"CHECKMATE bitch!"

"nanako, if you call all for one a bitch during yalls chess match, I'll be saying your eulogy at your funeral", chisaki said as he forfeited.

"you're just upset that I beat you, loserrrrr—"

"NANAKO! tomura's waiting outside!!", mina said as she busted through the door, again.

nana got up from her seat. "thanks for playing chess with me...for like ten fucking hours".

"it was only three but okay".

"anyways, see you soon!!", nana said as she slipped towards the exit. she was excited. after hours of sitting and strategizing, she could finally get up and move around.

"oh, you're here", tomura said with his usual stoic face.

"yep! now what are we doing??", nanako asked excitedly.

"according to dabi, a date".

"oh? and where will we be going?"

"to where the peasants are", tomura said.

nanako chuckled. "you can't just call them that tomura. they're the people of your kingdom".

"whatever", tomura rolled his eyes.

"wow!! look at all these people!!", I exclaimed. I rarely got to go out of the palace, so I was soaking up every aspect of it.

tomura lightly chuckled. "be careful though. these streets aren't very safe...no where's safe in general", tomura warned.

"speaking of safe, do you know who your real parents are?"

"that's two totally different topics", tomura said, ignoring my question.

"well then. let's go to that store!! it looks interesting", I said as I pulled tomura along with me.

we entered a store called "les méchants". it gave off a very classy vibe. lots of black, purple, and green decorations. high class, but humble.

I walked around, trying to find a gift for eri. looking from place to place, I saw a golden necklace with a little heart. in the middle, it had carved words, "you're always loved".

picking it up, I quickly went to go pay for it, only to be stopped by tomura. "let me pay".

"no no! it's fine!! plus, I'm her adoptive mother, it should be me paying anyways", I argued.

giving up, tomura sighed. "fine".

after buying the gift, we went to many more shops, holding hands, like a couple.

we entered this one store, dedicated to weddings and such.

"welcome! o-oh!! p-prince tomura! what brings you here today with this lovely lady?", the sales clerk asked.

"we're finding a gift for her sister's wedding", tomura simply answered.

"follow me this way please. I have a few things in mind", the man said. "by the way, my name's benjiro. and you are...".

"oh! my apologies for not introducing myself earlier. I'm nanako", I said with a smile.

"n-nanako...l-like princess nanako from the hero's k-kingdom...?", benjiro asked, seeming shocked.

"yes, and what if it?", tomura rudely asked.

"n-nothing!! my apologies. please, head this way", benjiro said as he led us to a more private section of the store.

we sat on the couch while tea and muffins were served. benjiro clapped, signaling many other men and women to bring in the gifts.

"first we have this beautiful sea pearl that was found under the sea in—"

"shut up! just let her pick what she likes", tomura interrupted.

"tomura!!", I slightly pouted at his rudeness towards the man. tomura sighed before shutting up.

"anyways, imma look around". I got out of my seat and examined each present. all were shiny and dazzling, but there was one that stood out.

"oohh...I like this one. wrap it up for me please", I said to the man standing in front of me. however, he didn't move.

"sorry. but I don't take orders from a lady", the man disrespectfully said.

before tomura could say anything, I stopped him. "oh? do tell to the lady that pushed you out of her vagina after carrying you for nine months", I retorted.

the man was stunned. "let's go, tomura. I refuse to get disrespected in this place any longer—"

"W-WAIT P-PRINCESS NANAKO!!", benjiro yelled before I could take another step.

"p-please, we'll get this gift wrapped up for you immediately, and as an apology, would you like to try on some wedding dresses? I'm sure you'd look nice in them—"

"sure", I shortly cut benjiro off as he was rambling too much like midoriya.

benjiro quickly shooed the rest of the people out while commanding the others to get the dresses.

"and you said I was rude", tomura joked. I playfully glared at him, making him raise both of his hands up.

nanako was gently shoved into a changing room with multiple maids. there were many dresses, ranging from a-lines to full on ball gowns.

nanako turned around to look in the mirror. the mermaid was beautiful and nice...just...not exactly for her. however, she still stepped out of the room to show tomura.

"what do you think?", nanako asked.

"it's...beautiful...and nice".

"okay. so no", nana laughed. she went back into the changing room, trying on a trumpet type dress, with many jewels embedded on the chest area.

"so? whaddya think?"

"it's...nice...", tomura commented.

"wow...so a big no then". nana once again went back into the changing room. this time she tried on an a-line dress. it had sparkles all over it, with long sheer sleeves.

"I like the sleeves", nanako commented as she stepped out of the changing room.

"oh. it's...beautiful...", tomura said.

"well damn. you're harder to please than my mother", nanako laughed.

trudging back into the changing room, a maid walked in with a big pouffy dress.

"perhaps you could try this one on, princess. I even brought a veil", the lady said with a kind smile.

she immediately helped me into the ball gown along with a few others. when I looked in the mirror, I thought I was going to cry. it was absolutely gorgeous.

the ball gown had flower patterns all over it and sparkles bedazzling everywhere. the long sleeves were sheer and had a low cut style.

a lady came in and quickly tied my hair in a low messy bun, with extra hair falling out. she stuck the veil in my hair, completing the look. I felt tears threatening to fall.

'I am not getting married yet but when I do, I sure as hell will buy this dress'.

I walked out, nervously waiting for tomura's reaction. he was looking at something before he did a double take.

"...well?", I nervously asked.

tomura walked over to me, eyes still wide. he took my hands in his, still not saying anything. I thought my tears were going to fall until he finally spoke.

"you...look like a bride...", he said breathlessly.

"haha...yeah, that's kinda the point", I grinned.

"like...my future bride...", he mumbled.

although he said it softly, I heard it loud and clear. my cheeks flushed, all the way up to the top of my ears. tomura leaned his head against mine.

"you look beautiful, nanako".
