!", tsububara said.
itsuka smirked. she and tsububara has planned this out beforehand. when nanako had originally sent her the invitation, itsuka had the perfect plan to get back at her for taking her title and wealth away.
"and don't even get me started and the things that she'd say to me in bed—"
"ENOUGH!", tomura shouted. he turned back to nanako, who was full on shaking and crying right now.
"explain", tomura said.
nanako was hurting so much that she thought she was going to pass out. everyone else kept quiet as they waited for the princess's explanation.
"w-when..I...was s-six...m-my father died. a-and to fill up the h-hole in my heart...I-I started...dating around", nanako explained. "b-but when aizawa a-appeared...I f-felt like I had a f-father figure again...s-so I stopped".
"I-I promise t-tomura! I-I love you s-so so much!!", nanako said as tears were still streaming down her face. tomura wiped them away, he knew how it felt not having a dad, a family.
"and you're just going to believe her?!", tsububara questioned.
tomura glared at the male. nanako has been there for him so many times. she was the one that taught him kindness, love, and appreciation for others.
and he'd be damned if he let some old boy toy of nanako's break then up.
